CHAPTER HUNDRED AND NINETY-ONE

I don't know how I didn't faint on the journey but finally, the environment changed from the empty red sand surrounding us to an although red landscape but there were buildings in view.

Their style of architecture was quite… masculine and bland.

There was no paint, just red bricks used to build square buildings with few windows all around.

There were soldiers blocking my view from the front so I didn't realize when we got what seemed like a palace.

They spread open, each pair dividing until it got to us, me and the soldier assigned to me.

I began moving in the direction of the person that was in front of me but the soldier held me back with a slight tug of the chains so I stopped, looking ahead of me.

The general stood straight before somebody else that I couldn't see and everyone else at our back followed the same pattern as the soldiers in front of me.

I guess it was part of their rituals because the moment everyone was properly divided, it was like something popped the tension in the air and a rich, thick laughter erupted from the person the general bad been standing before.

“Oh my son!” The voice exclaimed, hugging him affectionately.

I realized everyone's head was bowed but I didn't get it. Besides, I wasn't a visitor here, I wasn't obligated to follow their rules.

And honestly, I was pissed to the point I wasn't thinking clearly. Tradition or not, that Trek was unnecessary and they should have at least made a better attempt to feed me before making me walk all that way here so I watched in boredom, hoping this would end quickly.

My feet needed to rest.

Then I heard trumpets blowing at a high volume, startling me.

“Drogon! Welcome back your prince and heir to the throne, General Thungi Aisen!” A voice yelled in their language from somewhere in the back.

These people were huge already, add that to the thick amours they wore, it was difficult to see anything beyond the person in front of me.

But after the announcement, I realized there was a crowd of people behind them, as they began cheering loudly in excitement, welcoming their prince.

I wonder what my fate’s obsession with Princes were. Couldn't I get in trouble with a normal person for once? At least it'll be easier to escape. But him being the prince meant security would be on a high level.

I needed to be able to teleport to somewhere safe and close to this place before doing the distance between here and the tarmac.

Well, everything still depended on me being able to take off this thing from my head.

“My son, the pride of Drogon has once again proven to be the warrior son of his father and conquered his enemies!” The Drak who I assumed was the King based on his attire as well as the way he held the general voiced out loud to the excited crowd.

I scoffed in my mind. They didn't win shit, capturing me was purely out of luck because if I was mindful of my environment, I would have sensed them before they got the chance to get to me. But I was more focused on external and stronger attacks, so here we were.

I looked in irritation as the King showered more praises on his beaming son, my mood worsening with each word that came out of his mouth.

“And to add to his great achievements,” he said to them, and then he walked past his son towards me, “he brought us a prisoner,” he finished with a smile.

The soldier holding the chain at my bag tugged the chain again, this time harshly, forcing me to look at him.

“Bring down your head!” He whispered, making me frown.

I turned back to the approaching King but before I could do as he'd said, I felt a hard slap on my face, the pain ricocheting through my already hurting head.

“How dare you look his Majesty in the eyes you imbecile!?” The soldier yelled at me.

I completely forgot what was on my head and fixed him with a stare, and slowly, as everyone stared, he began drying before their eyes, his skin snapping over bone as he began screaming loudly.

“Stop!” I heard from several voices around me but I couldn't hear anything past the headache and anger in my body.

Suddenly, I felt lightheaded and everything went black.

I woke up to conversations and argument, making me look around me.

I was in a meeting room of sorts and they were speaking their language.

“He will do anything for her, My king,” the general, Aisen said in response to something I'd not caught.

There were about fifteen men in the room, while I was chained double than before to a chair close to the door with a different soldier holding on to the chains. This one looked more aggressive and I had the urge to kill him but I won't get the layout of this place by being knocked out all the time.

“You believe he'll hand over the planet he'd just conquered in exchange for her?” The king asked, confused by such an idea.

“You need to see how obsessed he is with your own eyes. Such a powerful man, brought to his knees by a woman. He'll definitely throw everything away just to have her back and we'll give her to him, but he'll have to hand over the planet and it's resources to us,” Aisen explained to them.

“If he's that obsessed with her, I don't think he's going to conquer Zorvath first. He might even be on his way here as we speak,” someone else in the room said, a tremor of fear in his tone.

“I thought about that, Count Milo but that'll be a stupid idea. His ship is big but he doesn't even have soldiers. So he'll have to go to Zorvath and get enough soldiers to come here. Besides, he's low on resources so he won't risk coming here only to fail.”

“Besides, our defenses are one of the best in the universe. Him and his huge ship would be destroyed on sight if he attempts coming here. The moment I get news that he's in Zorvath, you'll take her to him. By the time you get there, he would have conquered the planet,” the king added, his fingers running through his beard as he sat majestically on his throne.

“Yes, that's a great plan My King,” another person said with a bow of his head.

“Awesome. Let's go back home and prepare for the welcoming party of the safe return of my son. Tonight, we'll celebrate as wildly as never before!” He bellowed to the men who hollered in excitement while I watched in anger.
