CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-SEVEN

After making sure everyone knew what they were supposed to be doing to get the ship back in shape, I teleported to the ward where Tessa and our son were.

She was still sleeping but Xander was playing alone, laughing at the sounds the toy in his hand was making.

I reached down and carried him up before remembering what Tessa had said about touching him.

Nothing happened, so I didn't understand the reason for that, but I pushed that away from my mind for the time being. I was more than happy to have my child safe, the memory of that Drak dropping him tormenting me.

I regretted not listening to Tessa’s warnings because a lot of things would have been avoided.

As I sat down next to her, Xy'thern showed me a memory of her controlling us and I sat up in shock.

I knew she was stronger than any other being I'd met before but I didn't realize how strong.

‘Was I insecure about it?’ I asked myself, trying to understand the weird feeling in my chest. I hated how difficult these feelings were to navigate, I hated the consequences that came with following their lead. I can't be jealous of my wife, she had proven herself to be the best thing to ever happen to me, so what was this feeling?

Then I realized why I was feeling whatever it was I felt; Tessa would never need me again.

She was always looking at me to protect her from my people and I fucked that up by her needing to protect herself from me. I guess the universe decided since I'd failed at my job, she was going to get the powers necessary to protect herself in the new world she was going to.

Yet, I felt like crap about it. I wanted to be her protector and make sure she was happy in every way.

Xander made a gaggling sound and I looked at him, smiling at the handsome little guy. He was looking better than before, I just hoped it radiated in every part of his existence.

“Daddy loves you,” I whispered to him, making him smile.

“What about me?” I heard my wife's pouting voice, making me look up at her quickly, seeing the tired smile on her face.

“I love you so much, my Queen,” I said to her, and I took her hand and kissed it, avoiding the needle inserted in her arm. “I'm really sorry for all of this, if I'd listened to you, –”

“Shhh,” she cut me off, “I'm not upset, it was out of the blue, and even I was confused about it.”

“But I shouldn't have doubted you, even if you were wrong. I should have taken action first and then dealt with whatever happened afterward. But once again, I failed you. I don't deserve you,” I croaked, coming to that painful realization.

I dropped Xander back in his cot and fixed the oxygen mask on his face to help him breathe.

I stood up, unable to deal with the rejection I felt coming from her.

“Where are you going?” she asked, trying to sit up on the bed but it was a little hard for her. I realized she must have been more worn out than I thought.

“Baby, don't sit up. You need to rest, okay?” I said, hoping to prolong the rejection I knew was at the top of her luscious lips.

“I'm fine, just a little bit tired,” she waved me off, forcing herself to sit up. So I took two pillows and placed them behind her head, and she gave me a sweet smile that elicited bubbles in my chest. “I'm not going to be angry over this issue even though I should be, okay? Just make sure we don't have this issue again. My powers are new, and I don't understand them; you do, and I'm dependent on you to figure them out as we go.”

I breathed a sigh of relief and sat closer to her on the small bed.

“I'm so glad you actually need me for something and I promise you, I won't fail you again,” I assured her, and Xy'thern's agreement with me reinforced our determination to keep to my words.

“Okay baby,” she replied, and then placed her head on my chest.

I adjusted myself, carrying her into my arms so she could relax a bit and I honestly just wanted to be in her space a bit.

“I love you, Tessa. So much,” I whispered into her hair.

“I love you too and I'm ready now,” she said, making me confused.

“Ready?”

“Yes, Xavier, I'm ready for you to make me feel good; I miss you,” she replied, her voice sultry and seductive.

My cocks jumped up in excitement, and I was going to rush into the excitement of the moment, but then I remembered where we were and why.

“Oh baby, I'm so happy you are ready for me to make you cum but you need to get better before that. We don't want you collapsing from too much pleasure,” I joked and kissed her ears.

“Mhmm, your mouth is saying one thing, but the rest of your body…” she whispered, moving her hips on my body, making me nearly lose my train of thought.

“This woman,” I groaned and moved her to a spooning position. I slapped her ass, making her squeal in excitement. “Let's take a nap. When we wake up, I'll have Memphis check your health status, and once he's sure you're doing okay, I'll give you all the pleasure you want, okay?”

She grumbled a yes and delved deeper into my arms.

I mentally moved Xander's cot to the front side of the bed so we could watch him while sleeping, and very soon, I heard her dozing off, and I realized how tired I actually felt after the madness of the day.

So in no distant time, I joined her in deep sleep.

I woke up with a jolt and gently extricated myself from my sleeping wife.

I stood up and looked at the two of them, a piece of me. The sight made me want to do whatever was necessary to keep them safe.

I put a protective wardrobe around them before teleporting to the command room.

I wanted to give her the best day ever with as many orgasms as she could handle, and I didn't want any interruption.

I, therefore, needed to put the ship in a complete defense state so nothing would catch us by surprise again.

Also, I didn't want anything to disturb us because I planned for us to spend the entire day together without interruptions.
