CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED FORTY-ONE

“What are you doing here?” I snarled at him while getting out of the car.

“I'm still part of the Zorvathian allies; why wasn't I informed of this meeting?” He asked casually, as though he had not kidnapped me and tried forcing me to be his seventh wife.

“Oh, I apologize, your Highness; I'll get King Xavier on that real quick,” I replied, dialing my husband's number immediately.

I could have killed him myself, but I didn't want to do that; he was a king now, and I didn't know if there would be consequences for that.

“King? He's the king?” Aisen exclaimed, shocked.

“Yes, why does that surprise you?”

“Koi told me they had this handled; how come you're…” he trailed.

Then he began looking around just as the call connected.

We'd already begun doing the work to create a more advanced Zorvath, so all over the planet, there was evidence of work in progress, including the pathway to our palace.

I'd even grown anti-poison flowers all over the country, I would take a tour later around to do the same thing.

“Hi baby,” he greeted tiredly.

“Aisen is here, the Drak general,” I said immediately, calling his attention.

“Wait, I think I'll just head back. There was a miscommunication somewhere,” Aisen rushed out and began heading to his jet that had probably destroyed my lawns.

“No, you deserve a proper apology and a full-on welcome party,” I said sarcastically.

A thrill ran through me as Xavier appeared out of thin air right as Aisen got to his jet.

“Leaving so soon? We've been expecting you!” He called out to him, carrying on with the sarcasm.

“I'll come some other time,” he replied and closed the door, but I shook my head with a smile.

Xavier was made of atoms so Aisen was stupid if he thought a door was going to stop him

Over the week it took to get back to the ship after we met on the way, it was a lot to stop Xavier from going back to Drokos to kill Aisen.

But stupidly, he strolled down here talking about allies.

I knew Xavier would have a field day with him so I got back into the car and continued driving inside.

Right as servants came to help me carry everything, I began hearing loud bangs and clashes.

He was taking his revenge, for him and for me.

I smiled as I heard Aisen's screaming out loud.

As powerful as he might look, he could never compare to Xavier.

I went inside to get ready for our night out when Roe rushed in excitedly.

“Someone's excited,” I noticed as she closed the door behind her.

“Who wouldn't be? Dr. Memphis is so calm, patient, and nice! I've learned so much and not once did he make me feel stupid or slow,” sue gushed, making me smile.

“I'm really happy he decided to take you on. Finally, that little girl inside of you will get whatever she wants,” I said to her, beaming with joy.

She took my hand and dragged me to the bed.

“Guess what?” She exclaimed, making me shake my head, bemused. “He promised to begin paying me by this month's end; so far, the government has released the necessary funding.”

“Really? You're going to make your first money!” I gushed excitedly with her, the feeling of sadness I'd come home with fading away.

“Yes! He's amazing, I tell you! And so tall, sometimes I have to step back to look at him. I feel like a tiny girl next to him and his perfect abs,” she continued, her words making me confused.

“Abs? Roe, how did you see your boss's abs?!” I exclaimed, covering my mouth in shock.

“Oh! I mentioned that,” she replied, blushing profusely and slicking her locs back behind her ear.

“Well??”

“It wasn't intentional okay? Chill,” she giggled, shocking me with the sound. I'd never heard that from her before that moment. “He had a cut that needed cleaning before it closed in while he was experimenting on a poison. I helped him clean, and girl, let me tell you, I had to change my underwear afterward,” she confessed brazenly.

“Roe!”

“What? It's not going to be anything anyway; he'll never feel anything for me, so I'm just going to be gushing to you; I'm very professional at work, trust me.”

“You promise?”

“On my heart, I'll never disappoint you or misuse this opportunity you've given me.”

“Hopefully you remember that when next you're ogling the ky'rhan’s and,” I said to her with a smile.

“Yes, I will now show you what you plan to wear!”

We spent the next two hours yapping, dressing up, and fussing over Xander, who wanted to go back to my stomach at this point.

He was never this clingy, but I guess I'll have to get used to it, considering the doctor's instructions.

When I was done, I looked in the mirror and smiled.

I remembered when I was going nuts over how my body looked while pregnant but the way Xavier made me feel, I began to appreciate myself.

I had blown up and still shrunk back to this size, a bit bigger than before I got pregnant but still pretty if I do say so myself.

Or maybe it's the red wine I sipped that's making me think that way.

Either way, I felt better than I did earlier today and my husband was about to take me for a date night in space.

“Will Lisbeth be okay with both of them while you sleep?” I asked Roe as we left my room to theirs.

I'd put them opposite Lily and Aran in an ensuite room bigger than mine just a bit. They insisted on staying together so it was just right to give them that room.

“Oh, she's been doing that all along. I don't know what I would have done without her. Brennan is sometimes confused about who's his mother,” she replied with a smile.

“Oh, that's awesome of her. I can't wait for her to get married and have her own baby. We'll fuss over them like crazy.”

Our smiles faded a bit as we got to the common area where Xavier was standing with a bruised and battered Aisen.

“Alright, I'll leave you to… whatever the fuck that is,” Roe, ever the anxious-avoidant, said as she wheeled Xander's cot away.

He was playing with his toys now, so he wasn't crying, but I gave Rosie a walkie-talkie to call me the moment he got teary again.

Once they were out of eye's reach, I walked towards the bloody pair.
