CHAPTER NINETY
XAVIER'S POV
The fact that I caught her snooping around my room left me with unease but I was sure she didn't find anything. I was very discreet but the moment she came into view, every thought or emotion I felt took a swift leave as I inhaled her delicious scent.
When Xy'thern washed her clean last night, he intentionally kissed the spot where our venom merged with her blood, dripping spittle all over it so she'd smell like us and her for the next week or even more considering I was about to do it again.
I hated how much of me I had to sacrifice for my people, this woman had me in the palm of her hand without even knowing it.
“What's up?” I drawled as I drew her into my embrace, the scent of us mixed together to form the beautiful smell of spring and honey.
If only my father wasn't a monster and the people I ruled, well served, were not so demanding, I would have a quiet life with her, doing everything to make her smile just the way she did right now as I touched her pink lips. I preferred them swollen from my kiss though so I lowered my face down to hers but she ran out of my arms.
“Morning breath!” She exclaimed and ran out of the room, heading towards hers.
“Fine but make sure you come back right after, we have a lot to discuss,”
“Oh. Is there a problem?” She asked, tensed up.
I didn't want anything to trouble her but she needed to know what was happening. I was keeping a bigger secret from her so it was only right I let her in on the rest.
“It's nothing too big so don't worry, I just want to update you. So get ready for us to leave and tell your friends to get into the truck, Brennan will give them the keys. We'll meet with them when we're done talking,”
She nodded and closed the door after her and I stood in the spot where she was just a few minutes ago, trying desperately to remember what I was thinking earlier on.
I still couldn't believe that I nearly made her resent me completely and I still don't know what made her change her mind but I was more than grateful for it. I guess it was her friend who probably told her how good she had it with me compared to the rest. I made a mental note to get the girl a gift of appreciation, she made my life a hundred times better.
I'd always struggled with my emotions, my father telling me how unnatural it was to feel but my own body wasn't listening to that.
Meeting her on that auction stage, I was grateful that a part of me still felt after nearly twenty-seven years of being told I needed to ditch them.
My phone rang, shaking me from my thoughts and I looked at the screen. It was Corbin.
“There's been no sign of him anywhere Xavier, none! How is that possible?”
“Did he inherit teleportation from me or something? Someone is doing a great job at hiding him and I need to figure that out. I'm not letting him touch her!” I was seething in anger at the thought of him laying his filthy fingers on her. I'll rather run mad
“I did notice something though,” he paused.
“Spit it out man, I don't have the time for theatrics,” I growled, getting really impatient.
“There's been other disappearances,”
“You've gotta give me more than that,”
It was like he was scared to actually talk.
“Some council members, even the regional head in Asia. They're just nowhere to be found and their wives are going crazy but I believe they're just performing really well,”
“You know what? I just had a brilliant idea,”
“That sounds scary,”
“Hear me out, what exactly are we still doing on this planet?”
“Um, waiting for your woman to fall in love with you? How's that coming by the way?”
“We went all the way last night and I don't think we need to wait anymore. Let's leave, tomorrow,”
“Xavier, you need to calm down. This is definitely something I'd suggest too but the timeframe isn't so great and the moment he gets wind of it, which he will considering how this is supposed to happen, he'll just release the information and there'll be chaos everywhere,”
I walked over to my bed and sat down.
“Exactly what I'm counting on. We're going to use the mothership we've been rebuilding over the years. He definitely won't come an inch close to it and all his allies will abandon him. Whatever chaos he causes on earth just puts him at risk because humans will never let anyone take the power from them again,”
“Fuck, this is brilliant. But how will she react to this?”
“She won't know,”
“Come on Xavier, be serious. You want to kidnap her?”
“When you put it like that, it sounds so terrible. I'm just going to transport her and everyone she knows in those pods and when everything settles down, I'll bring her out,”
“And then spend the next five years convincing her to forgive you,”
“No, I won't need to. Once I show her what her sacrifice brouhaha to her planet, she'll feel better. Besides, we do have a great bond and it's not just the connection with Xy’thern,”
“Alright then, let's do it,”
When I dropped that call, I lay on my bed, my face to the white ceiling and a huge smile on it. I may finally have it all.

TESSA'S POV
Eavesdropping had gotten me into trouble so many times but this time, it was going to save me from getting kidnapped by the man I was already falling in love with.
I rushed back into my room and woke Roe up.
“Gee, chill. What's going on?” She asked groggily, sleep still in her eyes.
I began narrating everything I'd heard, my mind still reeling from it all.
By the time I was done, her eyes were wide awake and very shocked.
“But what the hell are we supposed to do? If we run away from here, we're going to get kidnapped by his father for sure and if we stay here, he's going to fulfill his plans down to the T and the only difference is that we know what he's planning,” she gushed, tears welling in her eyes. “So I'm going to have my baby in the pod or what?”
She was crying at this point.
“Come on Roe, don't go flat on me right now, I'll go get Anna and we'll start planning immediately. This can't happen,”
“But she's just a little girl, we're supposed to protect her! Do you know she'll be the most endangered there? I'm probably safe since they don't like to fuck a human that already had sex with another ky’rhan and you're their queen but your sister? She'll make whoever gets her very powerful,”
“No, that'll only happen if she's his Luminari,”
“And you don't think all of us in one damn spaceship gives the perfect opportunity to get that party started? Don't bring her into this, at least not yet. We need to have a game plan first of all, okay?”
I sat down close to her on the bed, deflated.
In moments like this, I wished Brendan was here, he'd always been the one to get me out of trouble even if it meant he was the one that got screamed at for it.
As we contemplated our bleak future, my phone rang, the shrill sound springing me out of my morose thoughts.
I looked at the phone and it was a strange number.
I picked it up but I didn't say anything. I was terrified it might be Seth and he'll be planning something crazy with this phone call but it was a more familiar voice that said hello.
“Corbin?”
“Meet me at the Jacuzzi room in exactly fifteen minutes! It's urgent!”
