CHAPTER HUNDRED AND SIXTY-FIVE
**TESSA'S POV**
When I walked into the command room, all eyes were on me, shocked as much as possible.
“Your highness, his Majesty isn't here at the moment,” one of the engineers said to me. Like I was a child playing in a serious meeting room full of adults.
“I know,” I replied and had to pause because my brain detected an incoming fire coming from one of those war ships. I had to keep the guard up to avoid it actually hitting our ship.
“Did his –” one of them began speaking, but I raised my hand so he would shut up and let me concentrate. I couldn't believe Xavier had been doing this without even blinking.
Finally, I'd reinstated stronger walls so I focused on the shocked men staring at me. I had no idea why the warships paused but it gave me the needed time to get things straightened down here so I can be ready to face anything they fired at us again.
“Now, if you feel uncomfortable working with me, kindly use the door. I'm not in the right frame of mind to deal with feeble brained people who can't comprehend a woman being capable of doing anything important,” I snapped and went to the throne-like chair Xavier always used and positioned properly for future attacks.
I heard the door open and turned around, thinking they were leaving but it was Zyx coming in.
“I wanted to be sure you were settled before I go deal with the people,” he explained.
“They're panicking already I guess,” I replied with a smile.
“You know your people,”
“I think we're good here, right guys?” I said to the room of five men that I didn't even have the opportunity to know their names.
“Yea, we're good,” the purple XYZ with a buzz cut replied after an uncomfortable pause.
“Great, Zanyr let me know if you guys need anything,” Zyx said to the guy before disappearing down the room as another fire began coming.
Like a planned orchestra, they all started firing, giving me so much stress having to fend off multiple attacks at once.
It seemed they just wanted to damage the ship a bit so they could come in. Dumb of them to think they'd be able to take out five million ky’rhans who had extra powers.
I kept repelling, wishing Xavier had planned for this ahead so we could actually be firing back instead of just defending while only he fights them physically.
I've seen him fight before and he had gotten way stronger since the first time we went kayaking together so I knew he was good over there but it still scared me a bit.
Also, he had all these mini versions of him everywhere, watching the actions of the ships, it kind of made me feel he didn't trust me to keep things afloat.
I didn't blame him for that, I'd never done this before and although I was doing a great job at it considering nothing had hit the ship, it was my first time. Shit was scary as fuck because what if I was distracted for a second?
Also, our son was probably aware of what was going on because he'd stopped fussing around as he used to.
The engineers were rushing around, flying the ship, keeping the temperature regulated and keeping me hydrated.
“Here, Your Highness,” Xaheer said to me while dropping another energy drink in front of me.
I'd finished five in the last four hours as this battle didn't look to be ending anytime soon. Although the firing had reduced a bit, Xavier was still not back which meant he was still fighting.
One ky’rhan against so many people would definitely have that effect but I felt his presence in my mind so I was sure he's still alive.
Suddenly, all of them began shifting away from the body of our ship to that one spot in front of our bedroom. I got up to go see what was happening.
“Are you sure that's a good idea?” Zanyr asked after I informed the room of my decision.
“Yea, I don't really need to put my hands on the wheel to control anything, it's all in my mind and I've gotten pretty good at the defense,” I replied and they nodded. “But keep an eye out, I need to see what's going on.”
I waddled into our room and looked around the place. I used my hands and gathered telekinetic energy to move all the glasses off the floor and into the dustbin before walking further in.
Then I went to the window and looked out.
“Fuck!” I gasped.
It was like a beehive of Drakkonian soldiers with knives and swords all converging in one place.
Were they trying to wear him out or something?
Suddenly, Xavier shot out of there, and I was only able to recognize him because his head was uncovered, his eyes red and I could see how tired he already was. But the rest of his body was covered in Drakkonian armour and clothing.
I'd been thinking about making weapons like the ones we had on earth but the idea that he hadn't done this already confounded me. What if it was for a reason? If I do it without his approval and something eventually goes wrong as a result of it, I won't be able to forgive myself.
But then, even as he was teleporting in different spots in space, the Draks used their propelling shoes to jump and attack him.
He was getting pierced repeatedly in the neck no matter how he tried to get away from it on time.
“You know what? I'm just gonna do it. Fuck the consequences,” I said to myself and then closed my eyes, allowing my mind access the entire ship.
I put enough energy into protecting the ship and went back to the command room.
“Guys, I want to do something but you must be on the lookout for me,” I said to them, producing a tiny bulb out of thin air and dropping it on the table. “If that turns yellow, tap my shoulder. Other than that, no one interrupts,” I instructed them and then set to work.
I didn't want to use important materials for our survival to make weapons but right under us were two months of waste, waiting to be told what to do.
So I began to create firearms from it, instead of fixing it on top like the Draks, I placed them all under the ships exhaust pipes.
Then I started working on the bullets.
Meanwhile, my stomach was still quiet, very tiny movements letting me know I didn't need to panic but I was low-key scared.
