CHAPTER HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-THREE
The windows cracked harder than I thought as I jumped out, a tied-up version of Xavier with me.
“Hey!” I screamed, running towards them as some Ky'rhan soldiers pretended to chase after me.
I wasn't getting any attention from the shop I was running towards and I began to think I'd chosen the wrong one.
I'd gone from my bedroom window instead of the one in the command room to prevent them from catching onto our drift. But maybe this ship was just warriors and there was no person of importance in it.
I feared that all of this would be a burst soon because if there's no response from them, the plan was going to unsuccessful.
I nearly gave up as I screamed in their direction again and yet, no response.
“Help me! Please!” I yelled, going as far as choking on a sob while looking back at the unnaturally slow soldiers flying towards me.
I hit the ship’s body repeatedly, hoping for a response and when there was none, I changed direction.
“Hey!!” I yelled as I hurtled towards another one, the soldiers in hot pursuit.
Then all of a sudden, I began to hear gun shots behind me, all from the ship I'd just given up on.
They were shooting at the soldiers chasing after me.
I tightened the wards around them and they took that as their cue to turn around and run back to the Mother ship.
I stood alone in the vast darkness only brightened by lights from the warships surrounding ours. It seemed like more of them were coming, probably with the intention to decimate everything.
If we weren't so attached to the ship, I would have suggested on a one on one battle. We'd definitely win for sure and we can use their ships to attack the bastards at Zorvath that were trying to take us out without even attempting a conversation.
I had to stop the direction my thoughts were headed because I needed to keep my face in a state of extreme sadness, not anger.
Suddenly, I heard a crack from one of the ships and a door flipped open.
A heavily masked Drak floated over to me with a torch in hand.
I told Xavier to make this as realistic as possible because we'd played this game on them before and they'd be quite suspicious.
“What's a hooman doing so far away from home?” The Drak asked me as he drew closer.
“He forced me!” I exclaimed, sniffling for more effects. “He said I'm his Luminari and one day I'm with my friends and family and the next, I'm in space being made to do things. I just want to go home with my people,” I begged.
“Hmm, I would believe you woman but I've seen the damage you can do and it's not safe having you on our team,” he replied, shaking his head.
“That's why I brought him!” I exclaimed and the Drak turned around.
I moved to the side to reveal Xavier who I'd hoisted to my back.
“Oh please? Like we've not seen that trick already,” he snapped and I could swear he rolled his eyes.
“I swear this is not a trick. You don't have to trust me, just take him in exchange for the heart of the ship,” I began and he was already shaking his head when I went into the second part of the plan. “I was in love with someone else before he took over my mind and I just discovered he'd had him imprisoned all these while because of his jealousy. If you give us the heart, we'll simply turn around and head back to earth. I'll send all the stupid ky'rhans your way as a proof of gratitude,” I added the last part with as much vile as I could muster.
He stood there, looking at me.
I must have been a weird sight. Gilded in a spacesuit three times my size with a small oxygen mask and a rope holding him.
“You know we can teleport now, right?” He asked me and I nodded my head vehemently. “If I send someone in there and they find out you're playing tricks, you'll be dead before you can say jack.”
Xavier was moved to the human side of the ship and it'll take them ransacking the entire ship to find him so I nodded.
“Do whatever you need to do but please tell them to be fast, I don't have the energy you people have, I'm running out of air too,” I told him, shaking a little bit. I wasn't lying about that part.
He ignored me and pressed something on his shoulder. I didn't even notice it before. He spoke in some weird language that I didn't understand at first but after a few sentences, I began to.
It was like my mind was developing on a need to do basis. Whatever I needed, it provided. I wish it'll just wash away all my problems but wishes can't be horses I guess.
“Make sure you go to the prison and confirm the story from the prisoner,” I caught the tail end of his sentence, sending fear through me.
Corbin wasn't aware of this plan, in fact, he wasn't aware of anything. The last time I saw the guy, I'd rendered him brain dead and if he somehow healed from that, then he was going to jeopardize this entire operation.
But I couldn't say anything because I supposedly didn't understand their language.
I watched as some Draks came out of the ships around, all with guns and swords.
Fuck.
I didn't even know who to protect anymore.
I'd not thought to this extent so I didn't even know what they were going to discover in there.
“You still have the chance to come clean to me. I can still help you regardless, this ky'rhan is slated for death and everyone with him as well,” the Drakkonian general floating above me spoke, bringing me back to the present.
“This same ky'rhan killed my brother, kidnapped my father and ruined my planet before kidnapping me. I can't even imagine what he'd made me do while I was out of sorts. If anyone wants him dead, they'd have to stand in line because I'm at the front of it,” I spewed venomously to the Drak who focused on me.
“Hmm.”
So with baited breaths, I watched as Drakkonian soldiers broke the ships window, letting precious oxygen escape as they ran in to confirm my story.
If anything goes amiss, I'm definitely going to be dead. No amount of wards will be enough to protect me from the amount of firepower currently aimed at me.
