CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY-SEVEN
When Xavier got back, he was more tired than I was, considering he's the super strong ky'rhan.
“They drove you crazy, huh?” I said as I helped him undress.
“I would take a decade of fighting the deadliest beasts over this talking crap. Half of the ambassadors and representatives are smart, evolved, and easy to talk to,, and the other half? Oh my goodness!”
“Which makes the whole process longer than it needs to be,” I agreed, shaking my head.
“I was close to losing it every damn minute and no amount of breaks helped. They simply didn't want to see how they would stop oppressing their women and using lesser species as slaves and instead focus on increasing their planet with superior technology. So, you know how great we would be if we all integrated our technologies, utilizing them to their best state? That's what the other half of the Milky Way is doing, and when they need raw materials, which we don't make use of, by the way, they come over here. It's maddening,” he vented with a sigh.
“And you can't leave them behind?”
“No baby, some of them are too close and we have to prevent any internal battle at least in the next ten to fifteen years. You and I are the only defense system Zorvath has. If anything goes amiss and we're not here, everything we're working for just goes to shit. And what's worse is that they're all used to Zorvath not being one of the dumb ones, so besides the tussle of smart or dumb representatives, there are the powerful ones who are scared of having either a competition or, worse, a stronger power. I suspected that which was why I didn't want you anywhere near them. One of them can literally scent your strength from wherever he is.”
I'd finished undressing him as he spoke, and I took his hand, and we walked to the bathroom.
“Inter-planetary relationship is dicey and not something you were taught, so you probably have to start reading up on it. I've got some that might help. We don't want to set everything up over here only to lose it to aliens who think they own the galaxy,” I suggested as I began bathing him.
“You're right. If you're cool with it, I can stay in your mind while you're asleep tonight.”
The thought still made me uncomfortable, but I reminded myself we were a team, and whatever I had was his too. We both get our powers from each other anyway.
“It's okay, but you must promise to rest first before you start,” I replied as I toweled him off.
“I don't know about the rest part, Mia Cara. You're already giving me more rest than I could ever need, and besides, this thing will last for two more days, and I need us to have a sense of direction by the end of it all.”
“Don't worry, I know you and I know you've got this, okay? If you have to show your strength to let them know things are indeed different, don't hold back but I know it's important to try the talking route first.”
“Which I hate but hey, we can't go killing our possible allies now, can we?” He said with a smile, his first one since he got back.
I took his hand and led him to bed.
I'd put Xander to bed before he got back so he was actually snoring on his side of the room. Which makes sense considering how much he'd fussed the entire day. I was already building a different cot in my head that would allow me to take him to work tomorrow after the visit with the doctor
Xavier carried me in his arms and began stroking my hair, making me sigh.
“I'm glad I didn't listen to my father and just pick any random human to have my child and leave. I would have missed the chance to be with you, and you're the perfect gift from the universe to me,” he said, and even though his voice was sleepy, I knew he meant every word of it.
“I'm happy I didn't succeed in killing myself that night,” I replied with a sigh.
“Oh, that was the worst day of my existence. I have never been scared of anything that much,” he replied, his voice stronger now. “With the kidnapping, I kind of was less panicky because you have powers now but as you lay motionless in my arms that night, I can't even put the emotions I felt into words. Never do that to me again, please.”
“Oh, I won't, trust me. I thought when people said time made things better, they were just saying it but look at us now, still going through crap, sure but we've got each other and I won't want it any other way.”
“You're so sweet, and I've been so self-obsessed, I'm sorry, my love. Tell me about your day, hope those old fucks didn't give you a hard time?”
I proceeded to tell him about my day as he stroked my hair.
He has gotten close to calling the Secretary of state but I convinced him otherwise considering the time. He calmed down, though, when I told him I'd made another friend, the Architecture minister.
Her name is Alara and she's such a calm but happy woman.
“I'm thinking of putting Lily and Aran in the Ministry of Defense. Your people are too rigid and I feel they need a shock to clear their mind of all that. With two female aliens doing great things right before them, they will be forced to adjust,” I said as sleep began pulling at my eyelids.
“You're smarter than all of them baby, do what you need to do,” Xavier replied, pecking my forehead.
His hand moved from my hair, down my spine, and to my ass, and although sleep was holding me hostage, I opened my legs instinctively.
He slapped my ass a bit, making me groan and burrow deeper in his arms. He spread my ass wide, rubbing the hole, and then pulled his tail up and put it in my pussy.
He'd retracted the claw on it, leaving it rounded and thick.
I couldn't stop the loud moan that escaped my lips even if I tried.
