CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY TWO
I didn't even think twice about it; I flung him to the nearest wall with my powers and rushed to Roe, who was trying to sit up. Panic was in her eyes and I helped her back to the couch in the room.
“What the hell is happening here?” I demanded from the ky'rhan who was trying to sit up on the ground close to the door.
“They were speaking against you in the cafeteria and I told them where to shove it,” Roe began to explain. “Then he badges into my room with a knife!”
“She killed my brother, what do you expect?” He grumbled in response.
“Why didn't you join your brother in his plan to support Corbin in taking over leadership?” I demanded, crossing my hands across my chest.
“We didn't always agree on everything, but we've always got each other, and you killed him!” he yelled out loud, exasperated.
I was about to speak further when Xavier appeared right next to me. I adjusted Xander on his cot as he took in the state of the room.
“What's happening here?” he demanded, confused.
“It was his brother that tried imprisoning me at Corbin's orders and now he's trying to kill my best friend because she defended me,” I explained.
He stalled towards the ky'rhan who began backing up the wall.
“What did you expect would happen if you'd succeeded and your queen woke up the next morning, her best friend dead?” He demanded from the trembling male.
“I'm sorry, your Majesty, I wasn't thinking straight,” he begged, but Xavier shook his head.
“I would let you go since you lost your brother recently but it was no one's fault but his. You don't expect her to have stood by while he separated her from our son, so you're going to join the rest of the rebels on service duties until we settle into Zorvath; go and meet General Zyx; he'll get you occupied,” he ordered him, and he nodded and ran off.
“Thank you so much, your Majesty,” Roe thanked him, bowing her head.
“It's alright. I'm sorry you had to go through that. I'll assign a trusted guard to you so we're sure of the safety of the children. Is that okay with you?”
“Yes your Majesty, that is wonderful.”
“Where's Lisbeth?” I asked her, realizing she'd been sent during all of this.
“She went on a date with her fiance,” she announced with a beaming smile.
“Oh wow, when did he propose?”
“Right after the executions. The whole thing shook him and he didn't want to spend another moment without her.”
“That is so beautiful but now I feel guilty leaving you with two children,” I mused, feeling bad truly.
“Oh please, don't you worry. Brennan sleeps throughout the night and once Xander has enough milk, he really just wants to play around. Just make sure you're here in the morning, he gets cranky in the morning.”
I felt bad that I didn't know all of these details about my son but I wanted to spend the night alone with Xavier, reconnecting, before he had to fly away in war.
I'll have all the time to bond with him and the rest of the ship once they leave.
“Alright then,” Xavier interrupted us, wrapping an arm around my waist. “Let me steal my wife for a moment, okay?”
“Of course, she's all yours!” Roe declared, laughing.
“You sly!” I accused her, joining in the laughter.
As he whisked me away, the moment reminded me how crazy things were in this journey; one moment, you're fighting for your life,, and the next, you are laughing about it all.
It was crazy.
The second we materialized in his room, he didn't hesitate to kiss me.
“I've missed you so much it's maddening,” he rasped as he kissed my sweet spot.
My body tingled with every touch and every sweet word he whispered.
That night, be made love to me.
Not dramatic or overly ambiguous, he gave me so much to feel that even as he left me breathless, I was filled with love in every sense of the word.
He took me over and over again, with words of promises that were punctuated by moans and hums of pleasure.
By the time we were finally spent, I discovered that the feeling of sadness had been chasing me but he'd been driving it away.
However, it was here now and I felt restless even though I was in my place of peace.
My head was laid on his arms and he wrapped my body in a warm cocoon while he stroked my hair.
“I hate that I'm not going with you,” I whispered to him.
He signed and kissed my cheek before looking into my eyes.
“I know you want to help, baby, but we don't want a repeat of the last time we gave someone else control over this ship. We are the only ones we can trust so let me go and win the planet for you like I promised. It'll bring me great honor to know that I kept my word.”
“I love that about you; your obsession with being a ky'rhan of honor. It's what makes you different from everyone else. I just hate it sometimes. You never take the easy way out and you're always thinking of everyone else before you. Such an un-ky-rhan thing to do,” I chuckled a bit at the last part.
“I love you so much, baby, and I'll do everything in my power to win this war,” he promised, a strong sense of determination in his voice.
“If you have to choose between winning and living, promise me you'll live for me.”
“Baby…”
“There's no way I'm living in this world without you so you don't have a choice. Come back alive, you hear me?”
“Yes my queen,” he replied and kissed me again.
He gave Xy'thern full control and all he wanted to do was lick my pussy till I couldn't move anymore.
It was the perfect night, but when morning came, we were right before Zorvath and it was time to face reality.
