CHAPTER SIXTY-THREE

I made it through the night with not much difficulty, that is if you don't count the wetness in my panties but I made it through and that's all that matters.

What made my morning more difficult was that I went to bed with Xavier and I awoke to a different version of Xy’thern that I'd never seen before.

He was snuggling into me like a cute puppy and I couldn't for the life of me decipher why it turned me on.

Maybe it was the fact that his tail was swishing at the exposed skin at my neck or the way his furry skin grabbed me and held me tightly in his embrace, the warmest I've ever been.

Not hot or uncomfortable, just warm; or maybe that was from inside me because we were in spring and the mornings were cold.

But as I tried getting up, I ended up snuggling deeper into his arms and his morning voice, though it wasn't saying anything intelligible made me want to rub my clit on his laps.

Ugh Tessa, you bad girl!

But I needed to pee so badly so I had to do a lot more to break out of his tight hold.

“Xy’thern?” I called out, my voice needy and breathless.

Fuck, I was losing my damn mind.

“Hmm?” He rasped, his voice rumbling right into my ear drums and it seemed there was a direct tunnel that ended at my pussy because every sound that he made into my ear made me more wet than the urine that was threatening to leak out.

“I need to pee!” I exclaimed, knowing how embarrassing it'll be if it actually leaked on the damn bed.

The scream broke him out of his trance and he carried me and deposited me on the ground like I weighed nothing and I ran into the bathroom like my hair was on fire.

When I came out, the room was empty, and I sighed.

That was probably a good thing because I was feeling really embarrassed about last night and this morning. I was supposed to be angry at the man and his bipolarity but here I was, wishing he'd push his cock into me.

Something was faulty in my central processing unit and I needed to figure it out before something went terribly wrong. I wasn't even ovulating and yet, I was trying to jump a man that didn't want me.

But I think his ky’rhan did, or maybe it's my imagination doing me dirty.

I decided to focus on more important things like my responsibility towards this crumbling world and as if on cue, I heard a knock on the door and it was Theresa.

“What do you think of her? She worked for the former queen before she was forcefully retired and I think she'd be a good fit for you since she's used to doing everything herself,” Marina said, showing me a picture of a ky’rhan female in a tab, her green hair was packed out of her face, giving her a serious and very professional look.

She wore a pantsuit, shirt and a jacket and a small smile. I felt uneasy at the thought of someone affiliated with the old queen.

“Will she be kind? I don't want to work with someone who's going to feel insulted that they have to answer to a human,” I replied, adjusting my wrap skirt that I'd chosen to wear today.

I'd paired it with a flowery shirt and sandals. My crown fit into my hair nicely and Theresa actually complimented me genuinely, like she didn't believe I had a tiny bit of useful fashion sense.

“That's actually why I prefer her to the other ladies that are suitable for the job. Her father married her human mother and they're the nicest family so I doubt she'll treat you any less,” she replied with a smile.

“Okay, I'll go with her. Thank you Marina, you've been a great help,” I thanked her and she nodded before leaving my office.

My determination this morning had been in one direction; to impress Xavier so much that he'll do whatever it is I want, the first of which was to save my best friend from her horrible baby father.

I'd been trying to get a hold of her since the wedding but she was never available to talk. It scared me to death what might be going on behind closed doors.

I'd tried bringing it up with Xavier this morning but between fearing for my life on the jet and the flurry of attending to the reports he was getting about his missing father, I didn't get the chance to ask him for anything and it made me feel terrible.

Rose could be going through the absolute worst and here I was, living the perfect life.

I settled down and began studying the details of the event I was supposed to organize.

I might understand how these aliens worked since that was the only scenario I ever encountered them but the partying was a totally different situation.

The list of items needed were so strange and I didn't understand half of it and this had nothing to do with my nearly complete education.

I mean, what were they doing with handcuffs in an after party for the regional heads?

I was expecting decorations, chandeliers, food and all of that and they were actually the first half that I understood but the rest? I didn't know what they meant.

I didn't want to wait for my new personal assistant to come and discover I didn't know basic stuff like that so I decided to ask Marina who already knew my history.

I picked up my key and came out of my office.

I looked around and there were no guards, which was strange, Xavier had given me three and commanded them to super glue themselves to my existence.

I hope they didn't get fired. I wasn't going to tattle tale on them but I was heading to his office and he might ask me about them.

Anyways, that was the least of my problems because ladies and gentlemen, I was honorably lost.

“Damn!” I snapped, angry at myself for my terrible sense of direction.

I knew we'd taken a single flight of stairs which I didn't think would mean another floor, probably just a small part of the main floor that housed my office but I guess it was the smartest thing to find an elevator first.

I saw the elevator and I had a small eureka moment and was about to rush to it when I noticed something in my peripheral.

The door I'd seen yesterday that was different from all the others caught my attention. I thought about minding my damn business but it just kept nagging at me that I didn't know much about the man I married and I was ready to swallow any tiny bit of information I got about him.

And to make things more difficult, it was actually open unlike yesterday.

And what can a girl do?

Well, I don't know but I took a step in the wrong direction and went towards the steel door.
