Want To Join Me?
A lazy groan broke out From Elaine as she pried her eyes open, staring at the dark unfamiliar room she’d fallen asleep in. Her eyes darted to stare at the empty dark room before sitting up on the bed.
“He must have left,” she assumed as Xavier who’d been at her side before she fell asleep was nowhere to be found. He’d sat with her, patting her head until she fell asleep right on his watch. Oh, how she always felt comfortable whenever he was around.
Just a few days of being with Xavier, she was already getting used to his presence and everything about him. He made her comfortable more than any person she’d ever been with. Normally one would feel uncomfortable living with a stranger but in the case of Xavier, it felt right, like she’d known him all her life.
Helping herself off the hospital-sized bed, she started making her way to the bathroom after sliding her foot into the peach slippers on the floor. Just as her hand fell on the door’s handle, the door pushed open and she almost fell backward if it wasn’t for her good reflex.
“What the hell?”
Her head raised to see a dark shadow staring back at her. “Xavier?” She exclaimed, her gasp loud. She looked him over from his disheveled hair down to the black slides he wore. The man before her looked like he hadn’t gotten a wink of sleep for the past few days. He was definitely a night owl.
“Were you expecting somebody else, Doll?”
She blinked. “I wasn’t expecting anyone at all. What are you doing here?”
His brows raised. “I…I mean, didn’t you leave? I thought you left.”
“You’re chasing me out?”
“Definitely not. I was only just saying. Why would someone like you stay in a hospital instead of your king-sized bed at your house.”
“I didn’t complain, did I? I’d rather stay here.” He let out a breath. “With you.”
Elaine felt her ears reddening. She bit her lips, bit down her smile, and replied. “You really didn’t have to stay here with me. I’m fine all alone.” When was the last time anyone stayed with her while she was sick? She couldn’t even remember anyone being with her in a hospital.
“Why are you up?” He looked her over.
“I was going in there. I needed to wash my face. And you?”
“Was going to have a shower when I heard your noise.”
She nodded. “Okay. Go on, I’ll wait till you’re done.”
She held her hand to the door, signaling him to go have his bath as she turned to return to her bed. Before she could take more than a few steps, his words got to her. “Want to join me in here?”
Her eyes grew wide. She turned. “What?”
“I don’t mind you joining, you know. Or watching if you don’t want to join.”
Her eyes fell on the sly smirk plastered on his lips, communicating with her just the kind of thoughts he had in his mind, thoughts that didn’t seem innocent to her. Xavier Romano was anything but innocent. With her eyes glued to his, she made her way back to him, her eyes fixated on him.
Just when he thought she was going to join him in the bathroom or perhaps watch him shower, she placed her hands on his chest before shoving him into the bathroom and locking the door after him so that they stood apart, the door separating them.
“Shameless.” She spoke loudly, a roar of laughter reverberating from the bathroom. Elaine made her way back to the bed, lying down and covering herself with the blanket, her head filled with the thoughts of the man who was having his shower in the bathroom.
Her ears were filled with the sound of the sound of showers running and she couldn’t stop her thoughts from moving in a different direction.
What would it feel like to have his body pressed to hers again after what seemed like forever? Having to run her hands over his abs and find out just how bad they were. The last time, she’d been drunk, she could barely remember just how perfectly his body felt on hers, how he worked her perfectly and played with her body just the right ways.
‘Goddamn it, Elaine, what the hell are you thinking?’ She slapped her head with her palm, scolding herself for thinking that way. It was so unlike her to think of someone railing against her desperately. She wasn’t the kind of woman who’d throw herself at a man or have fantasies about a man but for Xavier Romano, she guess every woman has such thoughts about him and she wasn’t an exception in his case.
After what felt like forever, the door of the bathroom finally slid open and he strode out in all his glory, wet and dangerously attractive. His upper body was exposed to her and the lower was covered by his filthy pants she wished had been tossed by him just like his shirt.
Her eyes shamelessly scanned him from his wet black hair down to his chest, trailing the water that ran from his hair to his broad chest. The drop of water cascaded down his navel before disappearing into his pants. Her throat bobbed up and down.
“One would think you regret not having a shower with me.”
Her eyes immediately snapped to his face. His brows were raised, a smirk playing on his lips, one that caused something deep in her to erupt. She quickly snapped her eyes away from his and turned to the side. “I wasn’t looking.”
She heard his footsteps draw closer to her, his scent filling her nostrils, her hands gripping the blanket tighter. Xavier strode to her bedside and his hand fell on both sides of the bed caging him in as his lips leaned in on her ear.
“You know you can feast on me all you want.”
“Wh…what?” She avoided his gaze.
“I’m yours just as you’re mine.”
“I don’t kn…know what you’re talking about. I’m going back to bed, goodnight.” She turned to her stomach, away from him, her eyes closing tightly. She felt his body push away from hers. A loud chuckle came from him and she felt his presence on the couch in the room.
“Goodnight, Doll.”
