Grandmother’s Birthday
~A week later~
“You know that this is a bad idea, right?” Xavier groaned as their car rolled into the parking lot of the Romano mansion. His fist was clenched around the steering wheel as he passed Elaine a disapproving look.
“What is?”
“This whole thing. Our being here.”
“Xavier, it’s your grandmother’s birthday, tomorrow. You can’t miss it for the world.”
“Trust me, we can. We could curl up in our bed all day and watch those scary movies that we love so much instead of being in this place. I don’t fancy it here.”
“Your mother had made it compulsory.” Waving Xavier’s worry, she grabbed her bag on the back seat of the car and brought it to her thighs, getting ready to elope from the car at a go-ahead from Xavier. It was the birthday party of the oldest woman in the family the next day and they’d been given instructions to make sure that they show up.
It had taken a total of three days to convince Xavier that they really had to attend if they didn’t want to anger the older woman and the guests who would be awaiting his arrival. But he still wasn’t convinced. She knew that party wasn’t Xavier’s thing and it wasn’t hers too but it was an important ceremony. The eighty-first birthday party of the woman. It wouldn’t look good if they decided not to attend when everyone else was attending.
“We can just convince her.” He angled his body to her, wrapping his hands around her waist and pulling her to him, his hands weaving through her thick hair that was left to cascade over her exposed shoulders. “Think about it, just me and you, curled up for the rest of today and tomorrow, in each other’s embrace.” His lips rode down to her neck and he suckled on the skin, leaving his mark and smiling in satisfaction. “Doing nothing other than fucking. You’d love that too, wouldn’t you?”
Elaine leaned further into his arms, wanting the feel of his skin on hers. His offer seemed so tempting that she felt the temptation to agree with him and let him drive out of the mansion back to theirs. She would love to be buried under him with his cock pounding into her over and over again. But that was what they’d been doing for the past week. Fucking, and her body now hurt like hell. They needed to attend to their responsibilities.
And so, she placed her hands on his chest and pushed him away lightly. Xavier groaned and returned to his chair, throwing his head back on the headrest and letting out a groan.
“Elaine, why so stubborn?”
She opened her side of the car. “You’re the stubborn one. We’ve been having sex for the past week. Out, now,” her voice was cute yet stern as she ordered.
“Was that an order, doll?”
“It was.”
He raised his brow but still opened his door and sighed. “Out of the bedroom is the only place you can order me around, huh? I’ll advise you to use this privilege to your satisfaction for I do not plan to let you go when I get you under me again.”
Elaine threw herself out of the car and began making her way to the entrance of the mansion which had its door opened widely and two servants at each side to welcome them.
The servants led them past the living room, heading toward the dining hall. The door was opened for them and their eyes fell on the already seated family members ready for dinner. Placing a possessive hand around the small of Elaine’s back at the sight before him, he stepped slowly to his grandmother at the head of the table and bowed lightly.
“Happy birthday in advance, grandmother.”
Elaine did the same. “Happy birthday in advance, grandmother.”
The woman nodded at them, her lips stretched in a smile. She gestured for Eliane to come to her and she did just that. She broke away from Xavier’s side and walked to the old woman, bending slightly to hug the older woman and kissing her on the cheek. They smiled. “Thank you for coming, dear. You look heavenly.”
“And you look three times younger, ma’am. You’re aging backward.”
“That is so sweet of you. Take your seats you both.” The woman gestured to the seats beside her. Elaine’s eyes finally had the chance to look around the table, tracing each and every person seated. To the grandmother’s left were Xavier’s parents followed by Margaret. To the end right were Jimmy and Ria who had their faces down, not raising their heads to look at the new corners.
Her eyes fell on Ria’s bump, acknowledging the sight. Her tummy had grown bigger since the last time that they met. If she wasn’t calculating wrongly, Ria must be at the start or middle of her third trimester already.
She took her seat beside Xavier and smiled at Mrs Romano who did the same. The servants rolled into the hall with the tray of food in their hands, placing them on the table and once they were done, they lowered their heads and left the room, leaving the family to themselves. Elaine’s eyes traced the delicious placing of foods on the table and she felt her mouth watered.
“Who made these?” She heard Xavier’s voice resound from beside her and she let out a sigh. Ever so protective of her. He wouldn’t let her eat until he confirmed that each meal was safe to eat by her.
“I cooked with Margi and a few of the servants,” Mrs Romano informed. “Don’t worry, everything is safe. I supervised by myself.”
Margaret let out a sigh from beside the woman. She angled her head to stare at Elaine and spoke. “The foods are safe. There’s no peanuts and you’re definitely not pregnant anymore so you’re surely not going to die. No poison, just food. I won’t stoop so low to end you after everything. Besides, I only cooked because mother asked. It’s not like I enjoy cooking in the first place.”
