Fake A Miscarriage

“How long were you planning to keep this from us?” Emily clamped her eyes shut and asked the question that had been on her mind. “How long, Ria?”

“For as long as I could. I planned to keep it for as long as I could,” she spoke with her head lowered.

“And then? What did you plan to do when your due date reached?”

“I planned to fake a miscarriage close to my due date. Now that I’ve been found out and everyone knows there is no baby, you all can keep your fake kindness to yourself.”

“Don’t you dare call anyone’s kindness fake? We took care of you even before you lied about your pregnancy. Our kindness only lengthened when you lied, don’t you see?”

Ria let out a sigh, wiped her eyes, and swiveled around to face Jimmy. “If you feel hurt that I lied to you about having a child, you reflect on your own actions too. And no, I’m not sorry for you, not even the least. Do you even think about taking a moment to care about me?”

“Of course. I care about you a lot.”

“That’s because of the baby.”

“I cared even before the baby.”

“The person that you actually love is my sister and she’s behind you. She’s the one that you think about all the time and Ben when we’re having sex, you moan her name almost all the goddamn time, Jimmy. You pushed me to do this so don’t even think of complaining.”

“Can this end?” Elaine intervened. It wasn’t so nice hearing someone speak about someone else moaning her name while having sex with another. The fuck, it was cringy as fuck. Jimmy was the last person she would ever imagine herself with. He was the mistake of her immaturity.

“It has ended already. I’m leaving. I’m out of here.” Ria walked past Jimmy, heading toward the entrance of the mansion, her feet walking fast and shaky.

“Ria!” She stopped at her mother’s call, cocking her head to the side to watch hers “You have nothing to say to me?”

“I need to find myself somewhere, Mother. Forgive me but I should leave now.”

Passing everyone a last look, she returned her gaze to the entrance and raced out of the house. Jimmy glared at the baby bump on the floor before calling at her. “Ria! Ria!”
He raced after her, storming out of the mansion to chase after Ria. Once they both got out of the mansion, Emily slumped on the nearest couch, clenching her hair in her hand. She groaned.

“My job here is gone. I should leave now.” Margaret spoke. “This might be the last time that we’ll see each other as a family because I for sure isn’t going to take back such a girl in my home.”

But Bianca didn’t want that for her daughter, did she? She stepped before Margaret and held her palm in hers. “Please forgive my daughter. I apologize on her behalf. It is my fault for not bringing her up in a good way. I should’ve watched over her more. I’m sorry.”

“You’re a good woman, Bianca. But my son deserves so much more.”

Elaine scoffed from behind. “I think that they deserve each other. After all, it’s not new news that he did the same to me. He deceived me too. I don’t think you both should be angry at Ria at the moment. Instead, you should ship them more because I wonder who’ll accept any of them again.”

“What are you saying?”

“It’s the truth, Margi.”

Letting out a deep breath, she pulled her hands away from Bianca. “I’ll take my leave.”

With that she walked out of the house, closing the door with a bang after her. Left in the large living room were Emily, Elaine, and their mother. Elaine watched her mother and her sister as they closed their eyes with their palms and forced their tears back. She walked up to Emily and placed a hand on her back, patting it gently while trying to console her. She knew that it was hard for Emily. Finding out that Ria wasn’t who she deceived them all to be. She wasn’t the cute youngest daughter of the Rock family nor is she innocent in any way.

Emily raised her head upward to stare at Elaine. Her eyes were red and swollen from the tears and her makeup smeared through her face. She held Elaine’s palm and patted it in regret. “This is my fault, Elaine. It’s my fault.”

“It’s not, don’t speak like that.”

“If I’d looked after our baby sister more, she wouldn’t have turned out to be such a monster. I was so blinded by her lies that I didn’t even realize that you were suffering too. I didn’t realize just how much she was trying to get me to her side alone. She even tried to kill you. God.”

“It’s fine. I’m fine now and everyone is doing okay. You tried your best on Ria and that’s all that matters.”

“You tried so hard to warn me.”

“I tried to tell you to be careful with her. But I understand. She’s our sister and…and you love her so much.”

Emily clenched her fist around the couch and slowly, she stood up and faced Elaine. She was going to face it all, she was going to make up for the mistakes that she made all these while. The mistake of trusting Ria and never scolding her when she did wrong things. If she’d known Ria would turn out to be so bad, she wouldn’t smack her all the time when she did something wrong, she shouldn’t have pampered her so much.

“I’m sorry, Elaine. Forgive me for everything.”
