I'll Bring The Romano Family Down
“She’s going to do no such thing. She doesn’t hate me. She understands,” Bianca refuted, her voice loud and clear.
“Doesn’t hate you? She came here because of Xavier. Elaine wants nothing to do with us, I should let you know. Sister Emily, you better stand on your toes now because she might just attack our company.”
Emily stood up, her fingers weaving through her thick black hair. “She’s not going to do that, right? I’m working so hard to bring the company back on its feet.”
“You have to work harder now that the she-devil is pregnant.” Ria wrapped a hand around her chest. Her family needed to know what they were getting at. And as for her, she needed as much support as she could get at the moment even though they were practically useless as they were broke. Tell me what use broke people were to her except for occupying space?
“Mother, I think Ria is kind of right,” Emily agreed. “Elaine doesn’t like us anymore now that we’re not on her side.”
“Enough!”
“Mother.” Ria held her hands, trying too hard to get her to her side. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you when Elaine bites you so hard you’ll cry, okay?”
“You’re the one who is misunderstanding things. It’s all in your head. She’s not going to do anything.”
“You mean that I’m crazy?” Ria’s eyes grew wide.
“I didn’t…”
“You mean I’m nuts?” She cried.
“Ria, calm down.”
“Nobody likes me, I said it.” She clutched her hair. “Mother said I’m crazy. Nobody wants me around. Everyone hates me.”
Before anyone could try to stop her, she climbed the stairs to her room, pushing the door open and screaming her heart out, and kicking her bed frame several times until her legs started hurting. Emily and Jimmy rushed into the room.
“Ria, stop it, don’t forget you’re pregnant.” Emily dragged her away from the bed.
“Pregnant, pregnant, pregnant,” screamed at the top of her voice. “That’s all I ever hear the fucking time. No one really likes me. No one cares.”
Jimmy stepped in front of her. “You know that’s not true.”
“Oh shut up.”
He was the worst thing to ever happen to her.
“Calm down, okay. I’ll leave you to Jimmy’s care.”
Emily stepped out of the room, going downstairs to maybe scold her mother and bring her to Ria’s side.
Once Emily got out of the room, she brought her gaze to Jimmy. He walked to her and hugged her tightly, kissing her hair. The man that she married because of his family’s status, for the power and money that followed. But it seemed ever since she got married into the family, everything collapsed. She didn’t get the power and wealth she married Jimmy for.
And so, her dear husband was useless for the meantime. He was as good as dead to her and the sight of him every day ruins her mood even more than Elaine does.
“I’ll set things right again, baby, I promise,” he said against her hair. “I’ll make sure that things get to our favor soon. For our baby, I’ll bring the Romano family down, okay?”

“How is my wife doing,” Xavier asked, speaking to the person on the other line.
Grace replied. “Mrs Romano has been doing great sir, I’ve been watching over her.”
“Good then.” He ended the call and returned his gaze to the stack of files on his desk. He was unable to stop thinking about his wife. She filled his head way more than anything does. Whenever he closes his eyes, she gets into his mind, her smiles, her laughter, her words, everything about her.
Ever since he met her as Jimmy’s girlfriend, he’d been unable to get the girl out of his mind, the girl who was his Nephew’s girlfriend. That was why he grabbed the chance immediately he saw it, the chance to be her helper, the one she relies on, the chance to be her husband, the father of her kids.
The previous day when he found out she was pregnant, good lord, he’d been shocked to the core. He thought he needed to get her heart before putting his baby in her but as chance could have it, the smart baby already found its place before he had to say it.
If he thought that his little doll filled his head before, he didn’t know what to say after finding out about the baby. She consumed him whole, the very thought of her. Twenty-four-seven, she filled his head, not giving space for the stack of files on his desk.
Finally having enough of the staring competition going on between his files and him, he stood up from his chair, determined to return to his wife.
He’d reluctantly peeled himself from bed, from his wife, and returning to her was all he wanted to do.
“Boss,” his secretary called as he walked out of the office.
“I’m closing early today. Take care of the rest things.”
“Yes sir.”
He made his way to the parking lot but soon stopped when he felt someone behind him.
Xavier turned, the lot quiet.
He began walking again but stopped when the feeling became too much. He turned, dug his hand into his pocket, and called. “Whoever you are, come out.”
Slowly, a hoodie-covered being walked out of the back of a car and stood before him, his head lowered.
“Who are you? Speak before I break those bones of yours that helped you break into my company.”
The man pulled the hoodie off his head, revealing his face to Xavier. He raised a brow.
“To what do I owe this displeasure, Jimmy?”
