Little Miss Romano

“Xavier wants us to start trying for another baby.” Elaine giggled as she spoke into Beth’s ears. She had her hand locked around Beth’s arms as they both made their way into the shopping mall, their eyes scanning the different luxurious stores that almost pulled them in.

“Really? That means we can start hoping for a little Miss Romano again? Oh my goodness, I’m so happy.”

“We’re still thinking about it though. Do you think we should try for one?”

“Of course. There is nothing stopping you at the moment. I missed your bump and cravings that you get.” She paused. “But didn’t the doctor say that it might be a little bit challenging to have a baby again?”

“He said so but I’m being positive. I know that if we try again, there is a possibility that I will conceive. I’m sure about that. Let’s go this way.”
She pulled Beth into a Channel shop, their mouths falling open at the new edition of bags and clothes that their eyes fell on. “Wow, Beth. Enough about the baby. These are new editions. Look at this bag.” She picked a blue bag and showed it to her friend, her eyes glistening in excitement.

The salesperson walked toward them. “Welcome madams. Can I help you with anything?”

“Is this new? How long?”

“This just came into the shop yesterday. You'll be the first person if you take it.”

Beth held the bag and looked at the price tag, almost choking when she saw the amounts of zeros on it. It was freaking expensive. “Jesus, this is costly.”

“How much is it?” She pushed the bag to Elaine. “Oh wow.”

“Since you get to buy it first, we can give you a discount of twenty percent. How about that?”

“Fair enough.” She smiled at the girl. “We’ll take two of it.” Excitedly, the sales person took the bags and proceeded to the table to wrap them in pretty shopping bags.

Beth nudged Elaine on her waist and whispered. “Girl, you’re going to break the bank. This might make us both broke.”

Elaine laughed and then whispered back. “Not my card, of course. Xavier’s.” She pulled the card out of the bag and raised it to Beth’s face.
Beth squealed in excitement. “Oh my, I almost forgot that you’re married to THE Xavier Romano. Doesn’t this mean we can shop as we like?”

“As always. It’s unlimited.”

“You must stay with that man till death.”

They spent an hour shopping different items in the mall and by the time they got out, they held shopping bags that almost brought them to the floor. They were way too heavy. With smiles on their faces, they placed the bags on the floor behind their car and opened the boot before carrying the items into it.

“Yeah. The only thing that can make me happy is new things,” Elaine spoke.

“And me too. This is the only thing that can make my week as bright as the stars. Thanks, ma’am.”

“You’ll revive a spank.” They laughed and closed the boot before turning around to get into their sides of the car but before Elaine could get into the front passenger seat, a hand pulled her backward and slammed the door closed.

Her eyes widened and immediately, she tried to get out of the person’s hold. “Let go of…” she trailed off as her eyes raised to stare at who it was, a relieved sigh did she let out. She wasn’t relieved that it was who it was, she was relieved that it wasn’t a total stranger.

Roughly pulling her hands away, she wrapped her hand around her chest. “What do you want? How did you find me?”

She glared at the man like he was some piece of shit. Perhaps he was? He was looking way more disheveled than she’d ever seen him before. His hair was everywhere around his head, needed a wash even and his skin was left without any moisturizer. The dark circles under his eyes proved to her that he had a wink of sleep all throughout the night.

While they dated, she knew Jimmy was particular about his looks. He never left the house without confirming that he looked almost on par with a model, at least to himself. But here he was, looking like the opposite of his previous self.

“I was stalking. I’m sorry.”

“You were what? You don’t want your uncle to find out.”

Just as she finished her words, she saw a few of Xavier’s shadow bodyguards storming toward them. Once they got to them, they grabbed Jimmy and pulled him backward away from her. He struggled to get away from them. “I have something to say. Listen to me, just a minute.”

“What do you have to say to her?” Beth fired down behind her. Just leave.”

Elaine raised her hand to stop them, causing them to let him go. “You have five minutes to start speaking. Just start now.”

One of the body guards stretched his hand between them to keep Jimmy from crossing the line. Jimmy lowered his head and began. “I’m sorry for everything. For what happened some time ago and now. Also for what happened with Ria. I’m a dick, I admit. If you forgive me, I swear to be loyal to you forever.”

“Just go straight to the point.”

He combed his fingers into his hair, his eyes red as he tried to blink back his tears. “Xavier. I need his help. You’re the only one who can help me right now.”

“He’s your uncle. Go speak to him and not me.”

“He’s your husband and he only fucking listens to you. Just you. Please help me speak to him. For the sake of family, he should know that I need his help.”

“I can’t help you. Good luck in whatever you want to do in life.”

“It’s Ria!” He spat, his voice loud.
“She’s fucking threatening my life. God I regret her so much. I need money to pay her off. She’s blackmailing me and she’s planning to impose war on everyone.”

“Ria?”
