Exposing Ria 1
Once the car rolled into the Rock’s mansion, Elaine threw herself out of the car, grabbed her bag, and strode to the front door of the mansion. The door was pushed open by the door servant and she stepped in to see Emily on a phone call, her back to her.
Sensing a presence in the room, Emily turned around to face her. She frowned as her eyes fell on Elaine and she spoke to the person on the other line.
“Let me call you later.”
She stepped forward to Elaine. Elaine looked her over from her perfectly styled hair to the two-piece black suit pants that she wore. She looked like she just returned from the company. “Elaine, it’s you.” She raked he eyes over Elaine’s appearance.
“Hi, how are you doing?”
Emily nodded. It was a little bit awkward between them and she found herself fiddling with her fingers in nervousness. “Come in.”
They both stepped into the living room and Elaine took a seat on a couch while Emily stood before her. “Do you want anything? Coffee or tea, I’ll get it immediately.”
“It’s fine, Ems,” she said and raised her head. “You don’t have to do any of that. Besides, I’m not a visitor here, am I?”
“Mother said…”
“That if anyone gets married they’re no longer a full member? Forget it, we’re still family no matter what happens between us and I can get my own coffee if I want to.”
Emily finally nodded. She stepped to a couch and sat, crossing her legs together before returning her attention to her sister. “So why are you here, Elaine? You never visit. Is something the issue? Did you have issues with your husband?”
“There are no such issues. I’m here for something important. There is something y’all have to know. Is mother around.”
Just in time, their mother came into view, clinging the stairs downward to the living room. Her eyes almost popped out of their sockets as she stared at her daughters sitting together in the living room. She immediately walked to Elaine’s side. Elaine rose from her seat and accepted the hug of the older woman who cradled her head and hugged her tightly.
“Oh my dear, you’re here. It really is you?”
“It’s me, ma. How have you been?”
“Don’t bother about me. What happened? Why are you here? Did you have a problem with your husband? I can talk to him if you want me to.”
Elaine sighed. Why did they both think that she had issues with Xavier? And even if she did, she wasn’t returning home for sure. “It’s not like that, mother. I have something more important to tell you both.”
“Something important?”
She nodded, pulling away from the hug. She faced both women and began. “The thing is about Ria. Ria has been keeping a huge secret from us all this while.”
“What?”
Emily rose from the couch and walked to stand before her mother and sister. She passed Elaine a look of disapproval. “Don’t do that, Elaine. Don’t be as childish as our Ria. The issue with her should’ve ended a long while ago.”
“It would’ve if she didn’t do all of that. It would’ve ended if she hadn’tkeeping something huge secret from everyone all this while. Ria is keeping something that might break this family, I’m telling you.”
“Fine! Let’s hear you. What is Ria keeping that is so bad.”
“Ria lied about…” the door of the mansion burst open in full force, the door banging against the wall as two figures walked into the house. The three women frowned at the new people at the door, their eyes widening. Elaine watched as Margaret grabbed Ria’s wrist by the door and pulled her forward.
She led her forward and pushed her to the floor once they got to Elaine and the two women beside her.
“Margaret,” Emily roared and ran to Ria’s side on the floor followed by their mother. They both glared at Margaret, their chest heaving up and down in anger. “How could you push a pregnant woman to the floor, Margaret? Are you trying to harm my sister?”
Margaret wrapped her hands around her chest and watched as Bianca and Emily helped Ria up, smothering her dead.
Ria’s cheeks were stained with tears and she hugged her mother, breaking down in tears before everyone. “Mother, please don’t listen to whatever it is that anyone says. Only believe me, please.”
“What is going on? Can someone speak?” Bianca roared. If someone didn’t tell her what the issue was at the moment, she was going to go crazy from overthinking. She pulled Ria from her embrace and held her at arm’s length. “Child, you can talk to Mommy. What is going on?”
Margaret gave Ria no chance to speak. She stormed to the women and snatched Ria’s hands from Bianca before pushing her to the floor again, eliciting a scream from everyone except Elaine who stood at the side and watched the scene play out before her eyes. She couldn’t help the smirk that settled on her lips at the sight of Ria’s panicked attitude.
“Do you want to kill the baby who is your grandchild?” Bianca yelled, walking over to Margaret and pushing her backward. “I swear if anything happens to my daughter and grandchild, I’ll make sure you pay for it.”
“I used to care so much about her until I learned the truth about this girl. She’s a fucking snake, one who would learn her lesson today.”
The next person to walk into the Rock mansion was Jimmy. His eyes traced everyone in the room, trailing from Emily to Bianca, to Elaine, and finally settling on Ria on the floor. Like everyone else who didn’t know the truth, his eyes grew wide and he rushed to Ria. “What the hell is going on here? Who pushed my wife to the floor? Baby, are you okay? Do you hurt anywhere?” He cupped her cheek and spoke lovingly to her.
“I did. I pushed her.”
“Mother?
