France, Paris, Germany Or England

Striding to the dining where her Fiancé had already started eating, Elaine sat down astride him, watching as he arranged the food carefully on the table, her mouth watering at the sight. Without thinking twice, she dug into the food, slicing a part of the spare ribs, she brought it up to her mouth, savoring the taste.

“Hmm, I think the person who made this must have magic in their hands.”

Xavier hummed, ignoring her presence and scrolling through his phone. Shrugging, she ate the rice and spare ribs together, legs giggling in excitement. Back at the Romano manor, she’d gotten ready to feast on the meal. There’d been different delicacies laid on the table but Margaret had ruined her mood, causing her appetite to disappear with just a word from her. She must be a pro at ruining people’s moods.

She used to think mother-in-laws were the worst but it didn’t seem that way anymore. Sister-in-laws were worse. She'd rather not have a sister-in-law like Margaret. It was a good thing Ria took her spot and ended up becoming Margaret’s daughter-in-law and not her. She’d escaped narrowly from their trap.

Giggling, she pictured Ria’s looks when she complained about her useless mother-in-law. Maybe that was karma paying her back for cheating with Jimmy. She'd taken her unfortunate spot fortunately and that was a huge relief on Elaine's part. Also, her own soon to be mother in law wasn't bitchy like Margaret else, she wouldnt know what to do. Managing more than one enemy was already a big deal.
“What’s funny?” Xavier frowned. She quickly stopped smiling.

“No…nothing.”

“Is that why you stopped eating?”

Her eyes drifted to the fork between her fingers that was halfway to her mouth.

“I didn’t.” She averted the fork to her mouth.

Before Xavier could press further, the blaring sound from his phone reverberated throughout the dining. He pressed the green button, placing the phone close to his ears.

“Boss,” the person from the other side greeted.

“There better be an update.”

“It’s good news, sir. The job has been done.”

A smile broke out from Xavier’s lips at the announcement. Nodding, he asked. “How many trucks?”

“Three trucks of gold bars, sir. They’re being delivered to your warehouse now. The boys made sure to get the work done smoothly, we have to give them a cut.”

“Hand them half a truck. I’ll pass out instructions after it gets to the location, get it?” The call ended.

Elaine’s eyes widened at the conversation that leaked to her ears, hands trembling at his words. Gold? Truck of gold? Goodness, just how rich was Xavier Romano that he would give half a truck of gold to his boys? Does he perhaps keep gold bars in his house? Good lord, just what exactly was she getting into? She was getting married to a goddamn rich billionaire.

Clenching her dress tightly, she continued with her meal, soon forgetting the wonders of Xavier’s wealth.

“We’ll be going on a three-day honeymoon after our wedding,” Xavier stated. “Get prepared.”

She spat back the spoonful of soup she took a sip from. “What? Three days?”

“You heard me.”

“You’re going to take a three-day break from work?” A gasp left her lips. “Didn't they say that you are a workaholic? One who never takes breaks?”

“Not when it’s our honeymoon.”

“Yo…you don't have to do this. I mean, it’s not like we are having a real wedding or something. None of these are real so you don’t have to take a break because of me.” She didn’t mind about these things. She wasn’t a fan of vacations either and was just a workaholic like him. They both shouldn’t take a break from work because of a fake wedding.

“And who said I'm taking a break for you? You flatter yourself too much, doll.”

“I…I wasn’t. It’s the same thing.”

“Tell me, doll. Where do you want our honeymoon? France, Paris, Germany, or England, just name it and I’ll make the preparation.”

“What? I get to choose?”

“Who else if not you?”

“I don’t mind being anywhere. You can make the preparations anywhere of your choice.”

“What do you want, doll?”

She rolled her eyes, fork snapping on the table. Sighing, Elaine glared at him. “Make that choice yourself. You haven’t made any suggestion in this so-called wedding of ours.” It wasn’t just her wedding, it was his. She was already indebted to him and it was as if he was adding more debt to her after all, he wouldn’t use her money, would he? “I don’t like it when just one party is satisfied.”

Standing up from the chair, she began to make her way toward the living room, away from Xavier but before she could take more than a few steps, she felt his hand around her wrist yanking her backward.

“What, Xavier.”

His large palm fell on her throat, riding it upward until it got to her face. He caressed her cheek and white his thumb, he stroked her soft plump lips that parted lightly for him. Bending his back so that he was face to face-with her, Xavier grunted. “When I ask you something, you reply correctly instead of being a brat, okay?”

Shivers ran down her spine at his words, her legs trembling as his lips caught her ears, biting and sucking, earning a moan from her. His hold on her tightened at each attempt she took to free herself from his hold. “Tell me, do you understand?” His breathy whisper almost made her legs lose their footing and if it wasn’t for Xavier’s hold, she would have fallen putty on the floor.

Slowly, she nodded.

“Now where would you love to have our honeymoon?”

“Pa…Paris.”

He smirked. “Not that hard, was it?” He patted her hair. “That’s like my good girl.”

Removing his thumb from her lips, he replaced it with his lips, kissing her for a while before breaking away. Giving her a last look, he strode out of the living room leaving her in a state of shock, staring into space.
