Gold In Your Stomach
Elaine let out a stretch as her eyes fluttered open the next morning. She lazily sat up on the bed, her eyes on the space where the man had laid before she fell asleep. He must have left for the company. Last night was long. After making her cum once in the bathroom, he carried her to the bed and made her cum twice again. Goddamn, the man was like a god of sex, managing to get her wet from just the single thought of him.
Feeling a morning sickness rise up her belly, she made her way out of bed, sliding on her flip-flops as she strode to the bathroom.
After splashing water on her face, she stared at her appearance in the mirror. Was that a light she saw in her eyes? Her usual dead eyes were sparkling, no longer sad and looking. Was it perhaps Xavier’s effect? Her eyes fell on a note stuck in the mirror. Stretching, she peeled it off, reading the text written on the note.
‘Bet you had a good night's rest. I’ll give you a call.’ A blush immediately crept up her cheek, her hands clutching her chest. Lord, since when did he start leaving cheesy notes and making her head beat like crazy?
She needed to tell him if he continued, she wouldn’t be responsible for her falling in love with him. She needed to warn him to stop doing things that made her heart flutter like crazy. Squealing, she slipped the note into the waste bin and stepped out of the bathroom. She made her way out of the room, climbing down the stairs to Grace.
“Good morning, ma’am.”
“Hi, Grace.”
Grace walked up to her with a mug in her hand and handed it over.
“What is this?” She sniffed at it.
“Mrs Romano insists you take this every day. She said it’s medicinal.”
“Oh. It looks bitter.”
“Only then it’ll work.”
Elaine held her nose together, angling the mug and emptying its contents in her mouth.
“I’m having a friend come over soon. Please prepare for her.” She informed Grace. Well, Beth had insisted she come over to Xavier’s mansion for the first time. She wouldn’t dare say no to Beth, knowing how pressing she can be. She’d definitely insist on having things her way.
“Of course.”

At exactly noon, Beth was ushered by the servants into the mansion, her mouth wide open as she stared at her surroundings. Once they stepped into the living room, she gasped, her hands tingling to touch the interiors of the house.
“Please sit, ma’am will join you soon.”
Hesitantly, she sat on the plush couch, dropping her handbag beside her, her eyes still scanning the living room. She was right, Romano's wealth knew no bounds and just the sight of the living room told her all she wanted to know. They were fucking billionaires, keepers. Her eyes fell on the gold vases that sat in each corner of the living room. Someone reminds her to plead with Elaine for one on her way out. They were fucking beautiful.
She shot up from the couch right when she saw Elaine stepping down the stairs, her smile wide.
“Beth, you’re here.”
She rushed to help her down the stairs. “Careful, you’re carrying gold in your stomach.”
Elaine laughed. “It’s not like I’m going to fall.”
“Nah, girl. But if I have something like that in me, I’ll walk on roses only. That’s an empire in there.”
“My child is not a thing okay? Come here.” She pulled Beth in for a short hug and only after she had enough of her friend’s skin did she lead her to the couch. They sat.
“Girl, you didn’t tell me you live somewhere like this. Ohmigod, I’m not leaving here. This feels like heaven.”
“Thank you.”
“How dare you still complain even after having this much wealth around you.” If it were herself, she would zip her mouth with a Louis Vuitton zip bag and wouldn’t dare complain about anything. The wealth alone was enough to satisfy her.
“What? I can’t complain anymore?”
“You better not leave this man, girl. He’s an asset. Tell me how things played out. You’re having the baby, right? Spill the tea.”
“Of course, I’m keeping the baby. It’s my baby.”
“Oh thank God,” she let out a sigh. “I’m protecting my goddaughter with everything in me. Look at this bump.”
Beth bent to touch Elaine’s stomach in the large polo that she wore, her hands feeling her stomach.
“There’s no bump yet, Beth.”
“Soon. She’ll grow up pretty fast.”
“And who says it’s a girl?”
“I know that. I just know. Anyways, spill the tea you have for me.”
Elaine burst out into laughter. Her friend seemed eager to find out the little details from her. Rising from the couch, she signaled for Beth to stand up. “We’ll talk over lunch.”
“Oh right. I forgot I didn’t have anything for breakfast.”
They entered the kitchen, Beth settling in a chair, her stomach rumbling at the aroma.
“Here, have this while Grace prepare things,” Elaine said, placing a mug of tea on the table before Beth. She stared at the tea, her eyes closing as she breathed in the scent.
“Are you sure this is for drinking?” She turned to Elaine.
“What else will it be for? Stop joking.”
“It smells so nice. Where is it from?”
“It’s from my mother-in-law. I heard she got it in India, who knows? She’s a sweetheart.”
“I’m sure that’s the case.”
