I Asked, And I Got It
The wedding of Ria and Jimmy was a slightly small affair. The wedding happened so soon and they somehow didn’t have the time to plan properly. Although it was slightly a small party compared to Ria’s dreams, she still didn’t miss out on inviting almost all the prestigious people she could think of. Elite men and women dressed in ridiculously tight dresses, clapped as the wedding reception commenced.
“Congratulations, Ria.” Ria whirled to the side to see her sister, Emily behind her. They engaged in a tight hug.
“Sister Emily, thank you for coming,” Ria greeted.
“Why would I? My baby sister is getting married, of course, I’ll be present. You look so good in this wedding dress.”
“I do?” Ria looked at herself, a wide smile plastering on her lips at her sister’s compliment. Of course, she would look good, she was Ria Rock after all. There was no way she wouldn’t look good on her very own wedding day.
The sparking white body hug wedding dress that she wore was one of the most expensive that she found. She looked so pretty and classy in it and she could feel the eyes of almost all the girls in the ballroom stare at her in envy.
“You look like our mother’s daughter.”
“It’s my wedding day, I’ll definitely look good. Where’s Mother?”
“Must be busy entertaining the guests. You know, mother is so excited.”
They both laughed. “Alright Ria, time for your first dance with your husband. Go on, go to him.”
Ria’s cheeks reddened as she took slow steps toward Jimmy who stood on the dance floor, his hand stretched forward, waiting for her to take it. With her head down in shyness, she placed her hand in his, smiling as he brought her to his chest, their eyes on each other.
“You look so pretty, wife. Can’t wait to get this dress off you.”
She hit his arms lightly. “Don’t say stuff like that.”
“You know what happens on wedding night, right?”
“Of course I do, it’s not like we haven’t done it before.”
“Perfect. This dress looks so perfect on you, fucking beautiful. It’s a good thing that I didn’t choose Elaine over you, you’re just so perfect.”
“I’m really better than her?”
“100 percent.”
Ria was all smiles as Jimmy crept his hand around her waist and helped her place her hand on his shoulder. They both moved their body in sync with the music, the guests cheering at each romantic act they made. In between their dance, Jimmy would lean in and give her kisses, kissing her in front of the guests.
But their happiness was short-lived as the door of the ballroom suddenly flung open revealing the two people who they made sure not to invite at all.
Elaine and Xavier made their way into the ballroom, hands interlocked as they stood before the newly married couple who had stopped dancing. The hall became incredibly silent at the presence of them.
Ria fumed in anger, her eyes raking over Elaine’s appearance. Her hatred for her sister just increased a thousand times more. Like always, she stole the show and this time, it was her wedding party. Elaine was dressed better than the bride herself, the murmurs of the guests confirmed it.
The long peach diamond dress that she wore flowed all the way to the floor with a slit that ran to her thighs. She overtook the bride’s dress and seeing the approval of the guests and their awe caused Ria’s anger to skyrocket.
“What are you doing here?” Ria broke away from Jimmy and stood before her sister.
“Congratulations on your wedding, Ria. You look perfect.”
“I don’t care about your compliments. What are you doing here? I don’t send an invite to you.”
Elaine shook her head.
“Too bad I got one myself. To think that my dear sister refused to send me an invite to her wedding party. I feel so hurt.”
“Ho…how.”
“How did I get an invite?” Elaine asked. Her hands wrapped around Xavier’s arms, bringing him closer to her. “My fiancé here is capable of getting me anything I want. I asked, and I got it.”
Ria gritted her teeth, anger overtaking her every being, her chest heaving up and down.
“Elaine, do not disrupt our party,” Jimmy took his position beside Ria, his hands snaking around her waist. Just after he said the words, his eyes fell on the block of ice glaring at him from the side.
“What did you call her? Say that again?” His voice came out cold and rough. Jimmy trembled, his eyes immediately breaking gaze from his uncle. “I said say that again.”
“I mistakenly called her the wrong name, forgive me, Auntie.”
Elaine smirked. “Oh my, I didn’t hear that.”
“Auntie.”
Ria clenched her fist, slightly pushing Jimmy behind her. “You’re disgusting, Elaine. As if bullying me isn’t enough, you also want to crash my wedding ceremony? Let me tell you then. Jimmy loves me and me alone. He wouldn’t love you even if you do everything in this world.” She stepped closer, a few inches away from her. “You’re way below me, everyone can attest to that, Elaine Rock.”
“Watch your mouth, Ria. You don’t want to anger me.”
“Go to hell.”
Again, Xavier’s chilling eyes fell on Jimmy, his gaze fixated on him. Jimmy’s hand fell on Ria’s wrist, pinching her softly, an attempt to tell her to keep shut.
“It’s Elaine’s fault, not mine.”
Xavier glared at her. “You’re Jimmy’s wife now, I expect the way you call my fiancée to change.”
“Wh..what?”
Jimmy pinched her softly again before whispering into her ears. “Just do as he says, okay?”
Finally, she took a deep breath, her eyes closed as she whispered. “Auntie.”
Xavier smirked in satisfaction.
“Elaine.” Elaine’s head whipped to the side at the yell of her name. Her eyes fell on Emily who marched toward her, clenching her arms and turning her so that they faced each other.
“Emily, you’re here.”
“What do you think you’re doing? Haven’t you done enough emotional damage to our sister? Have shame and leave this place.”
“What emotional damage? She’s getting married to my boyfriend, I mean ex-boyfriend and you think it’s not emotional damage to me?”
“He loves her not a big bully like you. Someone who never wants anyone to be happy.”
“Bully?” Elaine chuckled. “Maybe it’s high time I reveal to the world who the real big bully is.”
“What do you mean.”
Elaine turned to the side, her gaze locking with one of the security guards. He bowed his head before making his way to the large projector.
“It’s time, everyone, please watch.”
