Sit On My Thighs

A hot sensation woke Xavier up the next morning. He felt his chest burning and his eyes widened when they fell on the woman who laid in his chest, her temperature hot. After their talk the previous night, she’d asked him to stay with her and cuddle until she fell asleep and he’d agreed, patting her until she closed her eyes, her trembling body relaxing in his arms.

Angling her body so that she laid on her back, his hands fell on her forehead, eyes darkening at her temperature. His little doll caught a fever. Her hot temperature was proof of that. She still trembled, clenching the blanket to her chest as she slept. Xavier immediately strangled up from the bed, stroding to the bathroom, his bare chest flexing at each step he took.

He came out with a bowl of cold water and a small towel. Sitting by her side on the bed, she squeezed the towel, folded it and placed it on her forehead. Elaine grumbled in her sleep. He repeated it twice before her eyes fluttered open to stare at him in surprise.

“Xavier?” She called.

“It’s fine, doll. You just caught the flu. How do you feel? Want me to call the doctor?”

“The doctor is not necessary.” She replied immediately.

“How do you feel?”

“Nauseous, cold. My head hurts and my legs are sore too.”

“It’s going to be fine. I’ll give your legs a massage.”

“Yo…you don’t have to, it’s fine.”

He flung the blanket off her, hands clutching her legs tightly and started massaging them, one after the other. Once he was done massaging her legs, he covered her body back with the blanket and stood up. I’ll run a bath for you, okay?”

She nodded slowly.

As he strided into the bathroom, a sigh of relief escaped her lips. She was almost at the verge of telling him she didn’t just catch the flu and that she was pregnant, that it was just her morning sickness getting to her.

Would he still care this much about her when he finds out that she was pregnant and that she’d forgotten to take a plan B after they had sex that day? Will he think that she planned to pin him with a child?

Soon enough, Xavier got out of the bathroom, walked to her side and scooped her off the bed. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her into the bathroom, pushing the door open with his foot and headed to the bathtub. He carefully sat her at the edge of the bathtub. “Once you’ve had your bath, come downstairs, okay?”

She nodded slowly.

At that, he headed out of the bathroom and the room, climbing the stairs to the dinning table where Grace already had their dinner laid out and ready to be consumed. His eyes examined each meal.

“Good morning, Sir Romano,” Grace greeted, her head lowered.

“How soft are these meats?” He didn’t bother acknowledging her greeting.

“They’re made in the perfect textures. Should I serve you, sir?”

“Not yet.”

While waiting for Elaine, he scrolled on the stock market and news, keeping himself up to date with the news channel.

“Good morning, Grace.” His head whipped to the side when he heard Elaine stepping into the dinning room, greeting the housekeeper and making her way toward him fully dressed for the day.

She was dressed in a baggy pants and sweater that managed to keep her warm while rubbing her arms with her palms. “I’m starving.” Without staring at him, she attempted to sit on the chair beside him but he had other plans. He held her hand and brought her to his side.

“Sit on my thighs.”

“What?” Elaine’s eyes grew wide.”

Before she could say another word, the hand around her wrist encircled her waist and brought her to sit on his thighs, angling her comfortably.

“Xavier.”

“Shh. You’re not fine, I should take care of you. With our bodies close, you’ll feel less cold.”

Without any more words, he sliced the meat on a plate for her, scooped rice in a spoon and brought it to her lips.

“I can feed myself.”

“But I want to do it for you. Stop protesting, doll.” With a red cheek, she opened her mouth, letting the taste of the rice wash over her mouth. Taking a slice of meat, he fed her. When he brought a cut of egg to her mouth, she felt a bile in her throat and shook her head.

She resisted the urge to throw up in front of him.

“Didn’t you like eggs?”

“Not now.”

He nodded, returning the egg and bringing more slice of meat or her mouth.

“We’ll be leaving for the Rock mansion in two days.” Xavier’s announcement caused her to roll her eyes, her shoulders slumping. “I told you, it’s not even necessary.”

“Your mother called again.”

“What?”

“She asked me to keep to my word so we have to go. In no time, we’ll get out of there.”

Elaine gritted her teeth. She’s asked the woman not to contact Xavier again, had she not? Her mother never listens unless it involved force. Fine then, she would attend but at the end, give a piece of her mind to her mother and make sure she never contacts either of them again. After all, she was the one who decided to believe one daughter without thinking of the feelings of the other.

“Fine, we’ll attend.”

Xavier only nodded, bringing a spoonful of vegetables to her mouth.

“Open up.” She did as he asked.

“You’re not going to eat?” Turning so that she sat facing the side, she took a spoon from the table, scooped rice in it and brought it to Xavier’s mouth. “Here, I’ll feed you too.”
