Chapter 104 Radiant Seal Blade Master
William was a bit annoyed by Eli's persistence.
A one-star Evolution Elixir was extremely valuable in the early days of the apocalypse because each bottle represented dozens or even hundreds of Magic Crystals, which meant you had to kill dozens or hundreds of zombies.
Even for an Evolving person, killing that many zombies wasn't an easy task.
Four bottles meant you needed to kill three to four hundred zombies, and that was if you were lucky; otherwise, it could be as many as five hundred. The roulette was too dependent on luck.
At the very beginning of the apocalypse, obtaining an Evolution Elixir to become an Evolving person was very important. Within the first year of the apocalypse, a one-star Evolution Elixir was one of the most valuable items and the most valuable trade commodity.
A Professional certificate was good, but if you weren't an Evolving person, it was just a piece of paper.
Of course, in William's mind, the true value of this Professional certificate far exceeded four bottles of Evolution Elixir. But that was because William had seen similar professions before, so he had the ability to appraise it based from his experience. If you only considered the time point of less than a week since the apocalypse began, it was indeed not worth that price.
"You should also know how hard it is to get an Evolution Elixir now. Three bottles of Evolution Elixir are valuable enough," William said slowly. "If you insist on this price, then I have no choice but to leave."
Taking a step back, William showed his stance.
Eli's eyebrows twitched.
Three bottles of Evolution Elixir were indeed the highest price offered in the past few days.
Previously, only one person had offered two bottles of Evolution Elixir for a trade; the rest all wanted to trade for just one bottle.
As an Evolving person, Eli naturally knew how precious the Evolution Elixir was. The bottle he had taken had cost the lives of two people. But even after becoming an Evolving person, he still feared the virus. Unless there was a particularly good opportunity, he didn't dare to face too many zombies directly.
As a result, he had only accumulated a few dozen Magic Crystals these days. If he took them to spin the roulette, he might not even get one bottle of Evolution Elixir.
The price offered by this young man was tempting, but Eli was still reluctant.
Their small family-based team originally consisted of nine people, two brothers with their wives and children.
Two people had died while fighting against zombies to collect Magic Crystals, and Eli didn't want anyone else to die. So, he wanted to trade this Professional certificate he got by chance for enough elixirs for everyone to evolve.
He also knew that price was too outrageous, so he lowered it a bit, but now they were still stuck.
He didn't know if he would ever meet someone who could offer this price again if William left.
"Can you tell me why you're so set on four bottles of elixir?" William naturally didn't want to give up so easily. Seeing Eli's expression, he asked.
Eli sighed, then he explained, "Two family members are really sick, terminal illnesses. If they can't become Evolving persons, they might not make it for long."
Although he didn't say much, William understood. They wanted to use the Evolution Elixir as medicine, fearing that two bottles wouldn't be enough.
The Evolution Elixir comprehensively enhanced a person's physical condition, indeed having some therapeutic effects, even on terminal illnesses. After all, a stronger body with higher immunity would start to heal itself, eliminating terminal cells and achieving a cure.
'So that's what it was', William thought, feeling that there was room for negotiation.
William said, "Take a look at this."
As he spoke, William pretended to reach into his backpack and took out an Ape-Turtle Croc Egg from his space crystal.
William explained, "I got this egg from a level two mutant creature by chance. There were originally two; I ate one, and it had some effects similar to the Evolution Elixir. Although it doesn't boost your body as much as the Evolution Elixir, it can still make the body more than twice as strong. Moreover, it can be consumed multiple times, and each time it has an effect, though the first time is the best."
He added, "If I throw this into the mix, what do you guys think?"
Having had some life energy absorbed by the Golden Cloth, the Ape-Turtle Croc Egg's shell was somewhat grayish-white, and its life force wasn't as intense as before, but it was still a live egg, and consuming it was effective.
The people in the room brightened up upon hearing this. The young man holding the certificate asked urgently, "Does it work for everyone? What about Evolving persons?"
William replied, "It works for them too. I've experienced it myself."
The room fell silent again, but the people exchanged glances, conveying information through their eyes.
"This is my final offer. If it still doesn't work, then I can only say it's a pity," William added at the right moment.
"Does this egg really have the effects you mentioned?" Eli asked, which actually meant he had agreed.
William was delighted, and patiently answered," Absolutely. As an Evolving person, you should be able to sense its energy."
Eli nodded, gritted his teeth, and said, "Alright, deal!"
Although they agreed, both sides were very cautious, fearing the other might attack and turn the trade into a robbery.
After three bottles of elixir and an egg were exchanged for a Professional certificate, William jumped out of the window he came in from.
Perhaps it was the attitude of these people willing to do anything to save their family that moved William, or maybe their honest trading won his favor. After leaving the supermarket, William turned back and said, "It won't be safe here in a few days. You'd better leave as soon as possible."
Eli, standing by the window, was stunned but still nodded and said thank you.
William asked one last question, "Can you tell me how you got this Professional certificate? Honestly, from what I see, you guys aren't at the level to spin out Professional certificates."
Eli pondered for two seconds and replied, "We stumbled upon two very strange but powerful monsters fighting in a place. It was just lying in one of the monster's nests."
William nodded, looked around, and then quickly ran a few steps, disappearing into the night.
Under a tree by the community fence, William opened the Professional certificate. It was titled as Radiant Seal Blade Master!
Another powerful profession with a prefix!
Though he had never heard of this profession, it didn't stop him from being 100% sure of its power. In comparison, the Honorable Artisan profession he had previously obtained, which also had a prefix, had already shown him its might. Now it was another profession with a prefix, he knew it must be a good thing.
Moreover, the Honorable Artisan was already off the charts as a secondary profession. This Radiant Seal Blade Master was clearly a primary profession and would undoubtedly be even more powerful.
Tearing it up, he learned it without any hesitation. He didn't even bother to carefully read the Contract sheepskin scroll.
A warm power filled his body, increasing his mental power by another unit. He couldn't wait to draw the Edge of the Moon. His left hand suddenly wrote a strange mark in the air, then punched this shining mark onto the blade.
