Chapter 312 Plan B

The Honor Legion just dropped the new power rankings, and Connor's in charge of the list for Accraville City.

Connor's been on point with this stuff, except for that curveball from Cloud Peak Manor. He knew who's got the muscle and who didn't.

When it came to raw power, Connor's got a solid grip on who's who in Accraville City.

The Honor Legion's no joke, but even Connor and the top brass knew that being strong didn't mean they were untouchable. They needed a big crew to back up their strength, so they were always keeping tabs on city forces, ready to bring in new blood when needed.

Connor stumbled upon the Poppy roulette wheel, and after Patrick and his 500 warriors made it back from The Land of Death, he started pulling some strings. He was looking to team up with other forces, aiming to bust through the mutated life forms on the outskirts.

It would be a stretch to say they were doing it out of the goodness of their hearts, but the Honor Legion did have some standards. They promised some perks and even provided a bit upfront.

So, most groups, even if they didn't know the Honor Legion by name, recognized their members and signals.

When the sleeve arrow went off, those groups stepped up.

These allied forces made up almost half of Accraville City's elite. Plus, some of the Honor Legion's backup showed up too.

Facing the zombie swarm, these folks weren't dumb. Especially the Accraville City alliance—they weren't about to charge in without some assurance of safety, and Connor never expected them to bail him out.

Connor was just rolling the dice, betting that this guy William cared about the forces and people he'd built up at Cloud Peak Manor.

"If we can't get out, all your people, your friends, and everyone at Cloud Peak Manor are toast. Plus," Connor said, pulling out a folded item from his backpack and unfolding it slowly, "I don't think you can really trap us!"

William's eyes locked onto the item Connor revealed, and his pupils shrank.

A Magic energy steel glider!

White-level!

In the past, survivors knew this thing well. It was a type of flying gear, with different functions and effects based on its level and size. The main advantage was that survivors could use it to fly a certain distance. It wasn't far or fast, but it was incredibly useful in situations like this.

This white-level Magic energy steel glider could carry about ten people. Once fired up, it could totally break through the zombie blockade. As long as they got back to the forces working with the Honor Legion, William's whole setup with The Blood of Evolution and Magic Crystals would fall apart.

As for the remaining Honor Legion folks under the roulette wheel, their fate wasn't really a big deal to either side. Or rather, right now, Connor was sending a clear message to William: he could escape with the elite, and William would face a brutal revenge.

Connor wanted William to think twice and back off!

Everyone was playing their cards, trying to get the upper hand and make things tough for the other side. William was doing it, and so was Connor.

Connor rallied the allied forces, setting up a new stronghold, and whipped out the Magic energy steel glider, creating the perfect escape route. Even if William caught on and sent the zombies after their stronghold, it’d be too late. Connor’s getaway wouldn’t take long, and they could hold out for that short time.

Patrick and Bradley’s earlier anger and anxiety started to fade. Connor didn’t let them down. Even in this mess, he still found a way out.

“Squad, I’m sticking with you. As long as Connor gets out, even if we bite the dust, he’ll avenge us. Plus, we might not even die. Honor Legion is unbeatable!” Patrick was sharp. He was the first to declare he’d live and die with the regular warriors, blocking William’s last move. Patrick’s rousing words and the Honor Legion’s long-cultivated sense of pride and honor fired up the warriors, ready to fight to the end.

“Honor Legion is unbeatable!” The slogan they shouted daily in The Land of Death echoed loudly in the outside world.

“Not bad,” William said approvingly. The Honor Legion was a force to be reckoned with in the future. Their foundation was already solid. Connor’s gear, his skills, and the quality of his troops were way above the current average. They could handle most situations.

But today, they ran into William.

“You’ve made things tough for me, I’ll give you that.” William raised his right hand and waved it. Behind the Honor Legion’s forces, a new group started to gather.

Among them were small alliances that had just left the battlefield and rested a bit, as well as some mid-tier forces ranked in the top fifty of Accraville City. What shocked everyone more was that the Star Beauty Company and the Mercy Vanguard warband, now leaderless without Chester, were also joining this new camp!

The top two forces in Accraville City were siding with William!

“You’ve got your crew, but so do I. Think your plan will still work once they start clashing?” William asked calmly. "Oh, and your flying device, which is at the white level, can generate a shield with Magic Crystals. It has high defense, stable performance, and even if hit by long-range weapons, its flight won't be significantly affected."

William put away his green longbow and pulled out two black objects from behind him.

“Sorry, they look a bit rough, but they work. You made me bring these out, and that’s a bummer.” William no longer looked at Connor but at Patrick. “You’re quick on your feet, a smart subordinate. Let me use you as a test dummy to show your captain Connor.”

The Honor Legion members were stunned, clueless about these black, oddly-shaped objects.

William shook his arm and made a throwing motion. One of the black objects flew out, whistling through the air, heading straight for Patrick.

Patrick didn’t know what it was, but it was definitely bad news. Without a second thought, the moment William made his move, he flung himself to the ground and hurled his weapon forward, hoping to knock away whatever it was.

A loud bang followed.
