Chapter 95 Apostle of Light

When William returned, he startled everyone.

"Prepare some alcohol and gauze. It's in my bag," William said, dropping a sentence before heading out with a bucket of water.

When he came back, the bloodstains on his body were gone. William was shirtless, with seven or eight wounds on his chest and back, especially three gashes on his back that were over ten centimeters long, almost deep enough to expose the bone.

Natalie and Lucy hurriedly tried to bandage him, but their clumsy attempts showed that they were not professionals.

"Let me do it," Michelle said.

Candice and Jack had gone out to find food, so they weren't around. Michelle had to step in. Handling wounds was nothing new for professionals like her.

William didn't refuse. Psychologically, he was definitely closer to Natalie and Lucy, as they were basically his future partners. However, asking a social media influencer and a teacher to handle bandaging was a bit too much for them.

"What is this?" Michelle's technique was very professional and skilled, but she couldn't even help but shudder at the sight of these wounds as she questioned him.

The wounds were of various shapes, but Michelle could tell sharp objects, and canine bites caused them. Some wounds had no flesh left, leaving a pit of raw, bleeding flesh that starkly contrasted with the healthy skin of the young man.

She could hardly imagine what this man had encountered in such a short time.

"You'd better hurry, or the smell of blood will attract zombies, "William suddenly said, making Michelle blush and quicken her pace.

"What's the matter? Did someone beat you up? It's too bad that it didn't kill you," one of the three tied-up men, Peter, sneered at William, his eyes full of hatred.

The three were tied together, surrounded by a trap set by William. If they moved, six knives suspended in front of them would shoot out, piercing their heads and throats. Even if they had the strength to break free from the ropes, they wouldn't dare move recklessly.

Moreover, Natalie or Candice, along with Pill, were watching them closely.

William glanced at the three but said nothing.

Michelle quickly finished treating the wounds. William casually put on a shirt and walked over to the colorful roulette.

At this moment, Candice and Jack returned, carrying two bags filled with food and water. Seeing William back, Candice's mood improved a bit.

Jack whispered a few words, explaining that they had encountered others trying to rob them while searching for supplies. Candice had fought off a few, but then zombies appeared, and those people didn't escape and died.

William calmly retorted, "Think about if it were you who got knocked down and eaten by zombies. Would those people feel sad?"

After saying this, William began inserting magic crystals into the roulette. First, he inserted over three hundred First-Level Magic Crystals. The spinning roulette was irresistibly attractive to everyone; even the three tied-up men watched intently.

When he had inserted a total of three hundred and sixty First-Level Magic Crystals, the roulette finally started to move, with the large pointer spinning between black, white, and yellow sections.

Only William knew that the black section would never be selected, as he had already excluded it.

The pointer slowed down and gradually stopped in the white section.

William, holding the professional certificate in his hand,  opened it in front of everyone.

"Apostle of Light!" he announced.

William was visibly stunned because this was a profession he had never heard of in his previous life.

He crushed the certificate and obtained a professional badge and an Oath Parchment Scroll.

After carefully reading the parchment, William understood what an Apostle of Light was.

This profession was unexpectedly powerful.

First, it was a primary profession, leaning towards defense. Among the occupations William knew, it was somewhat similar to Healer and Light Mage, but not the same.

The healer was a secondary profession that focused mainly on healing. Its trademarks were skills like Healing, Wound Cleansing, and Detoxification.

Light Mage was a primary elemental profession, capable of both offense and defense, with offensive spells like Holy Light, which was effective against undead and zombies, and healing spells like Cure.

However, the Apostle of Light had similar healing skills to the other two professions previously mentioned. It also had offensive skills from the Light Mage, though fewer in number. Moreover, compared to the other two professions, the Apostle of Light focused more on defense, with half of its skills being purely for defense.

The long list of potential skills made William's eyes light up, each skill exciting him as someone who had lived through the apocalypse.

This profession could heal, defend, and assist in attacks, making it the ultimate versatile profession humanity dreamed of!

A team with someone in this profession would see its strength instantly increase!

No wonder William had never heard of this profession in his previous life. It was extremely rare, so much so that even someone with William's Six-Star evolution level didn't know about it.

However, despite its power, William needed help to learn this profession.

The Oath Parchment Scroll specified that to learn this profession, one must not already have a profession, and once becoming an Apostle of Light, one could not have any other profession!

Indeed, the more powerful something was, the more restrictions it had.

William handed the Oath Parchment Scroll to the others for them to read.

Having read it, everyone felt a sense of unreality.

This was their first encounter with a profession and their first understanding of it. The scrolls that could cause magical changes in their bodies undoubtedly gave them a dreamlike feeling.

Many had a look of longing. Yes, the harsh and dangerous apocalypse had given every survivor a deep understanding of the benefits of being powerful.

Even among One-Star Evolvers, William was strong because he had the Craftsman profession, allowing him to create powerful weapons like the Edge of the Moon. Very few of the same level could match him. He could face and defeat second-level evolved creatures alone.

Without the Edge of the Moon, even Candice alone could give William a run for his money. If it were a sparring match, Candice might even win. Of course, in a life-and-death battle, William would undoubtedly win without much effort.

Finally, the Oath Parchment Scroll returned to William's hand.

He twirled the ancient scroll, glanced at everyone's faces, and asked with a smile, "Who wants it?"
