Chapter 333 Lord Lopez's Ultimate Move
The sky was swarming with these dense, black critters.
Up close, you could see these bugs, about the size of coins, looked downright nasty. Their black, shiny wings covered round bodies with tough shells and barbs. Around their bellies, there were sharp spikes made from the same stuff as their exoskeletons.
Their jaws were something else, packed with sharp teeth. On their heads, which were pretty much fused to their bodies, was a short but scary-looking proboscis, glinting like it could cut through anything.
There were so many of these little monsters that they almost blocked out all the light in a hundred-foot radius, making Gemma vanish again in their shadow.
Brody's face turned serious. He thought Gemma had shown all her hands earlier, but clearly, she had more tricks up her sleeve.
But he couldn't dwell on that now. Brody knew he was in the biggest jam since becoming a Lord. He had to get out of this bug-infested shadow fast. If he could just reach some sunlight, Gemma wouldn't stand a chance.
Twisting his body in a weird way, Brody started throwing punches in every direction, like he was in some intense training session.
One of his punches clipped Gemma, who had snuck up close. She grunted and backed off after the hit.
In close combat, Brody's Rhythm Warrior skills were no joke.
Even though he landed a hit, Brody didn't look happy. He knew he couldn't keep up this large-scale, energy-draining ability for long. After gaining a slight edge, he bolted in one direction.
Rhythm Warrior was a unique close-combat profession. Unlike Chester's Copper Fist Fighter, it didn't have any standout abilities and seemed pretty average. But that balance made it strong in every aspect. Once it found its rhythm, it could unleash its full combat power.
And that included speed.
Brody was fast. As soon as he took off, he covered over thirty feet. In just a couple more seconds, he'd be out of the bugs' range.
But these bugs could move too, and this time, they weren't just blocking the sky—they were all swarming towards Brody.
In the sunlight, Gemma reappeared, holding two short knives.
In this moment of crisis, Brody got calm. He stopped talking, and every part of his body became a weapon. With every punch and kick, he smashed dozens of black bugs into mush.
But there were just too many bugs. From the outside, Brody looked like he was wrapped in a giant, writhing black cocoon. Every second, hundreds of tiny wounds appeared on his body.
These wounds weren't big, mostly small punctures from the bugs' sharp proboscises. But together, they put Brody in endless pain. He even felt like these black bugs were sucking his energy!
This was the Dark Disaster.
His once clean and neat hoodie was now soaked in blood.
"Aren't you gonna use your ultimate move?" Gemma's voice echoed creepily from beyond the swarm of black bugs. "Take off your hood, show your face. That's your real power, right?"
Brody chuckled lightly, like he wasn't a blood-soaked Lord but a parent watching a kid play.
"You've earned it." Brody's speed hit its peak, killing hundreds of bugs every second, but just as many wounds appeared on his body.
"This isn't fun at all. I hate asking for help," Brody said with a hint of regret. "But now, I really have no choice. Gemma, I like you."
With that, Brody, still swarmed by bugs, yanked off his hoodie, revealing the face hidden underneath. Through the gaps, Gemma caught a glimpse that made her eye twitch.
The scary part wasn't Brody's face itself—it was a gentle-looking face, almost feminine in its softness. Just looking at it, you couldn't help but feel a bit of warmth.
But his eyes? They were something else.
No pupils, no lenses, no normal eye structures. Instead, they were two crystals, with twisted human figures constantly shifting and distorting inside them. Because of this, his eye sockets and eyelids were covered with bright blue and red muscle fibers, wriggling like worms, as if feeding blood to those crystal eyes.
What the heck was this?
Gemma hadn't expected that a guy who kept calling her ugly would have such freaky eyes!
And it wasn't just freaky—it was downright eerie!
"Micro world!" Brody grinned, and those crystal eyes with twisted figures locked onto Gemma through the swarm of bugs. Then, Gemma vanished.
Before she could figure out what was happening, she felt a heavy blow to her body, sending her flying.
Before she hit the ground, another kick sent her in a different direction.
Her insides churned from the hits, and she spat out a mouthful of blood, splattering on the ground.
Looking down, Gemma was stunned. The ground here was gray, with no clear material.
"Welcome to my Micro world," Brody's voice suddenly sounded in her ear. Gemma quickly rolled over, cautiously scanning her surroundings.
But she didn't see Brody. Instead, she saw a different space.
"You should feel honored because you've triggered the strongest version of me," Brody's voice continued in her ear, still without his figure in sight.
"But don't think you're special. Since the apocalypse began, several people have done this. Now, they are all around you."
Gemma's eyes narrowed as she saw what had attacked her earlier.
Several humanoid creatures with constantly twisting bodies stood around, looking just like the figures in Brody's crystal eyes.
"You will become the fifth guardian in my Micro world. Enjoy it, Gemma!" With that, Brody's voice disappeared, and the humanoid creatures began to attack.
Gemma found she couldn't activate her profession abilities, but her bloodline abilities still worked. Unfortunately, in this weird space, they were useless.
The four so-called guardians surrounded Gemma, swinging their fists.
