Chapter 105 A Complex and Powerful Profession

The blade of the Edge of the Moon flashed with light, and The Light of Full Strength suddenly burst out even without being activated. It pulsed around the blade like it was breathing, brightening and dimming. At the edge of the Knife light, upon closer inspection, there appeared to be a refraction phenomenon similar to flames burning in the air, creating a sense of spatial folding around the entire blade

William performed an incantation, "Seal: Flame Blade."

William held his breath and suddenly swung the blade with all his might at the empty space in front of him.

A red light flared up, connecting the Edge of the Moon directly to the ground. This red light seemed to be painting, instantly drawing a quarter circle with William's hand as the center!

The ground, which was originally a lush green lawn, with a brick-paved path ahead, all ignited under this slash. The rising flames instantly reached over ten feet high, illuminating half the neighborhood.

The flames appeared quickly and disappeared just as fast. In just a second, they vanished, leaving the burned area pitch black. Both the grass and the stone path were reduced to ashes, leaving a ten-foot-long, three-foot-deep crack!

It looked like a mini-abyss had been carved into the ground.

William was deeply shocked by this slash.

In his previous life, he was also a Swordsman who had advanced from an apprentice to an intermediate level, with several professional skills. But even the skills that appeared later on were not as powerful as the Flame Blade.

It can be said that, without considering the power and skill differences between a six-star Evolving person and a one-star Evolving person, this slash could crush all the professional skills of a Swordsman from his previous life!

In fact, even if all factors were taken into account, William estimated that this slash had about half the power of his full-strength slash from his previous life.

Though it was only half, it should be stressed that in his previous life, he was a six-star Evolving person, and now he was just a one-star! The gap was enormous.

In other words, when William became a two-star or three-star Evolving person, this slash might very well rival the one he had in his past life when he was a six-star.

William understood this better than anyone.

The Radiant Seal Blade Master profession should essentially be a combination of two professions.

One was a Seal Master, and the other was a Swordsman.

A Seal Master used mental power to create marks that appeared externally, each mark having its own abilities.

A Swordsman, of course, needed no explanation. William himself was one, and there were quite a few in his previous life. He knew of more than twenty people with this profession.

The Radiant Seal Blade Master, however, engraved inscription techniques on the blade to unleash greater power, which was a very unique characteristic.

Because inscription techniques couldn't exert power on their own, they needed the blade as a medium.

William had never heard of the Seal Master profession before, but he knew of similar professions like Fist Imprinter and Finger Imprinter. However, they were rare and somewhat niche, not particularly powerful, so William didn't know much about them.

But he did know that Fist Imprinter and Finger Imprinter used 'inscriptions' directly, attacking enemies with marks through body parts like fists and fingers.

In this regard, William's profession couldn't do that.

The Radiant Seal Blade Master's skills were divided into two parts such as the inscription techniques and blade techniques.

Inscription techniques were about how to 'make' inscriptions, and blade techniques were about how to 'use' the blade.

For example, William had just acquired this profession and was an apprentice Radiant Seal Blade Master. The entire professional system had two branches. The first inscription technique skill he had was 'flame.' This was the first skill in the inscription techniques branch, and its effect was to give the blade the ability of fire.

This was a general description, or to put it more directly, using the most obvious feature to describe the 'flame' inscription. In reality, the 'flame' inscription not only gave the blade the ability of fire but also increased its power, essentially boosting its attack power.

There were many other different 'inscriptions' that William hadn't mastered yet but they would appear gradually. One of the 'inscription techniques' abilities—Zero—could give the blade a rare spatial ability, which didn't increase attack power, instead gave it terrifying speed.

The speed of drawing and swinging the blade!

At its peak, it would make the distance zero.

It was almost a one-hit-kill skill, and its combined name was 'Seal: Zero knife.'

There were many others that William hadn't studied yet.

The second skill branch of the Radiant Seal Blade Master was blade techniques. Currently, he had only mastered one professional skill—"Blue Ocean Severance."

Unlike inscriptions, blade techniques could be used independently. When Blue Ocean Severance was used, it posed a significant threat to the target in front, delivering three consecutive slashes with the momentum of cutting through the ocean.

Each of these branches was incredibly powerful on its own, and when combined, their power was even more formidable. The slash William just executed only used the 'flame' ability, and it had already shocked him greatly. If combined with the 'Blue Ocean Severance' skill...

William couldn't even imagine it.

Moreover, there was a crucial point, another reason why this profession was so powerful: if the blade used as a medium was good enough, it would enhance the skill.

The Edge of the Moon in William's hand, aside from its other attributes, had the innate ability of The Light of Full Strength, which could amplify the effect of 'flame.'

Originally, this ability should have been carried by the blade itself, but now it has been transferred to the even sharper Knife light, increasing its power by at least thirty percent compared to just using the blade.

Coincidentally, William was a craftsman, an Honorable Artisan.

The more powerful something is, the more limitations it has, and William firmly believed this.

This profession was no exception. William didn't just see its powerful side; he also understood its limitations.

First, there was a long-standing problem that troubled William: the profession consumed a lot of mental power when using its skills. Just using one 'flame' inscription consumed nearly a hundred points of mental power. If combined with Blue Ocean Severance, it would probably take at least a hundred and fifty points.

Even though he had increased his mental power by learning this profession, the consumption was still enormous, comparable to Natalie's 'Quadrilateral dance spinning.' Using it twice would almost deplete William's mental power.

Secondly, the inscription techniques required a high-quality blade to be used as a medium. Ordinary blades couldn't withstand the power of the 'inscriptions.' They would be destroyed even before being used. This meant that the profession's owner needed high-quality weapons.

Fortunately, William was a craftsman, and his Edge of the Moon was already of silver quality. Otherwise, finding a suitable blade would be a huge challenge for anyone else with this profession.

From this perspective, it was right for others not to learn this profession. If they did, it would be a waste.

Lastly, and most troubling for William, was another issue.
