Chapter 334 One Injury, One Withdrawal

Quincy got tossed out of his Soultransmute state, landing hard on the ground.

The noise was so loud, everyone turned to see what the heck just happened. They were all wondering what kind of crazy skill could make such a racket.

Chester stood there, one hand stripped down to bare white bones.

But he was grinning.

He'd busted Quincy's Soultransmute. Quincy, the guy who almost killed him without breaking a sweat, was now coughing up blood like there was no tomorrow.

The Mercy Vanguard warband and Zero Commerce Guild members instinctively huddled closer to their leaders. But Quincy, after puking up a few mouthfuls of blood, got back on his feet, shoved his guys away, and the Wolf Spirit flared up around him again. "Not bad, breaking my Soultransmute with this...is that a sonic boom?"

Even with murder in his eyes, Quincy had a bit of respect for Chester. If he was right, Chester had used a sonic boom to shatter the invincibility of Soultransmute, blasting him out of it and leaving him seriously messed up.

Meanwhile, Chester's hand, which had broken the sound barrier, was now just bone.

To pull off that sonic boom, Chester had ditched his Gilded Form.

For a regular person, making a sonic boom was a no-go; human bodies just couldn't hit that kind of speed.

Maybe a whip from back in 6th century Europe could do it, but that was using a tool, not raw speed.

But Chester, with his super-boosted physique and the perks from his profession, managed it as a three-star Evolving person, though it cost him big time.

After such a long fight, both of them were in bad shape. Quincy couldn't do Soultransmute anymore, and Chester had lost an arm.

A lot of folks might not get why Chester went all out like that, but if you forgot about the deals, the gains and losses, and his promises to William, and just looked at who he is, it made sense.

Chester wasn't fighting for William, who saved his life, or for Cloud Peak Manor anymore. He was fighting for himself—maybe for pride, revenge, or his desire to win.

"We're not done here," Quincy said, frowning.

"Yeah, we're finishing this today," Chester shot back.

The two bloodthirsty guys went at it again.

But this time, it wasn't about fancy skills or professional moves, just raw, primal survival.

It wasn't pretty, but it was intense.

"Captain White!"

"Lord Gray!"

Their followers kept shouting, trying to pull them out of this deadly brawl.

Around them, the Mercy Vanguard warband and Zero Commerce Guild members clashed in a brutal fight, with lives being lost left and right.

At this point, both sides knew there was no stopping or running. If anyone tried to flee, they'd be slaughtered.

When Quincy and Chester finally got pulled apart, they were both drenched in blood. Chester's remaining arm was twisted and broken, and one of his eyes was gone, leaving a bloody hole.

Quincy's right ribcage was smashed in, and blood was pouring from his ears, eyes, nose, and mouth. His legs were like jelly, and his guys had to hold him up because his knees were busted.

Both sides slowly backed off, leaving behind a gruesome pile of over two hundred bodies from the fight.

Chester and Quincy were both out cold, knocked into a coma from their brutal injuries. No one knew if they'd ever wake up. Their followers exchanged looks and started to retreat together.

Continuing the fight was pointless. Even if they wiped out the other side, hardly any of them would be left standing. That wasn't a win.

To avoid getting wiped out by the next wave of enemies, retreating was the smartest move.

Accraville City's former top dog and Quincy from the Accraville City district were both on the brink of death.

A short knife was just a hair away from stabbing Stella's heart, each heartbeat brushing against the blade.

Another knife had jabbed into Stella's slender neck, but before it could cut an artery, it got blocked by the bow of the Shuriken.

Still, blood was gushing from those two wounds, soaking Stella's clean beige trench coat.

"Without... this... bow, you're just... trash." Chloe's voice came out from under her mask, broken up by coughs. Blood was dripping from the edge of her mask, down to her chin, and onto the ground.

Her back was a mess, most of the flesh gone, showing some white bones.

The starlight had hit her there earlier, and even with her gray-level defensive gear and using all her mental strength to reverse Condensing Death Channel to try to counter the Meteor Spinning skill of the green bow, it only lessened the damage a bit and couldn't stop it completely.

At the same time, Chloe's attempt to kill Stella had failed.

Using the last of her strength, Chloe yanked out the short knife and jumped back, shouting, "Retreat!"

Chloe's crew immediately surrounded her and started to pull back.

The Star Beauty Company members didn't want to miss this chance to win, but Stella stopped them.

"Making a Lord unable to fight again means our mission is done." Stella glanced at the Cloud Peak Manor members, who had first taken down a Lord but then stopped chasing Finnegan's crew and were now rushing towards Accraville City, and made her decision.

Stella hadn't seen the flames in the sky earlier, nor had she heard the loud explosion, as she was focused on Chloe, who had some seriously weird and powerful abilities.

But she sensed something was up from the unusual actions of the Cloud Peak Manor members. With William missing, Stella felt something might have gone down.

A bunch of possibilities ran through her mind, each one potentially changing the future of Accraville City and the plans for Star Beauty Company. So, Stella decided to let Chloe and her crew go.

If something had happened to William, she'd need to reconsider her future plans.
