Chapter 316 The Three Great Thrones

The witch shut her eyes, and her aura cranked up fast. The third-level zombies behind her all backed off, looking scared. Then, they bowed their heads, showing mad respect.

Since they were rolling with the witch, they must've already been tamed by her. Now, they were even more loyal.

Sometimes, it was just like that. Zombies, though gross, were way simpler than humans.

The witch said, "I need more blood. Name your price."

The Magic Crystal on the witch's forehead started glowing a faint blue. The main green color couldn't hide this light, showing she had successfully used the last drop of the Blood of Evolution and was definitely leveling up to five.

The witch didn't evolve right then and there, probably because she was wary of William and the Red-haired iron corpse.

From the last time she used the Blood of Evolution, the witch knew exactly how much she needed to level up. This was probably some mental power trick.

The Red-haired iron corpse didn't have such worries. It knew with William around, it was super safe.

After downing three drops of the Blood of Evolution, plus the last drop that fixed its body, the Red-haired iron corpse started to evolve. The giant thorny flower popped up under it again, lifting it into the air. Some wooden spikes connected them, and then the red hair spread, covering the whole Red-haired iron corpse.

This time, the evolution was a bit different. Faint halos flowed over the red hair mass, with some glowing points inside, giving the dim room a dreamy vibe.

The witch looked at the Red-haired iron corpse with a bit of envy, but it quickly vanished.

She kinda got William's control game.

When the witch faced William before, it was like facing other beings of the same level or a bit stronger. But as their relationship got more special and their levels kept rising, the witch found herself wanting to devour William more and more!

This craving was almost uncontrollable, especially when she first saw William after getting here. The witch almost made a move.

But she knew William was super strong now. At the same level, she probably couldn't beat him, so she held back.

But this desire would stay hidden in her heart until one day she could taste William's delicious blood. The witch knew that day would come.

The witch also got that after helping William, even though she got the Blood of Evolution as a reward, she also became his enemy in a way. Her relationship with him was becoming more like that of the Red-haired iron corpse and him.

When there were outside enemies, they could trust and work together. When there weren't, they saw each other as obstacles on the path to evolution.

William wouldn't let her control all the zombies in Accraville City, so he let the Red-haired iron corpse evolve to keep her in check.

The witch, about to hit level five, understood this but felt powerless. She couldn't beat William now, so she had to accept it.

William shook his head, "Unless you can get a bunch of third-level Magic Crystals, there's no more Blood of Evolution."

After saying this, William glanced at the third-level zombies behind the Red-haired iron corpse, making these creatures, who only knew how to kill when they saw humans, start baring their teeth at him.

"No, they are...mine," the witch tried to be clearer, but her language skills were still too rough.

"Then there's nothing I can do," William shrugged.

The witch gave William a long look and then vanished with her crew.

Accraville City was getting darker. William knew that tonight, the city would see the rise of its king, a level-five, super-smart ruler.

Unfortunately, its reign was bound to be shaky.

There was some noise behind him, and light footsteps stopped just behind William. He didn't turn around, but his body tensed up.

"Master." A voice came from behind him.

William turned and saw the Red-haired iron corpse half-kneeling on the ground. He felt a bit guilty for testing it earlier.

He had thought that after evolving to level five, the Red-haired iron corpse would be harder to control and might even want to kill him. But to his surprise, it not only didn't have any bad thoughts but also continued to address him the same way.

This was totally unexpected.

William carefully examined the mental connection with the Red-haired Iron Corpse and found it to be still equal, slightly deeper, but not a master-servant relationship. It seemed this was a self-initiated behavior after its intelligence had increased.

Although he didn't fully get the Red-haired iron corpse's thoughts, the current situation was good. William was pleased and gave it some instructions. Then the Red haired iron corpse  leaped out of the window, its long hair flowing as it disappeared into the darkness.

A few zombie growls were heard, gradually fading away.

Night deepened. William knew it was time to head back, but the way back wouldn't be easy.

While William was reaping great rewards and planning his next moves, a few people were standing around a campfire on the outskirts of Accraville City, on the way to Cloud Peak Manor.

Quincy was shirtless, roasting a leg of some unknown beast. The aroma of the meat wafted far into the night, attracting some noises that quickly ceased.

The warriors had taken care of the small nuisances that would disturb their dinner.

"Did you call us here just to watch you roast meat?" The only woman among the three by the campfire was a bit annoyed.

Quincy glanced at the woman wearing a green-patterned mask. He usually super arrogant, showed a hint of a smile.

"Chloe, you gotta eat well before working." Quincy didn't mind Chloe's tone at all. Instead, he applied some grease and sprinkled some seasoning on the beast's leg, making it sizzle under the flames.

Chloe Flores shook her head and turned to another tall man, saying, "Finnegan, you came from the neighboring city. Everything settled over there?"

Finnegan Ward stood straight, his face expressionless, with his hands behind his back, exuding a super cold vibe. "There's nothing a knife can't solve."

Quincy snorted, clearly annoyed with Finnegan's words. Wasn't he implying that Quincy wasn't ruthless enough? That was only because his city didn't have a freak like William!

Although he was unhappy, Quincy didn't say anything. After all, Finnegan was sent by the higher-ups to help him.

"Quincy, I get the situation somewhat. Are we just gonna wait here for William?" Chloe knew that these male Lords in the Zero Commerce Guild were all super arrogant, so the role of mediator fell to her.

"To be precise, we're hiding and waiting for him to come." Quincy sneered, his eyes filled with obvious hatred. "William has gained a lot this time. He's already a four-star Evolving person. Although the three of us together aren't afraid of him, it's still better to be safe. Our cities are all in bad shape and can't afford any mistakes on our part."

Chloe nodded, and even Finnegan didn't object, clearly agreeing with this. Compared to their own development, William wasn't worth them paying too high a price.

"This time, I'll let him taste what it's like to be ganged up on! I've found him an opponent that's incredibly formidable." Quincy said with a smug smile, biting his teeth, "The meat's done. Come and taste how I've done. Don't worry too much about that guy. This time, we might get double the benefits."
