Chapter 331 Ghost Painter, Sorcerer

After a round of shooting, both sides ran out of bullets.

The ammo at Cloud Peak Manor was what they had grabbed from the armory last time and what they had scavenged recently. But after the last zombie battle, they didn't have much left. Even when the main force left, they didn't touch these resources, leaving them for Candice to defend the base.

As for Accraville City Prison, most of their ammo was leftover stock from the prison's original armed forces, and they didn't have much either.

Since no one was a sharpshooter, the losses were minor after the long-range shootout, with only about ten people dead. Most of these were from Accraville City Prison since they were the ones charging uphill and losing the terrain advantage.

But after this exchange of fire, the prisoners from Accraville City Prison were confident they'd win today.

They had done their homework and knew the main force of Cloud Peak Manor had already left, leaving behind only the weak.

Maybe after today, this beautiful resort would be theirs.

This place was way better than the gloomy prison.

Many prisoners couldn't hide their excitement.

They had heard there were many women here, all charming!

Arthur walked among his men, gnawing on a blood-streaked beast leg while staring at Candice, the leader of Cloud Peak Manor, with eyes full of desire.

There was direct conflict between Arthur's Accraville City Prison and William. Although there was no evidence, everyone knew who killed Armando.

But Arthur didn't see this as hatred, nor did he feel the need to avenge Armando.

Until he saw the formidable William in Accraville City.

Arthur realized that if he wanted his ambitions to become a reality, William was a roadblock he had to remove.

As for how to kill him, whether it was by his own hand or not, it didn't matter.

Dignity and morality? Arthur preached these to his men, but in his heart, he didn't care at all. Those things didn't work!

If someone could give him a bottle of four-star Evolution Elixir now, he would be willing to bow down and even offer himself!

So when Zero Commerce Guild approached him, Arthur agreed without a second thought and chose the easiest task—attacking Cloud Peak Manor.

For this, Arthur didn't even ask for any reward because he wanted to see why the formidable William, who made him feel fear, had migrated from afar and set up his base at Cloud Peak Manor! There must be some secret here that outsiders didn't know.

This was Arthur, a greedy, cunning, unscrupulous, yet thoughtful desperado. These factors paved his path to nine-star evolution in his previous life.

Today, Arthur had to take over this place.

Arthur stopped. About 60 feet ahead was the valiant Candice.

"Long time no see, Ms. Wright. Not a cop anymore, now a lapdog?" Arthur sneered, his eyes scanning the crowd at Cloud Peak Manor but not spotting any other familiar faces he remembered.

"Villains remain villains, even in the apocalypse, still doing evil deeds!" Candice said.

Hearing Candice's words, Arthur just shrugged and tossed the beast leg to the ground. "Come on, Ms. Wright. In the apocalypse, everyone's out for themselves. Aren't you? If not, you should be out there keeping the peace. Why join William and become his lackey? Bet you guard the door by day and serve him in bed by night."

The goons around him burst into laughter, some even chiming in.

"This chick's really something, as fit as a little leopard, really nice!"

"I love that tan skin, so tempting."

Their filthy words made the members of Cloud Peak Manor tremble with anger.

But Candice's face showed no sign of it.

"Are you done? Then let's fight." With that, Candice raised the Edge of the Moon, pointing it at Arthur. "Last time, I sent you to prison. This time, I'll send you to hell."

The two sides clashed at the main gate of Cloud Peak Manor.

Each side had hundreds of people. Such a scale of battle was unimaginable in peacetime, but in the apocalypse, this was becoming more common, though survivors were still getting used to it.

Within seconds, dozens of people were already on the ground, most with fatal injuries. This instant casualty count left both sides a bit stunned.

However, the apocalypse had been going on for several months, and almost everyone had experienced killing. This discomfort was quickly suppressed, and the more brutal fighting began.

Candice faced off against Arthur and immediately felt his strength.

Contrary to Arthur's rough appearance, his fighting style was strange and delicate. He didn't engage Candice directly but started moving around her. Every couple of seconds, a black ghost would appear beside him, sometimes even a skeleton wrapped in black mist with rotting flesh.

In just a short while, he had summoned nearly ten of these ghostly things.

Candice learnt from William that Arthur had the Ghost Painter profession, and these were his professional abilities.

Arthur sneered, "Ms. Wright, show your skills, or soon you won't even have a chance to fight back."

Pressing her lips together, Candice didn't speak but waved her hand at Arthur.

Arthur was puzzled by Candice's reaction.

The next moment, he understood.

A card appeared in the air, with red patterns on it, spinning nimbly. With each spin, a Wind Blade would shoot down.

"Sorcerer! Gale Curse!" Candice used her profession right away. She knew the sooner she won, the fewer losses Cloud Peak Manor would suffer.

She had already seen that the members of Cloud Peak Manor were at a disadvantage against the thugs from Accraville City Prison.

"This profession is quite interesting!" Arthur smiled and shook his head, praising it. A ghost voluntarily stood under the card, letting the Wind Blade hit it.

The body composed of black mist faded under the Wind Blade but did not disperse.

"You're so weak!" Arthur smiled and was about to summon more ghosts when the card in the sky suddenly flashed, and a giant Wind Blade, several times larger than the previous ones, shot out from the card, heading straight for Arthur.

At the same time, on the road leading to Cloud Peak Manor, a hundred horses were galloping, each carrying a knight with a lance on their back.

The Lowe Family had arrived.
