Chapter 252 Kill Beastmaster!

William almost instantly activated his Sprint skill.

His sudden appearance startled the Beastmaster. Realizing the extreme danger, it yanked on the four iron chains, only to find one of them suddenly light. Looking over, it saw that only half of a Skin-Free Mutant Dog remained attached to the chain.

Using the Sprint skill, William instantly killed one of the Skin-Free Mutant Dogs.

He would have preferred to take down the Beastmaster in one fell swoop, but Sprint only doubled his speed for a scant three seconds. Even with The Light of Full Strength amplifying his power, he could only guarantee a single kill in that brief window.

However, it was enough to shock both the Beastmaster and the Throat Seizer behind it.

In just one second, the Beastmaster, whose overall strength was second only to the leader Throat Seizer, had already lost one of its subordinates.

It was important to note that the Beastmaster's strength mainly lay in these four Skin-Free Mutant Dogs. Now that one was killed, its strength was reduced by a quarter, which naturally shook the Throat Seizer.

William wouldn't miss this opportunity. After swinging his blade, he immediately charged forward, instantly casting SealFlame Blade, aiming a fierce slash directly at the Beastmaster.

A huge blood-colored canine shadow appeared in front of the Beastmaster, colliding with the Flame Blade. After a crisp sound, the canine shadow shattered, but the Flame Blade was also blocked. Apart from some flames causing minor burns to the tail of a Skin-Free Mutant Dog below, William's most powerful attack was stopped.

William squinted, knowing that he had met a real opponent today. The Beastmaster clearly had more than one innate skill. The powerful defensive skill it just used was also undoubtedly one of its innate abilities.

William quickly changed his strategy. Instead of charging forward, he rammed to the side, knocking over a zombie. With a stomp from his Bloodstride Boots, its head was crushed, and a faint power flowed into William's body.

Then, William discreetly fired a shot.

This cunning move was one of the many combat techniques William had mastered in his previous life. But on the battlefield, the only thing that mattered was survival.

Sprint, swing the blade, charge, Flame Blade, sidestep and shoot—this rapid sequence of actions left the Beastmaster overwhelmed.

Then it moved one of its arms, and a Skin-Free Mutant Dog raised its head towards William, but a bullet came flying.

The Beastmaster was very cautious about protecting its fatal weak point, the head. However, it had no hands, and William's move was indeed quite insidious. The head, which was very similar to a human's, was instantly blown apart.

William felt a surge of joy. He had prepared for a prolonged battle, considering he was only a two-star Evolving person facing a level-three rare mutated zombie. Even with his high strength, he wasn't confident in ending the fight quickly.

But he hadn't thought he would take down the Beastmaster just like that.

He immediately shifted his attention to the level-four Throat Seizer, who was sitting on a Corpse Ape and heading towards him.

After taking a few steps forward, William sensed something was wrong. He instinctively leaped backward, but still felt a sharp pain in his leg, causing him to stumble.

Before he could react, a wave of scorching heat rushed towards him, reaching him in an instant.

The favorable situation just moments ago had suddenly reversed, bringing a sense of deadly threat.

William, however, remained calm under pressure. Instead of struggling to stand, he rolled with the fall, planting Edge of the Moon in the ground and using the momentum to slide sideways.

A massive fireball grazed his body and shot past, accompanied by the screams of both humans and zombies, clearly caught in the crossfire.

William didn't collapse but bounced up the moment he touched the ground. Almost purely by instinct, he swung his blade in a direction. After a scream, he finally got a clearer view of the situation.

The Beastmaster wasn't dead.

Earlier, William ambushed and killed one Skin-Free Mutant Dog. Later, he used Seal: Flame Blade, but another Skin-Free Mutant Dog blocked it with its innate skill, falling into a weakened state itself.

Of the remaining two Skin-Free Mutant Dogs, one was spewing something out when William fired his sneak attack shot. William thought that with the main body dead, this Skin-Free Mutant Dog would either die or have its skill interrupted.

Normally, that would be the case, but William didn't know that the fourth, seemingly docile Skin-Free Mutant Dog also had an innate skill, which saved the Beastmaster's life.

It appeared to be a consciousness transfer skill. The moment the Beastmaster's head was blown apart by William, its consciousness transferred into this Skin-Free Mutant Dog.

William recognized the skill when he saw the Skin-Free Mutant Dog's eyes—they were almost identical to the Beastmaster's. This Skin-Free Mutant Dog took advantage of William's distraction towards the Throat Seizer and bit his calf, while another Skin-Free Mutant Dog used the opportunity to launch a fireball skill.

However, once this ambush failed, it meant certain death.

As William's body sprang up, he instantly slashed and killed the fireball-launching Skin-Free Mutant Dog. Then, with another shot from his other hand, he killed the consciousness-transferred Skin-Free Mutant Dog.

Although the Beastmaster had played some tricks, it still couldn't escape the fate of being headshot.

The remaining Skin-Free Mutant Dog collapsed to the ground after losing its main body, spewing a large amount of foul blood from its mouth and nose, clearly not going to survive.

After glancing at his blood-soaked calf, William didn't pay it more attention as the Throat Seizer had already reached him, letting out a piercing scream at him.

Its most loyal and powerful subordinate had just been killed by William.

A level-four Throat Seizer, even among the countless zombies in Accraville City, was a terrifying existence. Now, as it stood directly in front of William, a wave of oppressive force hit him.

William raised the Edge of the Moon, his face full of fighting spirit. He wanted to see which was stronger: this level-four Throat Seizer or the level-four Three-Tailed Demon Frog!

While William was fighting desperately, others were also giving their all.

Lucy was with Candice and Natalie, fiercely battling a level-three Hexarm Zombie.

Candice and Natalie were among the earliest to follow William. After spending so much time with William, even though they were only one-star Evolving persons, their strength had become quite formidable. Especially Candice, who already had some combat skills. Now, with the Edge of the Moon and gray-level bulletproof vests and firearms, she was in her element. William had incorporated Devil's Gold into Natalie's Whip, upgrading it into a white-level weapon with powerful abilities.

With Lucy as their backup, Candice and Natalie fought without hesitation. Ordinary level-two zombies stood no chance against the trio, who formed the most terrifying female combat group on the battlefield, killing with abandon until they encountered the level-three Hexarm Zombie.

The zombie had a massive body, standing 8 feet tall and extremely broad, like a wall. The most terrifying part was the six arm-like appendages on one side of its body, each as thick as a basin. These arms were like stone hammers, capable of smashing even Evolving persons into pulp.

Earlier, Abigail, who was an Evolving person and a friend of Clarissa and Gemma, was killed instantly by this creature.

"Shield up! Let's kill it!" Natalie shouted.

Usually very concerned about her appearance, she was now filthy, her face covered in blood and grime, with a piece of zombie flesh hanging from her ear. She didn't care anymore. Seeing the Hexarm Zombie kill so many people had made her eyes red with rage.

She twirled her Whip and lashed it at the level-three zombie with all her might. At the same time, a white Wind Blade appeared at the tip of the whip!
