Chapter 277 Brand New Professional Skills

Quincy was caught off guard by Chester suddenly busting out a new skill.

But Quincy didn't sweat it. He charged at Chester, aiming his White Bone Thorn right at Chester's throat.

His whole body was glowing gold; was his throat just as tough?

Quincy was itching to find out.

Chester, feeling a surge of power inside him, shook off the earlier discomfort. Seeing Quincy coming at him, he roared and charged back. His skill kicked in again, and a golden wall formed from the shadow of his fist.

The black Wolf Spirit and the white bone thorn smashed into the golden wall.

The sounds of the clash, the impacts, and their roars filled the air.

Void was also a pro, and like Chester, he fought with his hands. But when he went up against the Wolf Spirit, he got totally wrecked, almost losing a hand in one hit.

Chester was different, though. His skill made him almost as fast as light. Even in The Gilded Form, he was blazingly quick.

Chester collided with all the Wolf Spirits and bone thorns.

The noise drew everyone's attention.

Chester stumbled back a few steps, his golden nostrils bleeding. His golden fists were cut up, with deep gashes down to the bone. The golden skin couldn't stop the bleeding, and his arms were shaking a bit.

Quincy also stepped back, but just one step. Two of the white bones on his hands were broken, and a bunch of the Wolf Spirits were floating around aimlessly.

"I really underestimated you," Quincy said.

He stomped his right foot hard on the ground, and all the Wolf Spirits flew to his forehead, instantly merging into his body. The Wolf Spirits, which had been soaking up energy since the fight started, gave some of it back to Quincy, and the broken white bones started to heal and grow back fast.

At the same time, the ground cracked under Quincy's stomp.

Chester caught his breath, ready to go again. He knew without The Gilded Form, his regular body defense wouldn't cut it against Quincy. Even though he was hurt, he felt he could keep fighting.

He even thought he could take Quincy down.

But as Chester took a step forward, he felt something pulling him back. Looking down, he saw his feet tangled in black misty threads, making every move feel like he was stuck in quicksand.

"This skill's pretty neat, but you're up against me. It's useless," Quincy grinned, his hands retracting the white bones, which instantly grew back, this time forming white bone scales. Once they covered his hands, the scales turned long and sharp.

Quincy started shaking his hands, moving faster and faster until they blurred like spinning tires. The white scales turned into a sharp meat grinder, slicing through the air with a whistling sound.

"I'm a dual-professional!" Quincy laughed, striking at the trapped Chester with his hands.

Chester looked at the approaching white meat grinder, gathering his last bit of strength. He knew it was do-or-die time.

Sometimes, even the bravest hearts, the strongest wills, are not enough.

Hayden, meanwhile, was having a field day. He was Quincy's top guy. Not only did he get the Weapon Maestro profession, but he also scored the Career Promotion Scroll.

Now, Hayden was an intermediate Weapon Maestro, with a new skill in his arsenal—dagger mastery.

This was Hayden's ace in the hole.

In the Zero Commerce Guild, the only ones who could spar with Hayden were either big shots like Quincy who could take him out fast, or those he could take out fast. Hayden had to find other targets to fight. Up until now, no one had lasted ten seconds against him.

Finally, he'd thought, a worthy opponent.

But the man had seemed preoccupied, his focus elsewhere.

Then, a shadow fell.

Hayden saw his opponent draw his knife, just like before, but something was off. The knife movement seemed weird, not as quick and precise as usual.

As a Weapon Maestro, Hayden picked up on these things right away.

But as the knife swung, it became kind of blurry, with shadows forming, like a mountain.

Hayden's eyes widened in alarm. As he tried to dodge, it felt like a mountain was pressing down on him, making it impossible to move.

He used all his strength to barely raise his daggers to block above his head.

"Seal: Mountain Knife." William unleashed a brand-new move.

The Radiant Seal Blade Master, powered up by a Career Promotion Scroll, was shining in this life-or-death battle!

When William first learned the Radiant Seal Blade Master skill, he knew it was powerful. But he also had two side professions, Artisan and Gardener, and knew his promotion choices would be tough.

No matter which profession, William needed a bunch of Level Promotion Scrolls.

So, the last time he got a Level Promotion Scroll, William gave it to Lucy. Partly because side professions benefit the whole team, but also because he didn't know which profession to promote.

But this time, right now, his choice was clear.

Originally, William could have chosen to promote a skill from Honorable Artisan to boost his combat power, but it wouldn't have an immediate effect. So, Radiant Seal Blade Master was the only choice.

William chose to promote inscription techniques.

Radiant Seal Blade Master had two branches: inscription techniques and blade techniques. Inscription techniques couldn't do much on their own; they needed blade techniques. Before, the inscription technique skill was 'flame,' and the blade technique skill was 'Blue Ocean Severance.' Together, they formed Seal: Flame Blade.

This was William's most powerful attack. When he swung with all his might, he could unleash three Blue Ocean Severance strikes almost at the same time, forming a powerful single strike. That's why William often nailed it in one hit.

But this fighting style drained a ton of mental energy, which was only slightly eased after he took Mind Parasite powder.

Because of the unique nature of the Radiant Seal Blade Master profession, it was different from other professions in that it allowed for multiple skill combos.

When inscription techniques combined with blade techniques, any branch promotion resulted in new skills. These combos increased with more promotions, creating more possibilities.

William promoted inscription techniques, gaining a new skill: 'Mountain.' Combined with Blue Ocean Severance, it became—Seal: Mountain Knife.

It didn't have the sharpness and burning effect of Flame Blade but brought the weight of a mountain down on the enemy.

The white daggers shattered, along with Hayden's life.
