Chapter 120 Trapped in a Siege

If Natalie's whip were a silver-grade weapon like the Edge of the Moon, her skill would be enough to quickly kill all the mutated boars within her attack range, even the level-two boars. Their level of evolution is not enough to withstand the power of a weapon just below the rare grade.

However, the Mutated willow twig had only undergone Homogeneous Strengthening and Enchantment, making it merely a white-grade weapon. It could only injure the level-two mutated boars but cannot deliver a fatal blow to them.

Nevertheless, Natalie's attack still injured more than half of the boars. The level-one boars were even more severely wounded, with some already lying on the ground, temporarily losing their combat ability.

Candice stood up by the window, looking for Landon, but among the dozens of boars, the human had disappeared.

Helpless, Candice could only shoot at the level-two mutated boars.

With the modified rifle and bullets, as long as she hit their vital points, it would be a one-shot kill.

One by one, the mutated boars fell under Candice's precise and rapid shooting.

The results seemed glorious, but they came at a cost. Each bullet consumed materials from the sharpest part of a mutated creature's body, and Natalie risked her life to play her part.

Lucy's face grew paler and paler as she was continuously casting her Air Shield on Natalie. Almost every second, Natalie in the midst of the boars would face attacks strong enough to shatter the Air Shield. After just five or six seconds, Lucy's mental strength was running low, and she could only hold on for two or three more seconds.

When Candice pulled the trigger, no bullets came out of the gun; the armor-piercing rounds were exhausted. Her expression changed, and she shouted to Natalie below, "No more bullets, get up here!"

Natalie, who had been waiting for this command, swung her whip upwards, hooked it onto the drainpipe, and pulled herself out of the boar herd. Candice reached out and pulled her into the house.

At this moment, the last Air Shield Lucy could apply shattered. If it had been a second later, Natalie wouldn't have made it up.

"You're hurt," Candice said as she noticed the bloodstain on Natalie's abdomen, indicating she had been injured in the fight, and the Air Shield hadn't fully protected her.

Gritting her teeth, Lucy cast a Restoration spell on Natalie, completely depleting her mental strength.

Candice suggested, "Let's go upstairs."

Candice supported the feeble Lucy, and the three of them headed for the rooftop, where their escape route was. They would jump to another building, leaving the rest to William.

But before they leave the room, the previously closed door was suddenly slammed open. Landon, with bloodshot eyes, appeared at the door, accompanied by the most robust level-two mutated boar. The white crystal on its forehead had black streaks, indicating it was about to evolve to level three.

Landon's eyes were filled with rage and fury.

In just a short while, more than twenty of his boars had died!

Including those killed by this group earlier, more than half of his boar herd had gone!

Landon had been scared, really scared.

He couldn't understand the gun in that woman's hand; its power was too great, capable of killing a level-two boar with just one shot. Even the most advanced automatic rifle he had ever seen couldn't cause such damage.

He also couldn't understand the semi-transparent shield that occasionally appeared around that seductive woman. That small thing could withstand the full force of a level-two boar's charge.

Landon had been so scared that his legs were shaking.

He even considered running away with his most powerful boars.

But when he cautiously sneaked into the building and reached the room, he heard the people inside were out of bullets and that the shield could no longer appear. So, his courage returned. He wanted to capture these women, find out what was going on, then torture and kill them, and finally feed them to his boars!

The boars rushed into the building, charging towards the second floor, but the door was blocked, and under the window were more than a dozen unwilling mutated boars guarding it.

In an instant, the three women went from attackers to defenders, trapped and unable to escape.

"Die, all of you, die!" Landon muttered, his voice filled with cold killing intent. He gave the three women no chance, roaring at them as the boars charged past him, tusks bared, aiming to kill them.

Candice pulled Lucy behind her, drew the Edge of the Moon, and faced the boars. Natalie, biting her lip, dragged her exhausted body to assist Candice in the attack.

The room was instantly filled with the shadows of blades and whips.

The first boar to charge didn't expect the Edge of the Moon to be so sharp and was decapitated by Candice. The boar behind it tried to dodge but was caught by Natalie's whip, pulled towards Candice's blade, and another boar corpse appeared in the room.

Landon, who had already entered the room, instinctively took two steps back.

These women still had weapons that could kill level-two mutated boars in one strike!

Landon's courage, bravery, ferocity, and killing intent were all based on his boars. When he realized his Battle Pets were not invincible, he reverted to his former self, an introverted, world-weary, and coward loser.

Perhaps many years later, as he grew stronger, he would completely shed his old self. But for now, he lacked the tenacity and fearlessness that William had developed over ten years in the apocalypse.

However, the fierce assault of the boar herd gave Landon a bit of courage. The three women were already forced to the window.

Even with weapons that could instantly kill level-two mutated creatures, they couldn't ignore their own lives for a single kill. There were too many boars, and Candice could only protect herself.

Jack yelled, "Candice, jump!"

Jack's voice came from below. Candice glanced back and saw Jack on a motorcycle, charging into the mutated boars below. After knocking one aside, he rolled off the bike and began slashing with the Edge of the Moon in hand.

Jack repeated, "Jump!"

Candice acted decisively, throwing Lucy into Natalie's arms and covering them as they jumped. Then she forced a boar back with a slash and followed them out the window.

Landon quickly moved to the window, watching his boars jumping down one after another. They might not be able to jump up to the second floor, but jumping down was a piece of cake.

Candice, Jack, and the others moved quickly, but the mutated boars were even faster. Their level-two evolved bodies were far beyond what a few humans could match. In an instant, nearly thirty remaining boars surrounded the four of them.
