Chapter 185 Trapped Beast

In the small pouch at Archer's waist, William found three Level 2 Magic Crystals and over fifty Level 1 Magic Crystals.

On Philip and Dariu Lancaster, he found seven Level 3 Magic Crystals, over two hundred Level 1 Magic Crystals, a white-grade willow leaf knife, a gray-grade dagger, and a bottle of one-star Evolution Elixir.

"I can see more killings and looting happening in the future. Even I feel a bit greedy seeing all this," Lucy said, shaking her head at the thought of human nature.

Cecil, looking at the four corpses, was surprised by William's ruthlessness in killing all the Royal Guild members.

Did he know what kind of organization the Royal Guild was?

Cecil felt even more grateful to William, thinking everything William did was for him. He ignored the Magic Crystals and elixirs, knowing they might not keep them if they didn't win.

Pill, Natalie, and David's assistants returned, having searched for Stuart in the city.

"Found him!" Natalie said, cracking her whip and leading the way. A few minutes later, they arrived outside a courtyard.

David's other two assistants emerged from the shadows and approached William. "They're inside, very quiet."

William knew what they were waiting for, but those people were already dead.

Inside, Stuart and Delia sat staring at a long box on the table. Dean and a group of Evolving persons stood nearby, looking uneasy.

Delia asked, "Stuart, are you really going to hand this over? We lost several Evolving persons and hundreds of guards to get this from that Level 2 roulette. How can you just give it away?"

Stuart glanced at Delia without speaking.

She continued, "I know, it's my fault. If I hadn't impulsively killed Cecil's woman, none of this would have happened."

Stuart sighed, "Don't say that. You are responsible, but it's not entirely your fault. The Royal Guild finding out was inevitable. Our strength isn't much different from theirs, but they still have some reservations. They need our base as a safeguard, so we can use this to get their help."

"But what about later? When we become their vassals, what happens when they find out?" Dean asked.

"We'll have no choice but to hand over our wealth," Stuart sighed.

Dean looked at the box, clearly upset. "It's white-grade equipment now. If we inlaid it with one of those gems, who knows what level it could reach? But we don't understand these things. Hopefully, the Royal Guild and Cecil's people will fight each other to the death!"

"That's not going to happen. The four from the Royal Guild are too strong; they won't lose," Stuart said, sighing again. "Give it to them. We have no idea how to find the gems. This thing is useless to us. We might as well trade it for some peace."

A peculiar glint shone in Stuart's eyes. His true thoughts remained unknown to all, being as crafty as he was.

"This thing might not bring peace," a young voice suddenly said.

Hearing this, Stuart and the others jumped up. As Evolving persons, their reactions were quick. Two pulled out guns, and the others reached for their weapons.

The roof shattered, and a figure descended. Whip shadows covered everyone in the room!

At the same time, a knife light broke through the door, instantly slicing the people at the entrance in half.

Pill charged in with a roar, using the knife light as cover, making it impossible to defend against. When the whip shadows disappeared, Natalie had already landed and bit off the neck of a burly man who hadn't yet fallen.

Several agile figures followed, quickly taking positions in the corners of the room.

Stuart shielded his son and woman, raising his arm. An ice shield appeared, blocking the fierce attack from above.

Delia stood beside him, brandishing two black diamond-shaped darts as she stared down the woman in the center of the room.

"Elemental Shield, not bad!" William praised from the door, looking at the ice shield on Stuart's arm. "Elemental Master is a powerful class. You should have another skill, The Thorn of Elements! Why not show it to everyone?"

Stuart's face twitched, and his heart sank.

In front of him, his subordinates lay on the ground. The sudden attack and group skill caught them off guard. Half were killed instantly, and the few who reacted quickly were severely injured, lying there groaning in pain. The room reeked of blood.

Suddenly, the ice shield shattered. It had taken a severe hit and could no longer maintain its form, turning into ice shards on the ground.

Two black lights shot out, one aimed at Natalie and the other at William, clearly the leader.

Delia had launched her attack.

Lucy's reaction was quick. Almost simultaneously, she raised her hand slightly, and two Air Shields appeared beside Natalie and William.

These small automatic defensive shields intercepted the two black lights.

Delia first looked surprised, then sneered disdainfully.

She acknowledged the shields were novel and potent, possibly from a professional skill. However, assuming invincibility due to this was a mistake.

Her darts weren't so easily blocked.

Pill, with a mouthful of blood, saw the black light and slightly raised its ferocious head. Over a dozen golden hairs, a result of its Fine Needle and Dense Thread talent, shot out, forming a barrier that intercepted the black light before it could reach Natalie.

However, just as the black light was about to hit the golden threads, it eerily curved in mid-air, slicing towards Natalie's abdomen from another angle. By now, everyone could see the black light was a high-speed spinning metal dart that, upon penetration, would instantaneously shred the internal organs.

This was Delia's profession, Whirlwind Escort's skill—Boomerang.

Seeing the metal dart evade Pill's skill and unpredictably bypass the Air Shield, about to hit her, Natalie remained calm. She took a slight step back and then activated Quadrilateral Dance Spinning again!

The shadows of the whip enveloped her.

As the Windancer skill was a group attack, the injured around her were out of luck. They had no defense left and were killed by the whip shadows.

Stuart's heart ached. These were the Evolving persons he had painstakingly trained over the past month, and now they were all dead. Even if these people were defeated in the end, he would be left as a leader with no followers.

Stuart struck with hatred. As he raised his arm, the air suddenly turned cold, and a light blue shadow condensed in the air, quickly forming a one-meter-long giant ice spike. With a movement of his hand, it thrust towards William.

Boomerang was unpredictable, but its attacks were still traceable. Amidst the countless whip shadows, one finally struck the dart, sending the sharp black weapon flying far away, completely neutralizing the threat.

William, with a cold smile, reached out and caught the dart barehanded just before it could bypass the Air Shield and cut into him.

Delia's expression shifted dramatically as she was caught off guard by someone's ability to block her attack with an open palm.

How precise must the timing be?! How strong must his hands be?!

"You, you're a two-star Evolving person!" Delia stammered.

Finally, she recalled what Dean had said earlier and realized William was a two-star Evolving person.

William said nothing, instead throwing the dart in his hand. It hit the ice spike in mid-air, shattering it into pieces that scattered around.

In the blink of an eye, Stuart and Delia's attacks were neutralized.

Stuart was about to launch a second attack when he suddenly saw a pair of blood-red eyes full of hatred appear before him. Startled, he quickly retreated, and the Elemental Shield appeared again.

Those were Cecil's eyes, the same eyes he had seen in the prison cell.

Cecil, holding a giant shield, crashed into the Elemental Shield.

The room echoed with the loud collision.

Stuart was forced back, still holding his son. The Elemental Shield couldn't withstand the Shield Bearer's impact and shattered after a moment. Stuart's hand pressed against the giant shield, enduring the increasing force.

Dean was already terrified. Always sheltered by his father, he had turned pale when William appeared. The woman who descended from the sky had turned the surroundings into a hellish scene, making his legs limp. Now, he closed his eyes and buried his head in his father's arms.

He was also an Evolving person. If he had joined forces with Stuart, they might have been able to withstand Cecil's attack.

But... Dean was ultimately a sheltered soul. Even being an Evolving person couldn't boost his courage.

Stuart was pinned against the wall, which cracked under the pressure. He spat a mouthful of blood onto the shield, and his right hand twisted unnaturally. It was broken.

"Stuart!" Delia exclaimed, rushing over to help. However, Cecil threw the giant shield at her and then punched Stuart, who was now only able to protect his son with one hand.

The room was small, and Delia, arriving hastily, was taken aback by the huge shield, causing her to be thrown back. When she got up, blood was flowing from her nose and mouth.

Neither the Elemental Master nor the Whirlwind Escort excelled in strength or defense, and this blow had seriously injured her.

But she persisted, rushing to Stuart, who was being beaten by Cecil, and kicked at Cecil.

William waved his hand, stopping others from rushing to help.

"His own business, let him handle it."

With this, he walked over to the overturned table, bent down, and picked up the long box.
