Chapter 328 The Battle Between Two Women
The starlit arrow zipped right through Chloe's Phantom.
"I told you, your tricks won't work on me," Chloe chuckled, her Phantom gliding towards Stella. Her short blades clashed with a metallic ring, and the air seemed to thicken, freezing the space around them.
As a long-range fighter, Stella always kept her distance. She had been far from Chloe, but whatever skill Chloe used had trapped her in this sluggish state, making her movements painfully slow.
Surprise flashed across Stella's beautiful face.
"Condensing Death Channel!" Chloe whispered, her body blurring within the gel-like death channel between her and Stella, lunging straight at the immobilized Stella.
Chloe's minions grinned, unfazed by the distant explosions in the sky. Their Lord, Chloe, had taken down countless foes and mutated beings with this move. Even among other Lords, fewer than three could survive from it.
Starting the fight with a kill move, Chloe's minions knew that despite her relaxed demeanor, she took Stella very seriously and wasn't optimistic about today's situation.
Folks from Cloud Peak Manor and Star Beauty Company were stunned. They hadn't expected Stella, second only to Chester in Accraville City, to be controlled so easily and seemingly on the brink of death.
This was a three-star Evolving person with green gear. In Accraville City, only William's purple weapon was better. How could this be happening?
Could this be the turning point of today's battle? If Stella lost, Chloe would be free to influence the other two battlefields, leading to the inevitable defeat of the Accraville City coalition.
And Chester's situation didn't look good either!

Her short blades were about to pierce Stella, but the battle-hardened female Lord sensed extreme danger. Chloe dodged without hesitation, breaking the Condensing Death Channel she had established, which was no longer a concern.
Chloe would never go down with someone else, never.
After dodging, several brilliant stars shot towards her, barely missing her.
"This is the Shuriken's skill, Meteor Spinning," Stella said, feeling her freedom of movement return. She flicked her green longbow and retorted to Chloe.
Survivors had learned to value psychological tactics in battle; sometimes, they could be the key to victory.
It was like taunting or dancing provocatively before a game starts.
Stella continued, "Also, your Phantom trick isn't your profession's skill but a regular one boosted by your mental power. My attacks aren't useless; you just used mental power to counter them, right?"
Stella raised her bow again, this time with three gray enchantment arrows.
"Since you started with a kill move to end this quickly, I'll play along." Stella's voice was sweet, but now it dripped with killing intent. "Triple Starbolt!"
Three beams of light shot out almost instantly. As Chloe dodged the previous attack and launched another silent one, they appeared right in front of her.
Stella stood her ground, and the distance between the two women was close after Chloe's charge. The three arrows were so fast that they hit Chloe almost immediately.
The three gray arrows passed through the Phantom. While others lamented the ineffectiveness of such a powerful skill, Chloe suddenly reverted to her physical form, with two deep wounds in her left shoulder and abdomen.
The green Shuriken combined with the gray arrows and the Ethereal Archer's skill broke Chloe's Phantom ability. She had dodged one arrow but got hit by the other two. Chloe deactivated the Phantom skill just as the arrows hit, but everything happened so fast that it was visually delayed.
Chloe had no choice; staying in Phantom mode would have drained her mental power instantly, leaving her unable to move, let alone fight.
So, she had to take the damage from the two arrows.
A smile spread across Stella's face. She had won the battle, and without a scratch.
But when she saw Chloe's eyes behind the mask, she felt like she was being watched by a venomous snake. In an instant, she couldn't move again.
This was different from the Condensing death channel's control. She could still move slowly then, but now she couldn't move at all.
At the same time, Stella felt a mental pressure.
Stella knew she had been hit by a mental skill.
Behind her mask, Chloe's face turned pale rapidly, devoid of any color.
Crossing her short blades again, she launched one last charge at Stella, despite her severe injuries.
With the same blurred speed, even as more stars appeared behind her, Chloe didn't slow down.
Stella's face turned red as she struggled to break free from the mental control. She finally let out a scream, regaining control of her body at the last moment, but it was too late to dodge.
Stella tried to block with the green Shuriken, but it took time, and the short blades were already coming.
