Chapter 17 Tell Me
It was the 5.4 pistol obtained from the Roulette.
In the previous life, William's marksmanship had reached the level of an advanced marksman. Although at the beginning, there were significant differences in aspects such as body and eyesight compared to the previous life, his experience remained. And at this distance indoors, he had no reason to miss.
A series of gunshots rang out, bullets cutting through the darkness.
Surprisingly, William did not aim for the head of the iron-arm zombie because as he pulled out the pistol, this Second-Level zombie seemed to sense the danger as if it had already blocked its only weak point, the head, with its rigid iron arms.
The 5.4 pistol couldn't penetrate the iron arm, at least not with an 8-round magazine.
William chose to target the knees of this Second-Level zombie.
After the Second-Level zombie evolved, their movements were no longer slow, their steps no longer trembling. Their strength increased, their speed faster, and they even had unique abilities.
However, they also had weaknesses, except for some zombies that had evolved all their bodily functions, and the human body structure still bound them before reaching the fifth level.
The joints remained their weak points.
The Second-Level zombies, apart from mutant abilities like the iron arm, other parts could not withstand the close-range firepower of a pistol.
After six shots, both knees of the Iron Arm were broken, and it fell to the ground. The zombies had no sense of pain. But with elementary intelligence, Iron Arm roared continuously, feeling anger and a hint of fear.
William paused briefly, and the gunshots rang out again. This time, two shots directly blew off the other hand of the Iron Arm.
Now, the Second-Level evolved zombie, apart from its iron arms, was crippled in three limbs!
Seeing the Iron Arm struggling helplessly, William relaxed slightly.
He didn't have much confidence in a confrontation with the Second-Level zombie because he still lacked immunity to the virus. He didn't want to risk his life just after being reborn.
Although this method was somewhat shameless, it was the apocalypse, not a martial arts arena. William didn't feel remorse.
He discarded the empty magazine, replacing it with one containing three bullets and holstering the gun again. This item could be a lifesaver in critical moments.
The Second-Level zombie, unable to move and with only one iron arm usable, no longer posed any threat to William. After circling it a few times, William axed it into its head and killed it.
Digging out the white First-Level Magic Crystal from the iron arm's forehead, William felt a bit excited. This level of crystal would be quite valuable for several months, and he didn't expect to obtain one on the first day.
Where was the nearest Second-Level Roulette? William recalled that it seemed to be in a fitting room of a department store. He could check it out later, but finding it now would be pointless since there weren't enough Second-Level zombies for him to kill. The appearance of this iron arm zombie was entirely unexpected.
William vaguely remembered that there was a very powerful iron arm zombie in the city back then, which had evolved to the seventh level with golden arms. He wondered if this was the same one.
If it was, it was just bad luck for it in this life, encountering William, who was almost cheating.
After storing the white Second-Level Magic Crystal, William began collecting the Magic Crystals of ordinary zombies. At that moment, sounds of moving tables and chairs came from the classroom, followed by the door slowly opening a crack and a figure slowly squeezing out from inside.
"Are you here to save us?" the man with high myopia glasses asked.
Without lifting his head, William continued to collect the Magic Crystals and asked, "Who is Mrs. Foster?"
The man, who squeezed out, hesitated for a moment before whispering to the classroom, "Mrs. Foster, it seems like he's looking for you."
'In these times, beautiful women were popular. Even with monsters outside preying on people, someone was still thinking about her. She could bring such a powerful person to save them, which was truly enviable.' The man thought.
However, this man in his thirties with myopia glasses was just thinking. He still needed to escape with Lucy's help.
"Looking for me?" A surprised female voice came from inside. By the time William had collected the First-Level Magic Crystals, a young woman in a light pink long-sleeved T-shirt and light blue jeans stood in front of him.
Having seen dirty women in the apocalypse before, William was surprised by this woman's cleanliness. Apart from a hint of fear on her face, Lucy seemed no different from ordinary days. She had clean clothes, neat hair, and no dirt on her face. Her smooth skin glowed in the light from several students' phone flashlights, and well-fitted clothes outlined her almost perfect figure.
"Your students said you saw where the light fell just now. Tell me where it was," William said.
Stunned for a second, William reverted to his apocalyptic mindset. In his previous life, he had seen many beautiful women and had possessed many, even a famous A-list female star who for just a bottle of immunity potion.
In the apocalypse, apart from human life, women were probably the least valuable.
Clearly, including Lucy, these survivors did not expect that the man who had cleared out the zombies was only interested in that light.
The male teacher with high myopia glasses looked at the beautiful Lucy with some schadenfreude, thinking that beauty was indeed useless.
But he quickly realized that if that was the case, this man might not save them, which made him nervous.
The others were not foolish. They also realized the issue.
If this man knew the answer, he might just leave, and they would be back to being trapped as before. In just a few hours, they were already hungry and thirsty. If zombies didn't eat them, they would starve to death in the classroom.
Lucy took a deep breath, looked at William, and said, "I can tell you, but you have to get us out."
She wasn't used to blackmailing others, but reality forced her to do so. If she didn't make a demand now, by the time this powerful man left, they would be doomed. Already, zombies were starting to appear from the distant staircase, moving toward them with outstretched hands!
William sneered. This situation was expected. Upon hearing Lucy's words, he immediately raised the machete and placed it against the neck of the beautiful woman. The blade, stained with zombie flesh and blood, pressed directly against her fair and slender neck.
"What are you doing?"
"Let go of Mrs. Foster!"
"Your actions are illegal. Do you know that?"
Exclamations and reprimands filled the room. These people, who only knew how to hide and tremble in the face of zombies, always showed courage when facing their own kind. It was a kind of tragedy.
William said coldly, "Tell me where it is, or I'll kill you."
