Chapter 260 All Members Evolve
As William's announcement rang out, the crowd responded with thunderous applause and joyous cheers.
Everyone grinned widely, feeling like they were dreaming.
Among those people were the manor's elders and survivors who had gradually come here after hearing about the recruitment. Regardless of their background, they understood the value of the Evolution Elixir. Outside, people would rob and kill for a single Magic Crystal, even engaging in bloody battles. The Evolution Elixir, worth nearly a hundred Magic Crystals, was beyond valuable.
It used to be incredibly difficult to obtain an Evolution Elixir. Even if they risked their lives, they might not get ten Magic Crystals. But now, after just one battle, they had directly received an Evolution Elixir. It felt like a dream.
William understood their feeling very well. In his previous life, he had become an Evolving person after a year in the apocalypse, deeply appreciating the value of the Evolution Elixir.
Although he now had plenty of elixirs in this life, he could understand the extreme desire for them.
Those who were already Evolving persons were also ecstatic. The core team members had long desired the Edge of the Moon that could easily slice through zombies. It had almost become their ultimate dream, second only to the Evolution Elixir. Now, William was giving each of them one, making it feel unreal.
A good weapon could significantly boost combat effectiveness, so it was understandable that those Evolving persons were ecstatic.
Members of Sasha's warband and the Hungry Tiger Knights warband stared at the scene with immense envy.
Everyone had become an Evolving person, and those Evolving persons had received white Warblades called the Edge of the Moon. The name was beautiful, and the blade even more so.
During yesterday's battle, the combat prowess displayed by the Cloud Peak Base had already left them in awe. Over twenty thousand zombies, including five to six hundred high-level ones and even a level-four zombie, had been annihilated by them.
Now, everyone had become an Evolving person, and their strength had not only not diminished due to casualties but had rapidly increased.
Strategic thinkers like Sasha felt a mix of admiration and a tinge of fear towards the strength of Cloud Peak Manor.
Given time, how powerful would such a force become? When they eventually appeared before the major powers in Accraville City, what kind of presence would they have?
Darryl was secretly thrilled, thinking that his choice had indeed been the right one.
After the initial excitement had subsided, William brought over a tray covered with a cloth, feeling somewhat helpless about Natalie's little prank.
"As the ones who have followed me through thick and thin from the beginning, these are your rewards," William announced.
The tray was placed in front of Michelle, Candice, Jack, and Natalie. William lifted the cover, revealing four bottles of two-star Evolution Elixir.
Everyone gasped even louder than before.
This was practically the best thing one could get in the current apocalypse!
The two-star Evolving persons, including Sasha, Logan and Spencer, had concentrated the resources of entire teams to obtain a bottle of two-star Evolution Elixir.
Countless people had to die, and enormous sacrifices had to be made for them to obtain a single bottle of two-star Evolution Elixir.
But now, at Cloud Peak Manor, William had directly taken out four bottles!
Members of Sasha's warband and the Hungry Tiger Knights warband were stunned. They knew that William and Cecil, with the shield, were two-star Evolving persons, and Lucy, who could heal, and Gemma, with the ghostly face, were also two-star Evolving persons. Now, there would be four more two-star Evolving persons, making a total of eight!
And that didn't even include the terrifying level-three golden dog, Pill!
With such strength, sweeping through the Cloud Peak Mountain area shouldn't be a problem.
Even in Accraville City, they would be able to rank among the top forces!
Compared to them, the members of the two external warbands felt they weren't even qualified to be their subordinates.
Michelle and the other three were all smiles, each holding a bottle of two-star Evolution Elixir, but they didn't inject it yet. They were waiting for William to enhance it for them.
William also handed out some good equipment to Tom, Brian, and others as their reward.
These people weren't jealous as their combat abilities were significantly lower than the core members. Even in terms of merit, it made sense for the core members to get the two-star elixirs. After yesterday's battle, their trust in William had reached an unwavering level. They firmly believed that as long as they followed him, their chance to become two-star Evolvers would come.
After the rewards were distributed, members of Sasha's warband and the Hungry Tiger Knights warband left one after another. Although William always felt a bit strange about Sasha, he didn't want to be bound by past events. He decided to let things take their natural course with Sasha.
Darryl also left with his men, taking with him the things William had privately prepared for him. Darryl now had a new goal to strive for. In a couple of days, he would accompany William back to Accraville City, but before that, he needed to settle his people.
Once only the people of Cloud Peak Manor were left, William began to organize his warriors into groups. The team of about two hundred was divided into five groups, with Candice, Jack, Natalie, Brian, and Clarissa as the leaders, each group having around forty people. Tom and others served as vice-captains.
Michelle was responsible for overall coordination, essentially acting as the general captain, a role she was well-suited for.
After the groups were formed, they continued to clean up the corpses. With everyone's participation, the efficiency had significantly increased. However, it would still take several days to restore the place to its original state.
Around noon, the Black-clad Convoy arrived. Judging by the timing, Yves hadn't gone far and was waiting for news. This behavior was understandable, but it also solidified William's view of the convoy as merely a trading partner, unlike Sasha's warband, which he now considered allies, bound by a sense of mutual support.
"Mr. Wright, you're amazing! You wiped out so many zombies. I really admire you," Yves exclaimed, his expression sincere. He had seen the zombie horde from a distance a few days ago and had fled far away in fear. He hadn't expected Cloud Peak Manor to survive and even eliminate the horde.
Thinking about the sea of Magic Crystals, Yves felt a twinge of envy.
"You're here for the payment, I presume?" William spoke, pulling a bottle of two-star elixir from his pocket and tossing it to Yves, who caught it with a wide grin.
William had a stroke of luck yesterday, using a limited number of level-two Magic Crystals to produce five bottles of two-star elixir. After evolving all the core team members to two-star, he had one bottle left for payment.
Yves's eyes darted as he tried to continue pitching his goods, but William wasn't interested. Yves could only sigh and leave.
Although he didn't make any money, he did get a piece of news: William was planning to use the invitation card Yves had given him to go to Accraville City.
Sitting in his car, Yves stroked his chin, wondering if he should join in the fun. He had a feeling that the trip to Accraville City would be very interesting.
