Chapter 324 The Battle Has Fully Erupted

Everyone had a past, some were worth remembering, some you'd rather forget.

Sam was no different.

Back in the day, Sam was a flight instructor, a pretty sweet gig that paid well. His biggest claim to fame? Becoming the youngest lecturer at his university.

But then, a woman came along and messed everything up.

Sam fell hard, and before he knew it, he was in way over his head. Her spending habits were out of control, and even with all his savings, he couldn't keep up. So, he ditched his job and jumped into the private flight instructor and pilot scene, hoping to make more cash.

Love didn't last forever, except for the lucky few.

Flying was risky business, and in his quest for more money, Sam had an accident while working overtime. He lost his pilot's license and, not surprisingly, the woman left him too.

There were no dramatic revenge plots like in the movies, and he didn't meet some amazing girl to save him. Sam just accepted it, though it left him a bit unhinged.

Then the apocalypse hit, and Sam got back to flying, no certificates needed this time.

For a while, it seemed like things were looking up. Evolution and his profession made life seem almost perfect again.

But his mind was slipping, and he started fooling around with different women.

Cody once said if Sam could just get his act together, he'd be a three-star Evolving person by now.

But Sam blew a ton of Magic Crystals on women and fake compliments.

Right now, though, Sam wasn't feeling any thrill; just the cold, like when he was flying high up.

On the ground, William, his Battle Pet, had just taken down the Thunder Beast!

That was The Sanctum Institute's latest big deal, a top-tier combat force they were selling to future clients, and now it was dead.

How many level-five beings were left in the world? In Accraville City? You could count them on one hand!

And now one was gone.

Sam could already picture the Director's rage when he got back.

What made it worse was that William, who owned a level-five Battle Pet, hadn't even joined the fight. He must be insanely strong. After this, William would definitely think less of The Sanctum Institute. Judging by his Battle Pet's injuries, they were probably going to be enemies.

Sam regretted ever mentioning The Sanctum Institute.

He put away his camera, knowing he had to take this footage back. Even if it wasn't a selling point, it was still valuable intel for the organization.

Sam pulled the control lever, and the plane started to turn around smoothly. He admitted William and his Battle Pet were powerful, but from up in the sky, they were no threat to him.

"You're strong, but next time, I'll bring a level-six beast. Just wait and see!" Sam thought it sounded tough.

After saying that, he glanced down and saw William, who was dismembering the Thunder Beast, suddenly running in one direction with his Battle Pet.

'Is he scared of me?' Sam chuckled to himself, knowing that was impossible.

"Goodbye!" Sam couldn't figure it out and planned to speed away, but then he felt something. He looked up quickly, his eyes widening in horror. The next second, a sky full of red flames swallowed him and his plane.

A massive explosion rocked Accraville City.

Stella nocked an arrow on her green longbow, ready for action.

This bow had cost her and her Star Beauty Company everything they had.

They'd given it all.

To gather the items William wanted for the trade, Star Beauty Company and other groups had been hustling non-stop, hunting from dawn till dusk, trading Magic Crystals for more goods.

In the end, they were deep in debt and had suffered hunting losses that might knock them out of the top five in Accraville City's next ranking. They traded three bottles of three-star Evolution Elixir, ten bottles of two-star Evolution Elixir, three hundred bottles of one-star Evolution Elixir, and a ton of mutated life materials for this green-grade weapon called 'Shuriken.'

Star Beauty Company only had three three-star Evolving persons!

In other words, if they hadn't made this trade, they could've used those items to become the strongest force in Accraville City!

But Stella thought it was worth it, and so did her team.

Because on the first day with this longbow, Stella shot and killed a level three Mutated Moth that was showing off in front of them.

And she did it with just a regular iron arrow.

She hadn't even used the Enchantment arrows she bought from the crafty William, priced at one two-star Magic Crystal per gray-grade arrow.

With this bow, they'd soon make back what they spent.

It also helped that Stella's Ethereal Archer profession was a perfect match with Shuriken.

Attacking Zero Commerce Guild to stop a Lord from finding William was part of the Shuriken trade deal.

But Stella genuinely wanted to fight them.

The moment the Accurately Exchange Roulette Wheel hit the ground, she decided to team up with Cloud Peak Manor. This battle would kick off their close partnership.

That guy William was a shrewd merchant. He measured everything in Magic Crystals. Stella knew the materials she sent him had been turned into gray-grade Enchantment arrows and sold back to her at the price of one two-star Magic Crystal per arrow.

But who cared? Stella could use those arrows to kill level three mutated life forms!

This was the benefit of cooperation, a win-win, not exploitation.

So today, she not only had to stop a Lord from attacking William, but she also had to take down Chloe.

Facing this lord, Stella's beautiful eyes showed some disdain.

In the apocalypse, survivors' status and ranks had been completely redefined.

So when Stella nocked the arrow, her killing intent was clear—she was going to take Chloe out.

"Interesting, no one's tried to kill me in months. You're the first," Chloe said, chuckling behind her cyan mask as she drew two short knives.

Then, her body started to blur in the sunlight, turning from a solid figure into a faint shadow.

"Your skills might work on others, but against me, you're out of luck." With that, Chloe's shadowy form floated straight towards Stella.

Stella released her fingers, and the arrow shot out, glowing with starlight, heading straight for Chloe.

And so, the battle of the three Lords began.
