Chapter 326 Yangos Is Back

"Did David send them away?" Candice whispered to Clarissa and Brian beside her, watching the distant enemies cautiously clear traps to advance.

"Yeah, he did. He went with Dunca and Nicholas to the Hungry Tiger Knights' territory, waiting for our main force to get back," Brian said, his face showing clear worry. He didn't seem too confident about the upcoming battle.

Most of Cloud Peak Manor's main force had already gone to Accraville City, leaving only a few behind, half of whom were newbies. Even though they'd all been injected with the one-star Evolution Elixir, their combat skills were still a big question mark.

Brian wasn't doubting William's decision. He knew Cloud Peak Manor needed to be the main force in Accraville City. Trust was a big deal in the apocalypse. Even though William had convinced two major forces to team up, their own strength still needed to be solid to avoid any issues.

Over there, it was about the future of Cloud Peak Manor.

Here at the base, William only suspected someone might attack. Everyone had been holding onto a sliver of hope, but now it seemed their suspicions were right. It really happened, and it was the powerful Accraville City prison that came.

All the high-ranking members left behind knew this battle would be tough.

If they couldn't handle this, they might mess up the current situation.

Brian frowned, not wanting to think about it. It was pointless. The base couldn't fail!

Glancing at Edna playing with a knife beside her, Clarissa hesitated before saying, "William wanted you to leave with David."

Edna laughed, "I'm not that weak. I've survived by fighting. I'm a combat scientist."

Candice smiled slightly. With a big battle coming, having such a companion was comforting.

"Leonard, you're not leaving either?" Edna patted Leonard on the shoulder. Leonard was one of the first to join after William's people took over Cloud Peak. He was a doctor and had helped remove the Deceptive Ghost Tree evolution fruit from Abigail and others.

During this time, with his excellent medical skills and solid foundation, he had become Edna's capable assistant. Edna didn't leave, but Leonard could. All technical personnel could leave first this time.

Leonard responded, "I'm afraid if I leave, you won't want me back. It's not easy to find a place where I can eat well, stay warm, and have beautiful women in sight."

Everyone laughed, lightening the tense atmosphere.

The survivors from Accraville City prison had already reached about 160 feet away. Although they had paid some price, it was insignificant.

"Fire as will! Then it's time for us to fight!" Candice pulled the trigger, and Cloud Peak Manor launched the attack first.

William was running frantically on the road with a pill in his arms.

Although he had considered things might go south, he hadn't found any trace of it, so he thought there wouldn't be any problems. He had calculated everything but didn't expect it to strike at such a moment.

Yangos had come!

Yangos, with the bright red Magic Crystal on its forehead, had come!

No matter how much William cursed it in his heart, it didn't change the fact that this dragon had become a level-six mutated life form!

In the days since it left, the already highly mature leavel-five Yangos had evolved; now it was back for revenge.

As soon as it showed up, it burst out of the clouds, taking out Sam and his plane with a single Dragon Breath. Then it flapped its wings and grinned at William, like it was saying, "Where's your Battle Pet?"

William felt a sharp pain in his head and crashed to the ground, the injured pill he was holding flying out of his grasp.

Blood trickled from his nose, and a mocking mental signal echoed in his mind.

Dragons were naturally strong in both mental and physical power. The level-six Yangos had hit the peak of mid-level evolution. Even though it couldn't speak human language like the specially evolved Witch and Red-haired Iron Corpse, its mental strength was top-notch. Now it could clearly convey its intentions to its target.

"Damn it!" William cursed, picking up the snarling Pill that wanted to fight the dragon in the sky and kept running.

Even if Pill wasn't injured, William would still choose to run. Dragons were a whole different beast. It was nearly impossible for mutated life forms to take them down solo, even for a level-five like William.

To take on the level-six Yangos, it would take Pill, the Witch, the Red-haired Iron Corpse, and William all together!

So, William didn't run towards his subordinates or the battlefield at Cloud Peak Manor. That would just bring disaster to them. He sprinted towards the heart of Accraville City, frantically communicating mentally with the Red-haired Iron Corpse left there, asking it to find the Witch and, if possible, contact the Mouse King. Only by teaming up could they hope to take on this dragon.

No one wanted a level-six dragon wreaking havoc in their territory.

A level-six dragon and a level-five dragon were worlds apart. If a level-six dragon was allowed to rampage, the high-level evolved beings in Accraville City would be picked off one by one, becoming its energy source to evolve to level seven.

William could easily guess that after being scared out of Accraville City, Yangos must have slaughtered nearby small towns, maybe more than one. It must had devoured countless lives to evolve within half a month.

Dragons were known for city massacres.

Even with Pill in his arms, William's speed was insane. The Bloodstride Boots boosted speed based on the wearer's attributes, meaning as William's strength increased, so did his speed.

But he was still no match for a flying dragon. Among flying species, dragons were some of the fastest.

The distance between them quickly shrank from a few miles to just over a thousand feet.

"Stop, and I will grant you an honorable death," Yangos roared.

William flipped him the bird.

Arrogance was another annoying trait of dragons.

A wave of heat surged from behind him. William instantly activated Sprint, his speed skyrocketing, dodging the Dragon Breath and gaining some distance in three seconds.

But it was only three seconds.

Yangos quickly closed in to 650 feet behind William. At this distance, not only Dragon Breath but also some Dragon skills were within range.

With that, the rapidly gliding Yangos swung its short but thick right forepaw, and after a few strange syllables, a huge fire meteor came roaring down. Its 50-foot diameter and lightning speed left William no room to dodge.

William suddenly stopped, threw Pill far away, and turned around, his eyes already bloodshot.
