Chapter 74 The Suddenly Emerging Force

It was undeniable that at the moment William caught the Monster Baby, he experienced the greatest emotional struggle since his rebirth.

He knew that what he held was a huge treasure.

The Monster Baby seemed like a bug in the apocalypse, but only those who had experienced it firsthand knew how much they had to pay to get the treasures from this creature.

In his previous life, William participated in the hunt for the Monster Baby. Each time, there was a massive battle between various forces—organizations against organizations, squads against squads, zombies against humans, monsters against mutated beings...

Every life that was actively or passively drawn into the battlefield at that moment would be caught in a life-and-death struggle.

It was a brutal battle with a death rate of over sixty percent!

Yes, every Monster Baby battle could be called a meat grinder battle.

Using some very tempting rewards attracted countless beings to a hopeless slaughter.

Sometimes, William wondered, 'Is the Monster Baby really a bug-like existence? Or is it the root cause of the war? Perhaps only the final winner will find the Monster Baby adorable. Will I be the winner today?'

This was a thought that flashed through William's mind from time to time after he set today's treasure-hunting plan. It wasn't until he caught the Monster Baby that he might really become the winner today.

However, this feeling lasted only for a second before it was replaced by a sense of crisis that made William's hair stand on end!

When he tried his best to move his body to the side, he saw a flash of light in front of him, and his hand suddenly felt light.

The Monster Baby fell to the ground, its body suddenly struggling and letting out a miserable howl.

When William staggered to the side due to the Monster Baby's struggle, cold sweat broke out on his forehead.

He saw that one of the Monster Baby's arms had been neatly cut off, with a smooth wound from which a large amount of blood was flowing. This was exactly where William had just grabbed.

In other words, if he hadn't dodged, it wouldn't be the Monster Baby's arm that was cut off, but his!

What was that sharp light that seemed to fly out of the void?

"If you get out of here quickly, I can still let you go!" A thick, hoarse male voice came from one side, attracting William's attention.

He saw three people rapidly approaching from one direction, led by a bear-like burly man. He was only wearing a tight black vest, military green cargo pants, and a pair of black combat boots that made loud noises on the ground.

Behind him stood a man and a woman. The man was about the same age as the burly leader, around twenty-seven or twenty-eight. He was holding a spear, the tip pointing diagonally to the ground, his eyes were fixed on William.

On the other side was a woman in biker gear, not very old, with long hair dyed red that swayed with the wind as she moved. She had an excellent figure under her tight clothes, but her face was full of killing intent, her right hand slightly raised, shining brightly! The energy fluctuation was very similar to the sharp light just now!

William's heart sank. He smelled the scent of revolutionaries from these three people, and the young man with the spear was obviously a professional, while the woman had a terrifying attack skill!

The burly man clearly led the three. Even the underlings were professionals, one with an attack skill, so how could the leader be weak?

Moreover, these three were ruthless and clearly well-adapted to the apocalypse.

How did such a strange force suddenly appear?

William saw the three rapidly approaching and didn't take their warning to heart. He reached out to grab the golden bag.

But how could these three let William succeed in getting the golden bag? As the woman waved her right hand, the light flew again, extremely fast, reaching William in an instant, forcing him to withdraw his hand.

With this delay, the three arrived nearby. The professional spearman shouted, leaping into the air, his spear turning into a silver snake, stabbing straight at William with an unstoppable momentum that made people feel fear.

The burly man was in front of William, while the spearman's powerful strike was in the air, and the woman gathered strength in her right hand for another attack, forcing William to retreat.

If William's right arm were intact, he might still be able to cope. But now, he only had one arm to use, severely weakening his strength. Facing three fellow evolvers, he had no choice but to retreat.

But William made a move before retreating.

He kicked the Monster Baby away before retreating!

The little monster was short, light in weight, with no arm. Under William's full-force kick, it flew far away.

The three were stunned, clearly not expecting William to take such a risk.

But when their eyes followed the Monster Baby, they immediately understood.

Over there, a group of people in military uniforms was rapidly approaching, with a leading soldier already stepping into the square!

"Thomas, that's the monster. Grab the bag on its back!" Scott and the others, who were suppressed by William, found three more people on the battlefield. The fight's target was flying towards Thomas. They couldn't hold back and shouted anxiously.

"Fuck!" The burly leader cursed at William, who responded with a sly smile.

Their purpose here was clearly to seize the treasure, not to kill William. Although the burly man was furious at William's kick, he couldn't afford to care.

He could only lead his two subordinates to run toward the Monster Baby.

If they were slow, the Monster Baby would be snatched away.

Scott raised his gun, wanting to stop the three. But his eyes suddenly turned, scanning the lakeside square. He immediately ordered his men to lower their weapons, clearly having some bad idea.

Thomas's left shoulder was bleeding. Since he didn't know where the real treasure was when he arrived, they instinctively chose the most conspicuous Chain Prisoner. But just a moment ago, his elite team lost two evolvers.

Their squad was a special operations team formed by Owen specifically for this mission. They were responsible for the final strike in the treasure hunt! Owen paid a lot for this, even concentrating all the evolution potions the group had desperately obtained to this team.

When the Corpse Ape appeared, they thought the treasure was on this monster, but the Chain Prisoner made them shift their target.

When they got Scott's report, they realized the real treasure was in a bag on a little monster's back!

So, they gave up attacking the overwhelmingly powerful prisoner and came here. As a result, there were only four people left in the team, which originally consisted of eight. Four One-Star Evolver! Thomas felt heartache just thinking about it.

Because of a special card, Thomas evolved from an ordinary person to a Two-Star Evolver in one day. He thought no one could match him now, but reality shattered his pride. He felt foolish for fighting the strongest monster while others already knew the treasure's location and came to seize it.

Fortunately, he wasn't too late!

With a roar, Thomas accelerated his body, directly bypassed the easily reachable Monster Baby, and crashed into the trio of the burly man, spearman, and woman. He believed his comrades following behind would secure the treasure. He only needed to create an opportunity for them.
