Chapter 167 Mind Parasite Entity
Osmium was the densest pure metal. Each cubic decimeter weighed up to 22.59 kilograms!
A few days ago, David stumbled upon a chunk of osmium at a bearing factory. It was over fifty cubic decimeters in volume, so William stashed it in his space crystal. That much osmium meant the block weighed a ton!
This stuff was perfect for the basic Coagulation and Arousal spell. William hadn't used it until today when he took down a level-three Hundred-Handed Zombie with it.
No matter how tough that zombie was, a ton of metal crushing it was too much. Plus, the spell made it even stronger. William used a lot of mental energy, but it was worth it.
The osmium-transformed into a Metal Man which had a durability of 300 and lasted five minutes, giving William the chance to kill the zombie in seconds.
The Hundred-Handed Zombie's head rolled away, and the level-two creatures and Mind Parasite didn't even know what hit them.
A ghostly shadow with red hair appeared from behind a tree. The Iron Corpse silently snuck up on the Mind Parasite and attacked just as the zombie died.
The Mind Parasite wasn't strong on its own; its power was in controlling mutated creatures. The red-haired Iron Corpse waited for the perfect moment to strike.
The Mind Parasite had set a trap with a level-three creature and a bunch of level-two ones. It thought it had everything covered, but it didn't expect William to kill the zombie so fast!
The Iron Corpse's sharp hand pierced Owen's neck and twisted it, tearing his head off.
"Throw it away!" William shouted, giving the Iron Corpse a mental command.
The Mind Parasite could parasitize almost any creature, even if only for a short time. William didn't know if it could take over the Iron Corpse, but he didn't want to risk it. The Iron Corpse cost a lot of level-two Magic Crystals.
The Iron Corpse obediently tossed Owen's head away. It rolled until it hit a tree. From the broken neck, thin white tentacles extended, and a small, white, umbrella-shaped head slid out, looking like a tiny white octopus.
But this cute-looking Mind Parasite let out a piercing scream. William and even Pill felt intense pain in their heads, and their vision blurred.
The mutated creatures were also hit hard, stumbling around like they were drunk.
Luckily, the scream only lasted a few seconds. Once it stopped, the Mind Parasite bolted, covering over ten meters in a flash.
Meanwhile, the level-two mutated creatures' eyes turned blood-red, and they charged at William, roaring.
The scream had driven them all into a frenzy!
Meanwhile, the humans in the abandoned neighborhood were holed up in a single building, with only about three hundred left. The rest had become zombie chow.
They had killed a lot of zombies and mutated creatures, but the endless waves were too much.
Michelle, Candice, Jack, and the others were exhausted, covered in blood and grime. They couldn't hold out much longer. If things didn't change, they'd have to run.
But then, they heard something. The zombie horde and high-level mutated creatures attacking them suddenly paused, then turned and rushed back the way they came, like something was urgently calling them. They even ignored the humans right next to them.
The survivors were stunned, panting and looking at each other, clueless about what had just happened.
"It must be William," Donovan said, shirtless and showing off his fat body with several deep wounds. If it weren't for the immunity potion William had given him, he might've already turned into a zombie.
With this strange occurrence, Donovan was sure it was William's doing.
Only he could make the zombie horde retreat!
Natalie urged, "Then what are we waiting for? Let's follow and kill them! The more we kill, the less pressure on William!"
Natalie, already in bad shape, injured and exhausted from the prolonged battle, could barely lift her whip. But she knew it must be William who caused this, and the enemies were heading towards him. She had to help!
Natalie charged out without hesitation, whipping off a zombie's skull.
"Exactly, who would give up such a good opportunity!" others echoed.
The team followed Natalie's lead, and the other survivors, after a moment's hesitation, also began to charge!
While the neighborhood companions were being rescued, William also began his pursuit.
The Mind Parasite had shown its true form; he couldn't let it escape.
So, a strange scene unfolded in the forest.
The white Mind Parasite fled quickly in front, with William chasing behind, and a dozen level-two mutated creatures desperately pursuing William.
As for William's few helpers, the treefolk were too slow, still moving on the side, their effect negligible. The Metal Man, though heavy, was fast enough to block the Twin Power Demon, and the two were fighting fiercely.
Pill and the red-haired Iron Corpse were fast, attacking the level-two mutated creatures nearby as they ran, trying to slow them down.
The Mind Parasite ran quickly but clearly lacked stamina, slowing down after a while. William got closer and closer. When he was only about sixty-five feet away, the Mind Parasite suddenly stopped, turned, and roared at William, its thin tentacles pointing at him as if cursing.
Behind the Mind Parasite was the edge of the forest, where an artificial river lay.
William smiled.
This pampered Mind Parasite couldn't swim.
