Chapter 309 You Can Leave If You Want, But Leave Your Stuff Behind (Part 2)
Seeing William, the Mouse King bared its sharp fangs.
It definitely hadn't forgotten him—the guy who'd messed with it multiple times and was still kicking.
Stepping out from behind its minions, the Mouse King glared at William, ready to give the attack order.
'This idiot human, standing alone in front of me and my army of a million mutated animals, is asking for it! Fine, I'll give you what you want!' the Mouse King thought.
The Mouse King licked its lips, thinking that by eating William, it could hit level five without needing to fight for the Blood of Evolution.
But then, its eyes widened.
The Mouse King saw William calmly draw a green-tier longbow and a white-tier arrow!
Its previously upright body immediately hunched a bit.
The Mouse King wanted to curse.
The crossbow tower from earlier had made its fur stand on end, and now this longbow was giving it the same unsettling feeling!
'These damn humans, why do they have so many tricks?' the Mouse King cursed inside.
Then before the Mouse King could think of a way to respond, it watched in shock as William slung the bow over his back.
The Mouse King felt puzzled, not getting what he was up to.
But it soon found out, as a purple gun was pointed at it.
The Mouse King immediately ducked, hurriedly pulling a few minions in front of it to shield its fat body.
There was a purple weapon instead of white and green-tier weapons!
The Mouse King could feel with its long tail that this tier of weapon could be deadly, even if it were level five or six!
This level of gear shouldn't even exist right now.
The Mouse King glanced through the gaps between his subordinates' bodies, confirming once again that this item was genuine and could indeed be activated, as it was already starting to glow!
William wore a faint smile, and suddenly, a light shone beneath his feet.
Following the light, the Mouse King saw a pair of gold-tier boots.
The Mouse King didn't recognize the Bloodstride Boots, but it realized they were speed-enhancing shoes. Thinking back to how it couldn't catch him before, it knew it was the shoes' ability.
If that was the case, with William having absolute speed and a purple weapon, the Mouse King would be toast.
The Mouse King shivered, its fur standing on end.
It was stunned with horror!
The Mouse King felt it was too unlucky. Since arriving here, it had been suppressed by the Dragon, always cautious. Then, when the Dragon left, it was suppressed by William, who spun the wheel. Today, it was suppressed by that tall crossbow tower, fearing it would be shot dead. Now, it was suppressed by William's fancy gear, not daring to show its head.
This wasn't the life the Mouse King should be living; how was this different from its days of stealing food!
"Get lost, I won't kill you." William's cold voice reached the Mouse King's ears, making it want to agree immediately.
It rolled its small eyes, feeling something was off, but before it could think further, it heard a faint sound.
The Mouse King immediately understood what was happening.
At this moment, William had fired!
Several of the Mouse King's minions suddenly turned into charred black coal, with small sparks flying towards it!
The Mouse King didn't waste a second and bolted, stopping only after running about 33 feet. Looking back, it saw that William's shot had taken out at least a dozen of its strongest minions.
What kind of power was this?
Those dozen minions were the Mouse King's best, all level three!
The mutated mouse that had consumed the Blood of Evolution and luckily became a peer of the Mouse King screamed in fear and ran to the Mouse King's side. Only with two level-four mutated mice standing together did they muster some courage to face the purple weapon.
William leisurely took three steps forward, then coldly glanced at the Mouse King again, "Scram."
The Mouse King immediately took its minions and fled.
William secretly breathed a sigh of relief. This Mouse King was indeed timid, but it was also too smart, overthinking everything, leading to suspicion. Humans were like this, and so were mutated beings.
In fact, William didn't have many Magic Crystals left. If the Mouse King had dodged the initial attack, it would have been nearly impossible for William to kill it.
His bloodline ability had also been used, greatly reducing the threat to the Mouse King.
And even if William killed the Mouse King, how would he face the army of a million mutated animals? If a real fight broke out, mutual destruction was certain.
However, the Mouse King got scared as the king of the mutated camp.
Sometimes, when looking at mutated beings, you could place them on an equal footing and observe them like humans. You would find that many things could be solved using human methods.
William, having been reborn, understood this principle. Otherwise, no one else would stand alone in front of the mutated camp and tell the Mouse King to scram, because everyone would think it was impossible. But the fact was just that.
You couldn't just see how easy it seems to resolve things without seeing the vision and courage required for that 'ease.'
"You're... very impressive." The witch had somehow appeared beside William, having found a basis for cooperation.
The witch continued, "Those people... I can... not let go. you... give me... blood."
William smiled. Communicating with such intelligent beings was indeed easier.
"One drop." William said.
"No... way. Red, she's injured, you... have no helper, I need... five drops, that's enough."
William said, "No, at most two drops, or I'll let the Red-haired Iron Corpse out and have it tail and hunt these humans. You know I can make the Red-haired Iron Corpse reach level five instantly."
The witch fell silent, knowing William was telling the truth, and he also had the Blood of Evolution.
The witch said, "Three drops, and we are... friends."
William was genuinely surprised; this witch actually understood the concept of friendship.
"Friends... alright, friendes are indeed worth one drop of the Blood of Evolution." William nodded, "Okay, three drops, and we are friends."
A human and a zombie, under the Accurately Exchange Roulette Wheel, shook hands as a sign of friendship.
