Chapter 325 Shadow Enchantress VS Rhythm Warrior
"You've hit three-star Evolving, huh? Got some guts now," Brody sighed, "I can smell that fresh promotion on you. Your leader must really like you, throwing all those resources your way. You two sleeping together?" Brody suddenly switched gears and laughed, "But with your looks, I doubt William's interested. In this apocalypse, everything's scarce except pretty women."
The place was eerily empty. No sign of the usual zombies or mutated creatures, like they knew a fight was about to go down.
Brody's hands were moving slightly, like he was getting ready.
"If you weren't sleeping together, why are you so loyal to him? Next time, the Evolution Elixir or other goodies might go to those women. Won't you be jealous?" Brody's feet tapped the ground in a rhythmic pattern as he spoke.
"You're scared," Gemma blurted out, her head slightly lowered. She was bald now, her scalp as scarred as her face, looking just as terrifying in the shadows.
"Otherwise, why would you say all this to provoke me?" Gemma was talking more than usual today, maybe because of the beating she took from Brody last time.
"Let me set you straight, he's not my lover. William's someone I'd die for. He pulled me out of hell. You wouldn't get it, but I do." Gemma's head shot up, thick veins bulging on her face, moving under her skin. Her curvy body shrank a bit, looking super weird.
Then her skin turned purplish-red. Her bald head sprouted long purple hair that grew until it hit the ground, matching her height.
Her closed eyes snapped open, revealing not human pupils but nebula-like vortices, like two storms raging inside them.
In the building's shadow, Gemma started to disappear.
Brody's calm demeanor vanished. Even though his face wasn't clear, you could imagine the shock.
"Bloodline?" Brody exclaimed, "William actually gave you a bloodline!"
Zero Commerce Guild, using Reflective Shadow, had pretty much figured out what William got from the Accurately Exchange Roulette Wheel this time. They knew he got two Bloodline Crystals.
William would use one for himself, which he had already shown in battles. But the other one, the big shots at Zero Commerce Guild thought, would go to a core member of Cloud Peak Manor, probably Michelle or Candice. Cecil and Natalie had a shot too.
But they never thought of Gemma. This ugly woman, apart from having an evolution level like the other core members, had no other perks. Compared to the others, she did less and naturally offered less help to William.
Normally, she wouldn't get something as precious as a bloodline.
But William gave the last Bloodline Crystal to Gemma.
He also gave her one of the three-star Evolution Elixirs and a Career Scroll.
William valued Gemma's loyalty.

She didn't charge directly but started moving through the shadows of the buildings. As she moved, she truly disappeared, at least from Brody's sight.
With this eerie situation, Brody took two steps to the right, moving closer to the center where the sunlight shone.
The next second, Gemma's figure emerged from his rear side, throwing a punch at the back of Brody's head.
Brody's body suddenly leaned forward, rolling on the spot, and his heels kicked Gemma's fist perfectly!
Gemma retreated, and Brody resumed his previous stance.
He turned around, laughing heartily, "I've found your weakness!" Brody looked at Gemma, who had disappeared into the shadows again, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "If it were nighttime, I must admit, you'd be almost invincible. Your bloodline's ability is too powerful, making it impossible to guard against. Under a sneak attack, I can't guarantee I'd dodge every time."
Brody continued, "But it's daytime now. As long as there's direct sunlight, you have nowhere to hide. Once you leave the shadows, you'll be exposed! Your bloodline ability is useless. How will you deal with me then?"
Gemma, who was once a toy he could manipulate, now had the qualifications to challenge him. This disparity made Brody uncomfortable, leading to his change in attitude today.
Gemma reappeared, this time from another direction, still behind Brody's line of sight.
Brody quickly turned and threw a punch.
