Chapter 321 Pawn to Pawn
Quincy's eyes lit up, and for some reason, his heart started racing for this beaten-down opponent.
Chester stood there like an unmovable mountain.
"Chester!" Quincy muttered, his body tensing up.
"Bet you didn't expect I'd still be kicking, huh?" Chester said, wearing just a white shirt. He started unbuttoning it, showing off his chest.
The three Lords' eyes went wide.
On Chester's chest was a massive scar.
It wasn't your usual scar or a bullet wound; it was a whole patch of scar tissue!
A scar that covered his entire chest!
If you ignored Chester's head and limbs, his chest looked like a piece of charred meat!
"Pretty freaky, right?" Chester touched his chest and looked at Quincy, saying, "Back then, I thought I was a goner. Even with the body of a three-star Evolving person, those injuries should've been fatal."
"Your Soul Nurturer skills are no joke. One White Bone Thorn move, and I was toast. Didn't even make you use your big move, Soultransmute." Chester talked like it was no big deal. As he spoke, his exposed skin started to glow faintly gold, and the scars seemed to turn into little golden snakes.
"I gotta thank you for giving me a second chance, freeing me from being the top dog in Accraville City, and making me even stronger." Chester's whole vibe was getting intense. His once-handsome face turned golden, making him look like a giant Golden Man.
"Today, it's just you and me. Let's see if you can take down the new and improved me!" Chester's words were almost a roar. "Take me out, and you can deal with William."
Quincy took a deep breath, and a dozen wolf heads made of black mist slowly appeared around him. He didn't know how Chester had survived, but he knew things were getting out of hand.
"A three-star Evolving person acting all high and mighty? You really underestimate us Lords." Chloe sighed, clasping her slender hands together. She didn't mind stepping in to help Quincy take down this ungrateful guy.
"Fighting without gear is dumb." Finnegan, with a cold look, started walking towards Chester. He didn't want anyone messing up their plans.
"Group fighting is so tacky. I'll take you on!" A seductive voice came from a nearby corner, and a beautiful woman in camouflage gear stepped out.
"This was supposed to be Cloud Peak Manor's problem, but now we have to bother Mr. White. It's really a shame." Michelle looked around at the people from Zero Commerce Guild with her big, watery eyes and continued, "Someone as strong as Mr. White got messed up by you guys. I was scared back then. I thought if I ever got the chance, I had to see what these Lords of Zero Commerce Guild, who even William feared, looked like. Now that I've seen you, I'm kinda disappointed."
Finnegan stopped dead in his tracks, sensing Michelle's powerful aura.
"Your looks are not even close to our level," Michelle sneered, flashing a menacing grin and raising the Edge of the Moon. "Accraville City's been too lively. Time for us from Cloud Peak Manor to step in!"
As she spoke, a group of cold-faced warriors appeared behind her. Familiar faces like Natalie, Lucy, Jack, Darryl, Cecil, and Tom stood ready.
After fighting solo in Accraville City for so long, William had finally rallied his crew to face the nightmare from his past life—the Zero Commerce Guild!
"King to king, except for your president, none of you are worthy to bother our leader," Jack said, licking his lips, clearly pumped for the fight.
The Zero Commerce Guild members went silent for a moment before Chloe burst out laughing, "You almost scared me. Bring it on, let's see if you have the guts to challenge us!"
Quincy and Finnegan's lips twitched. They almost forgot Chloe's rep among the Nine Lords. When Chloe went nuts, even the president had to tread carefully.
"Alright, but since you're a woman, let's fight," said a woman in a beige trench coat standing on a half-collapsed building, her clothes fluttering in the wind.
What caught everyone's attention, besides her natural air of loneliness, was the green-level longbow on her back.
Quincy's eyes narrowed. He recognized that bow; it had to be William's!
At this point, if Quincy didn't realize that William had seen through his plans, he'd be a fool. William had already found a way to counter them, roping in the top two forces of Accraville City with benefits, and with the power of his own Cloud Peak Manor, he had launched a strong counterattack.
The warriors of Mercy Vanguard warband and Star Beauty Company appeared behind the Zero Commerce Guild, joining forces with Cloud Peak Manor to encircle the three Lords and their troops.
Brody stopped, his hoodie casting his face into shadow. He slowly turned to face his rear.
A woman with a half-ugly face squatted in the corner, looking at him coldly like a viper.
"Looks like Quincy’s moves have been totally predicted this time," Brody chuckled, looking at the ugly woman he had once sent to the Lowe Family. His hidden gaze was still full of admiration, even more so than before.
"Just you?" Brody turned slightly, disbelief in his tone. "You don't think you can take me down alone, do you? Are you too confident, or am I missing something, or is there an ambush I haven't spotted?"
"Just me." Gemma stood up but stayed in the shadows. She wasn't used to sunlight anymore.
"We could ambush you, but I didn't allow it," Gemma said, touching her hand and then her face. Her eyes showed a complex expression, quickly replaced by determination. "Because I said, your hand, I will feed it to the dogs!"
