Chapter 342 Kill Demon Frog

The blazing inferno that took down the Lowe Family wasn't the end for William; it was just a handy way to get some revenge.

Before he left, he wanted everyone in Accraville City to know that messing with Cloud Peak Manor meant certain death!

That was the kind of message William wanted to send.

He left, but the fear he instilled stayed behind, which was exactly what he wanted.

William had taken out some of the forces in Accraville City, but not all of them, and he knew he couldn't get them all. Still, the news traveled fast in the city, and soon everyone would know what went down. Those who had crossed Cloud Peak Manor would be shaking in their boots. If they fled Accraville City out of fear, great. If they stayed, living in constant fear was fine too.

Arthur had escaped, which was a bummer, but William knew that at least for now, the prisoners from Accraville City Prison wouldn't be coming back. That threat could be ignored for the time being.

The Lowe Family was wiped out, so that was one less thing to worry about.

There was still another group to deal with, but first, he had somewhere else to be.

Thirty hours after the Lowe Family's downfall, William showed up in Rivercrest Deadland.

His target? Those ice and water crystals.

Compared to his last visit, Rivercrest Deadland had changed a lot, becoming even more hostile.

Well, hostile to humans, anyway. For the beasts in the Land of Death, it had become more comfortable, perfect for their evolution and growth.

When William entered the Land of Death, he didn't sneak around. Instead, he drove straight towards Crystal Range.

The Land of Death was beast territory, and the scent of a human was like a beacon, detectable by beasts within a certain range. The battles started almost as soon as William entered.

William could have used other methods, like masking his scent with that of other beasts, as he had done before.

But he didn't, for two reasons: first, time was short. After getting the Natural crystals in the Land of Death, he had another important task to complete. Second, he wanted to test his sustained combat ability, especially in dangerous situations where he was alone without any support, to ascertain his limits.

Once he entered the Secret Realm, William knew he'd face such situations, and he wanted to be ready.

This kind of test was definitely a bit masochistic. Only because William had near-level-five evolutionary strength, the Essence Stone of wellspring of endurance, the Bloodstride Boots, and the recovery ability of Energy Absorbing Satan, could he keep fighting non-stop. When he encountered a few beasts, he'd kill them; when he faced a lot, he'd run. He fought tirelessly for two whole days.

By the time William finally reached Crystal Range, he looked like a beggar.

Covered in blood and grime, his face was unrecognizable, but William's eyes shone brighter than ever.

A whole new combat method, or rather, a combat style, was forming in William's mind. New ideas kept popping up, and he kept incorporating them, organizing and summarizing until he mastered and could use them flexibly. These two days had slightly boosted his confidence in surviving the Secret Realm.

As William saw Crystal Range, he also spotted the Three-Tailed Demon Frog.

Compared to last time, the Magic Crystal on its forehead had changed from green, which meant level four, to blue, which meant level five.

The Three-Tailed Demon Frog had leveled up.

William noticed right away that it wasn't just at level five; it was quickly heading towards level six, with red streaks showing up in its Magic Crystal, kind of like Pill.

Then, William charged straight at it.

The Three-Tailed Demon Frog was caught off guard. Ever since William had tricked it last time, leading to a messy fight with another beast of the same level, forcing it to use its ultimate move and getting pretty banged up, it had been living the good life. Sure, some beasts tried to take over Crystal Range now and then, but it had always managed to chase them off. No one had dared to challenge it directly.

But today, seeing William charging at it with a knife, the Three-Tailed Demon Frog's vertical pupils widened. It took a good look at the approaching human and then quickly sniffed the air. It immediately got furious.

Wasn't this the same guy who had tricked it last time? He was back for more?

The Three-Tailed Demon Frog didn't hesitate and charged right back at him, thinking, 'Pathetic human, even though you're stronger this time, I've also gotten stronger. You're destined to be my lunch.'

It was worth noting that, in some ways, beasts thought a lot like humans. When they were strong, they were cocky and acted like they were invincible. When they were weak, they groveled and submitted.

What greeted the Three-Tailed Demon Frog was a massive firebird.

Flame Bird Soar!

This was a fire-elemental crystal attack skill activated through the Staff of Nature.

The Three-Tailed Demon Frog was a water-elemental beast, naturally weak against fire, and fire-elemental skills would hurt it the most.

As soon as the firebird appeared, the Three-Tailed Demon Frog was startled. This was an instinctive reaction to an opposing element. As its body paused, a pressure fell upon it. Its expression changed, and it opened its mouth, activating its innate skill Hailstorm Impact. Hundreds of ice balls fell from the sky, trying to suppress the firebird.

But within that mass of flames, a fierce Knife Light emerged, forcing the Three-Tailed Demon Frog to leap to the side.

From a bird's-eye view of the sudden battle, it was clear that all of William's attacks were slightly skewed to one side. Whether it was Flame Bird Soar, SealMountain Knife, or Flame Blade, the focus of the attacks was on the left half of the Three-Tailed Demon Frog's body.

In the heat of battle, the targeted creature wouldn't notice such slight deviations. For a beast the size of a bus, a slight skew in the attack wouldn't matter. Even an observer might think that William's excitement caused a minor deviation in his skill execution.

This was nothing significant. Accurately hitting the enemy with skills during a fight was already a perfect attack.

But in fact, William did it on purpose.

Faced with such attacks, the Three-Tailed Demon Frog instinctively dodged to the side.

This reaction was purely instinctive. Not only would the Three-Tailed Demon Frog react this way, but any mutant creature, or even a human, would do the same. After all, dodging was always safer than a direct collision with a powerful skill.

But as soon as the Three-Tailed Demon Frog leaped to the side, avoiding the fire skill, it saw a figure standing there, holding a purple weapon.

Its half-face was blown off.
