Chapter 97 Trading News for Life

Lucy had another skill called 'Air Shield.'

After casting, a diamond-shaped air shield appears around the target, providing a strong defense. This defense is automatic. The Air Shield will automatically detect attacks and move to block them.

This was an ideal defensive skill, as it didn't require the target to manage it, allowing them to focus on other tasks like attacking. The defense power increased with the level of the Light Apostle's career.

William was eager to see what kind of attack power would be needed to break this skill's defense when Lucy advanced to the Light Goddess.

This powerful profession was something every team would want to have!

Among the things William had gained since his rebirth, only Devil's Gold and the Glory Craftsman profession could compare to this.

While Lucy was overjoyed, William continued to spin the wheel.

Since the last spin yielded a very powerful skill, this spin was particularly attention-grabbing, especially for Natalie and Candice. If there was a suitable skill, they were undoubtedly the most qualified to have it, making them a bit nervous.

William put all the remaining Level 1 magic crystals into the wheel, followed by the four Second-Level Magic Crystals he had obtained earlier.

Seeing these four white Second-Level Magic Crystals, Ulysses felt his heart sink.

William, who seemed almost unreal, had managed to kill four second-level mutant creatures in a short time!

Ulysses clearly remembered the time when, as newly evolved beings with two professions, they were chased by a Second-Level Zombie. That painful memory still haunted him.

But William had already grown strong enough to hunt Second-Level Creatures alone.

With some other thoughts in mind, Ulysses decided at that moment.

After all the Second-Level Magic Crystal was put in, the roulette finally started to spin, its faint sound tugging at everyone's heartstrings.

The pointer unsurprisingly stopped in the yellow area, and William took out the second career certificate from the reward box.

"Wind Dancer!" William announced as he shook his head with a smile and tossed the career badge and contract parchment directly to Natalie.

Natalie clumsily caught it and, under the envious gazes of Candice and Jack, opened the Sheepskin scroll to read the instructions. The more she read, the more excited she became, occasionally glancing at William with eyes full of admiration.

Wind Dancers were professionals who used ribbon-like weapons, such as whips, long ribbons, and cloth ropes. This career was gender-restricted, only available to female evolvers, and required a dance background to perform the related moves when casting skills.

Between Candice and Natalie, only the latter had a dance background. She was also using a whip made from a mutated willow branch given to her by William, making her the most suitable candidate for this career.

Having understood this career, Candice knew it wasn't suitable for her. She congratulated Natalie, earning a lot of goodwill from her. Natalie's tone towards Candice became much sweeter.

The first skill of the Apprentice Wind Dancer is 'Quadrant Dance Spin,' a group skill that allows the user to leap into the air and launch indiscriminate attacks around them. This skill, combined with her whip made from mutated willow, greatly enhanced Natalie's attack power.

With two new main career holders on the team, everyone's mood was lifted. The team's strength was evidently beneficial for both their safety and future growth.

For instance, if they had these two career-holders earlier, there would have been no need to make bombs to blow up zombies. William and Natalie could have held the front, Lucy could have provided support from the back, and the others could have filled in the gaps, making the process much more efficient.

"Mr. Wright, keep going," Jack, who had been itching to see more, urged William.

Although the last career on the roulette wasn't for him, just watching the magical Career Scrolls appear was thrilling enough. He squatted by the wheel, urging William to continue.

William glanced at the only remaining black area and said, "We're out of magic crystals. If we want to spin again, we might have to delay for a day or more. We should give up."

"Give up?" Jack said, dejectedly.

Jack was stunned. He looked at the roulette and then at William. His disappointment was evident. But he quickly thought of something, glanced at Michelle, and said no more.

The others had similar thoughts. Initially, they didn't understand why they should give up such a rare opportunity, but considering Michelle was waiting to reunite with her husband, they said nothing.

This made Michelle feel particularly embarrassed. She wanted to tell everyone not to give up such a good opportunity because of her, but thinking of her husband waiting for her, she said nothing.

William told everyone to start packing up to leave and walked over to the trio.

"Wait, don't kill us!" Ulysses, who had already made up his mind, quickly spoke up when he saw William approaching.

"Let us go, and I'll tell you something," Ulysses spoke quickly, fearing William wouldn't believe him.

He added, "I swear on my parents' honor that what I'm saying is true and useful to you."

William said nothing, just looked at them coldly.

"Aren't you a blade user? I know someone who has a similar career certificate!" Ulysses said.

This made William react.

Before spinning the roulette, he had hoped to get the Swordsman and Archer Career, as he was very familiar with them from his previous life. If he could learn them, it would be much easier than starting from scratch with other careers.

However, the results were somewhat disappointing. Although the two professions he got were strong, neither was usable by William.

Now, hearing this news, William showed a hint of desire.

Having sensed this, Ulysses relaxed a bit and said, "You guys are very strong now. The three of us are no match for you. We can't threaten you anymore. Trading our lives for a chance to make you stronger is worth it."

William thought for a moment and said, "Let them go."

Jack and Natalie immediately went over to dismantle the traps in front of the trio and untied their ropes.

"Can you guarantee you won't harm us after I tell you?" Ulysses asked as he rubbed his wrists, which were bruised from the ropes.

"Speak," William said impatiently.

Ulysses gritted his teeth, deciding to take a gamble. William and his group didn't seem completely ruthless, so he dared to take this risk.

"Two blocks from here, there's a small store called Happy Supermarket. A group of six or seven people is gathered there. They somehow got a career certificate but couldn't decide who should have it, so they announced they would trade it for evolution potions or other useful items. You can go find them and figure out the trade."

"This just happened yesterday, so they probably haven't traded it yet. It would help if you still had time," Ulysses added.
