Chapter 294 Cursing Dragon
"Did he just threaten... a Level 5 mutated lifeform?" The Major Power Alliance members were floored. This guy's mindset was on a whole different level.
When faced with a Level 5 Dragon, a Level 4 Mouse King, or a Level 4 Zombie King, most people would run for the hills. Even the top dogs in Accraville City had been through endless meetings to come up with a plan that could be hashed out in five minutes.
But not William. He led a thousand folks straight into the heart of the three big monster factions' camp without a second thought. He didn't just mess with these mutated creatures; he went as far as to threaten them.
This guy was either a genius or completely nuts.
Most people leaned towards the latter. No sane person would pull a stunt like that.
"He said he has to spin it one more time." Someone who could read lips put down their binoculars and shared what they saw. This only made everyone more convinced that William was off his rocker. Who else would threaten a bunch of Level 5 and Level 4 mutated lifeforms and then want to spin the wheel again?
One drop of The Blood of Evolution had already put him in a tight spot. Did he really want another drop? It was like he had a death wish.
"Just watch, he'll be toast in a minute," Lawrence sighed, but there was a weird sense of relief in his eyes.
A guy like him walking out alive with that item would be way more trouble than him dying under the wheel.
"He won't go down that easy; he's got to have a backup plan!" Stella shook her head, disagreeing with Lawrence. She figured someone who could make such perfect plans wouldn't bite the dust so easily.
Arthur, meanwhile, was munching on some roasted meat, squinting into the distance, deep in thought.
William spun the wheel without a second thought. In the few seconds while waiting for the pointer to stop, the Mutated Mouse charged at The Blood of Evolution several times with bloodshot eyes, almost swallowing the drop of blood.
This made a lot of mutated lifeforms super agitated. Yangos flapped its wings even faster, but even it couldn't guarantee that The Blood of Evolution would still be there if it attacked William. If the blood got swallowed, killing William would be pointless.
Yangos shot a nasty glare at the Mutated Mouse King, as if to say, "Look at the mess your useless minion caused me."
The Mutated Mouse King felt wronged. It was the Mouse King, but not the king of all mutated mice in Accraville City.
The pointer stopped in the career zone.
William hesitated for a moment and chose a profession instead of the Career Promotion Scroll.
Another drop of The Blood of Evolution hit the ground. This time, William didn't move but stood there, still as a statue.
None of the mutated lifeforms moved, either. An eerie silence hung in the air.
"Do you think just because your evolution level is the highest, you can do whatever you want here?" William broke the silence, suddenly looking up at Yangos.
At this stage, Yangos couldn't speak human language yet, but it could understand. Even the Mutated Mouse King could get some simple human words by now. Only zombies, which had mutated from humans, were still somewhat confused by the language they originally used, which was pretty ironic.
Yangos opened its mouth slightly, letting out a few strange sounds that no one understood, but combined with its eyes and expression, it seemed to say, "So what!"
William sighed softly, his voice carrying across the silent battlefield. "Do you really think I came here to die? Do you really think I fear you?"
William locked eyes with Yangos, a grin spreading across his face that made the dragon visibly uncomfortable. "Yeah, I get it. You're the biggest threat to me. But that doesn't mean I'm scared of you. Actually, Dragon, I'm really, really interested in every part of your body. I just wonder if you're willing to part with them."
'What?' The lip-readers in the Major Power Alliance were floored, and so were some high-level mutated lifeforms along with William's own crew.
In Accraville City, Level 5 was a title unique to this Dragon. Its individual strength was unmatched. Sure, there weren't many of them, just a fraction compared to the zombie and mutated animal factions. But this Level 5 Dragon made up for that numerical disadvantage.
That was the perk of being at a higher evolution level!
But now William was making these wild claims, saying he was interested in the Dragon's body. Did he think this Dragon was some delicate, will-less beauty? This was a Dragon that could torch countless mutated lifeforms with a single Dragon Breath, a terrifying creature capable of evolving to the highest level!
'Instead of trying to escape, you're provoking this giant dragon face-to-face. Are you nuts?' Everyone thought in unison.
"This guy is crazy, really crazy, I'm a hundred percent sure!" A human watching from afar voiced what everyone was thinking, including Stella, who had just defended William. She now thought he had gone from a wise man to a complete fool.
Yangos was pissed, but it was a smart creature. With the upper hand, it didn't care much about a dying man making a scene.
"Don't believe me?" William shook his head, casually picking up The Blood of Evolution from the ground, causing the surrounding mutated lifeforms to instinctively step forward.
Holding two drops of The Blood of Evolution, William smirked, "You see, apart from the first drop of The Blood of Evolution, I don't plan on giving you any of the other three drops you want."
Yangos let out a thunderous roar. With the appearance of the fourth drop of The Blood of Evolution, the Mutated Mouse King also got agitated, glaring at William with murderous intent.
According to the rules, this drop of blood was supposed to be the Mutated Mouse King's.
Even several Zombie Kings started moving towards William. Three drops of The Blood of Evolution were enough to make these Zombie Kings forget about the Level 5 Dragon and the massive mutated animal faction. Whoever tried to stop them was an enemy, a mortal enemy!
William, who had been calm and collected, suddenly turned fierce. Pointing at the Zombie Kings, he shouted, "You cowardly wretches, you don't dare to do anything when others unite against you. That's why, despite Accraville City's rich resources, you've only reached Level 4. You're not even as good as the Level 4 Throat Seizer I killed, at least it knew to seek further evolution opportunities! And you, filthy rat, don't think that walking upright and sitting on your butt will make you the human you envy. You're still a pest from the sewers!"
After cursing the kings of the two factions, William looked up at the somewhat surprised Yangos, cursing, "Do you really think you're a dragon? You're just a flying lizard. What are you so proud of!"
"Think I'm all talk?" William didn't give the mutated lifeforms a chance to attack, pointing to the sky behind him. "Let me show you my Battle Pet, you trash. Today, I'll slaughter you all!"
As William's words fell, two golden beams of light suddenly pierced the sky behind the wheel, casting onto the battlefield. A massive shadow appeared there, and an overwhelming aura swept across the field!
All the mutated lifeforms that saw this shadow chose to retreat, including Yangos.
