Chapter 271 Extravagant spending

Many bidders laughed.

Now, two-star Evolving persons were the backbone of these teams and the main force in battles. Except for the top ten forces in Accraville City, very few other forces had three-star Evolving persons. In other words, apart from the dozen or so three-star Evolving persons in the entire Accraville City, two-star evolution was the highest combat power.

The Mercy Vanguard warband was strong, but how many two-star Evolving persons did they have? As was well-known, they had less than ten, and this number was only reached after they absorbed some members from the former Blue Bay warband. Their strength was more reflected in the two three-star Evolving persons and the large group of one-star Evolving persons.

Two bottles of two-star Evolution Elixir were enough to raise a top ten force by one rank on the Accraville City leaderboard.

This price was truly high.

A Secret Realm Key that might bring the danger of death required a price equivalent to about a quarter of a force's strength. Everyone knew this deal was not worth it.

So when Chester announced this price, the room immediately fell silent. To be honest, not only would people not have two bottles of two-star Evolution Elixir saved up until now, but even if they did, they wouldn't be foolish enough to bring such a ticking time bomb home.

"Will you take one-star Evolution Elixir instead?" A voice suddenly broke the silence. Everyone looked over to see a young man next to Basil, presumably a member of the Burning Fury warband. Many people were puzzled as to why Basil wasn't speaking and instead let this young man talk.

Chester frowned and thought for a moment before saying, "Actually, what I need most is a two-star Evolution Elixir, but I understand the current situation. So... alright, one-star Evolution Elixir will do, but I need at least thirty bottles!"

Everyone exclaimed.

Although there was no exchange ratio between two-star and one-star Evolution Elixirs, everyone knew that second-level mutated life forms were becoming more common, while first-level ones were getting rarer. Second-level Magic Crystals would be easy to come by soon enough; first-level ones, not so much.

These people were leaders of various forces and were not stupid. The stupid ones wouldn't have survived until now. They cleared that the foundation of a force was the number of one-star Evolving persons. With these people, they could gradually cultivate two-star and even three-star Evolving persons. Without this foundation, everything was just empty talk.

Moreover, in the post-apocalyptic world, loyalty within a team was very important. A leader, under normal circumstances, would rather spend a bottle of one-star Evolution Elixir to cultivate an Evolving person themselves than to absorb an Evolving person of unknown origin. This was because you could not be sure if an Evolving person who joined the team midway had ulterior motives.

Naturally, this situation was not at all, but it was definitely something every leader cares about.

Therefore, various forces still hunted profuse first-level mutated life forms to solidify their foundation and formed a good pyramid organizational structure, preparing for future strength.

Thirty bottles of one-star Evolution Elixir meant thirty self-cultivated one-star Evolving persons. This price was definitely not low at a large cost.

Not to mention others, just the Mercy Vanguard warband itself, thirty one-star Evolving persons were about one-sixth to one-seventh of their current number of Evolving persons.

"No problem." To everyone's surprise, William immediately nodded in agreement.

"Damn it, who is he? Can he make decisions for Basil?"

"No idea where he came from."

"This price, isn't he a sucker?"

People from other forces were puzzled by this deal. From their perspective, they would never use thirty bottles of one-star Evolution Elixir to exchange for such a useless thing.

William was so excited to see the Secret Realm Key, so he didn't bother to use the Burning Fury warband to attract everyone's attention and directly stepped in himself.

Naturally, no one competed with William for this price, and he obtained the Secret Realm Key.

Although many people thought William was a sucker, they were surprised by his consecutive purchases of two items.

"The third item, a piece of equipment." Chester continued his auction, and a common white-level piece of equipment appeared.

This surprised the competition because white equipment was currently the best equipment available. Very few forces would take it out to exchange for something else, so it was unexpected to see this today.

Compared to the previous two items, the bidding for this one was much more intense. In the end, the white longsword was taken by someone from Star Beauty Company for a thousand first-level Magic Crystals.

Chester was quite satisfied that all three items he put up for auction were sold. He signaled that it was now time for others to present their items. The second-ranked Star Beauty Company stepped up.

However, their items couldn't compare to those of the Mercy Vanguard warband. The best they had was a piece of material called Molten Gold, which no one else recognized, and it was once again taken by William.

Molten Gold was a material used to create the ultimate form of the Warblade Moon Sand—Moonlit Sand Arena. Although he couldn't use it for now, it would be useful in the future as a small gain for William.

Next up was the Fierce Roar warband, selling modified vehicles and the like, which had quite a market.

When it was nose to tail's turn to auction their items, most people weren't interested. During the awkward silence, many bidders looked at William, making him feel embarrassed, as if he were a garbage collector.

'Those items are really useless, okay!'William could only grumble in his heart.

After the auctions by the top twenty forces, it was time for individual trades. This was when useful items could be found, and the scene immediately became lively.

"Buying two-star Evolution Elixir, name your price."

"Do you know Veronica Cooper? The actress from Cosmic Adventure? You can trade her for a bottle of two-star Evolution Elixir!"

"Three virgins for five bottles of one-star Evolution Elixir."

"Selling information on the locations of fifteen third-level mutated life forms, fifteen bottles of one-star Evolution Elixir, no bargaining!"

Each force occupied a spot and started shouting their offers. Survivors roamed the conference room, looking for things that could help them, even Chester, the strongest in Accraville City, was no exception.

"Selling Career Scroll!" An old man, almost seventy years old, squatted in a corner and suddenly shouted, immediately attracting most of the bidders in the room.

"Careers are now as hot as Evolution Elixirs!" The old man said.

"What career?"

"How much?"

"Isn't this Lawrence from the Peaceful warband?" Bidders chattered.

After gathering around, everyone recognized the old man.

"The Peaceful warband dropped from sixth place out of the top ten this period. Could it be because of this Career Scroll?"

Some quick-witted individuals connected this to the previous rankings.

William, along with Basil, Sasha, Jenkins, and Darryl, also came over and saw Lawrence holding a Professional Certificate and a Sheepskin Scroll.

"One bottle of two-star Evolution Elixir."

Lawrence Stewart stated his price without any intention of bargaining.

Many people were immediately discouraged.

It's not that the career isn't good or that it's too expensive. In William's view, it's actually quite cheap. It's just that very few individuals have two-star Evolution Elixirs on hand.

"Lawrence, can we trade for something else? Two-star Evolution Elixir is too difficult to come by."

"No." Lawrence shook his head firmly.

Bidders began to sigh. The Career Scroll was the most useful item to appear so far, but unfortunately, no one had a two-star Evolution Elixir.

William suddenly asked, "Can we use second-level Magic Crystals?"

Lawrence hesitated, "It's possible, but it would have to be at least a hundred second-level Magic Crystals."

William thought for a moment, "Then wait for me."

With this, William waved to Basil, and the members of the Burning Fury warband who had been standing in the back began to take off their equipment. Immediately, dozens of gray-level pieces of equipment were laid out in front of the stunned forces of Accraville City.

"One second-level Magic Crystal per piece, no bargaining. If you want it, hurry up!"

While the major forces in Accraville City were busy trading, no one noticed a few people standing on the rooftop of the building opposite.

"Is this the place?" A man asked, arms wrapped, looking at the scene below.

"Yep, Merlin just confirmed it," another man said with a smile. "Look at all that prey. I can practically taste my fourth star. What do you think, Lord Lopez?"
