Chapter 121 One Strike Decides the Winner

Candice, Natalie, and Jack surrounded Lucy, protecting her in the middle. Each of them took a side, desperately fending off the frenzied and violent wild boars.

If it weren't for the sharpness of the two Edge of the Moon blades that made the boars wary and the long whip's striking, pulling, and spinning combined with its sufficient length, they would have been overwhelmed by the boars long ago.

But they knew they couldn't hold out much longer. Natalie was already at her limit, needing help from Candice and Jack several times to hold her ground. If her side was breached, it would mean death for all of them.

Jack suddenly let out a muffled groan.

Earlier, he had been too eager for glory, using up his Edge of the Moon moves to kill a level-two boar. Although he succeeded, he was gored in the thigh by another boar that had been waiting for an opportunity. If he hadn't reacted quickly, using Edge of the Moon to swiftly cut back and sever the tusk, he would have been thrown into the air by the boar.

However, the sharp tusk still lodged in his leg, and Candice, who was on his side, immediately felt Jack's shoulder bump into hers. If she hadn't been there, Jack would have fallen.

In a battlefield where flesh and blood flew every moment, falling meant death.

Natalie let out a cry as well. Her whip was bitten by a boar with all its might. Although the sharp, hard willow leaves on the whip cut its mouth, causing blood to flow like a stream, the whip that the boars hated was now restrained.

Immediately, two boars charged at Natalie from both left and right, aiming to end her life.

Lucy, who was already exhausted, saw her companion in danger and screamed, using Air Shield to barely block the boar on the right.

But after using it, Lucy's body went limp, and she could no longer stand. It felt as if countless bees were buzzing in her head, and her vision was darkening. If it weren't for the ongoing battle, she would have fainted. Although she was barely holding on to consciousness, she was completely unable to move and collapsed to the ground.

Hearing Natalie's cry, Candice wanted to help, but Jack was leaning on her. If she moved, Jack would surely fall, breaking their defensive formation. But if she didn't help, Natalie would be in trouble. Candice wished she could clone herself.

Natalie was ready to die, but seeing Lucy desperately give her an Air Shield to block one side, she had a burst of quick thinking. She pulled out the gun William had given her and fired at the charging boar.

The last two bullets entered the boar's head, shattering its attack and taking its life.

Candice let out a sigh of relief.

However, this only temporarily alleviated the danger. The boars' attacks were getting increasingly intense, and new dangers could arise at any moment.

Candice instinctively looked at Landon, who had been watching the battle from the second floor, and suddenly noticed a ghostly figure behind him—it was William, who should have arrived long ago!

Landon was gritting his teeth, watching the battle below. Every time a mutated boar died, his heart trembled, but seeing the four below struggling to hold on, he became excited again.

Suddenly, he heard a slight sound of wind behind him. Landon wanted to turn around, but before he could move, he felt his arm being twisted. A crack followed, and excruciating pain spread through his body.

"Ah!!"Landon couldn't help but scream. After a second, his neck was grabbed, and he was dragged out the window by William, behind him.

Hitting the ground, Landon tried to struggle, but William was behind him, delivered a fierce knee strike, almost making his eyes pop out from the pain. Moments later, tears streamed down his face as he realized he had lost control of his lower body.

He knew he was done for; his spine had been broken!

Even if he didn't die today, he would be a cripple for the rest of his life.

He wouldn't know that in the near future, the post-apocalyptic world would make significant advances in certain areas, such as treating human injuries. Such an injury would cause paralysis in peacetime, but in the apocalypse, it was treatable.

As long as you had enough money.

Seeing their master attacked, the boars were momentarily stunned. Then they all turned around and let out ear-piercing roars at William.

William smirked, his arm around Landon's neck, dragging him backward.

The boars immediately gave chase.

William's pace was slow, forcing the boars to slow down and bunch up.

After dragging Landon a distance, William suddenly pushed Landon forward. The future Pig King was thrown toward his boars.

Seeing their master released, the boars became agitated and crowded together. But their master, full of pain and unwillingness, shouted at them.

"Run!" Landon warned.

But it was too late. The mutated boars saw a fiery light rise behind their master, who hadn't even hit the ground, and then fall like a comet.

Seal: Flame Blade!

The Radiant Seal Blade Master's dual-class skill unleashed a devastating strike.

The flaming Knife light descended from the sky, slicing through the boars almost in a row. The ones in the middle were cut in half, while those on the sides were ignited by the flames. The intense heat of the fire, though lasting only a second or two, turned the boars into charred remains.

Landon felt as if the world had been split apart. The left side was a bit larger, the right side a bit smaller... It wasn't until his last breath that he realized it wasn't the world that had been split, but his body.

William had put all his strength and spirit into that strike. From ambushing Landon to dragging him back, his goal had been to gather the boars as much as possible, so he could maximize the impact of his attack.

He succeeded. That strike took out most of the boars, and the few remaining posed no threat to the team.

Although Candice and the others had seen this move before, they were still deeply shocked upon witnessing it again. Such a devastating skill, akin to a finishing move, was it a power that humans should wield?

William's breath was a bit erratic; the previous strike had taken a lot out of him. But since his mental strength wasn't exhausted, he still had some energy left. Tightening his grip on Edge of the Moon, he charged at the remaining boars.

The battle ended quickly. The remaining boars were swiftly killed by William and Candice.

Even level-two mutated boars couldn't survive the attacks of two Edge of the Moon blades.

When the battlefield finally quieted down, everyone felt a sense of unreality, their minds still filled with numbers.

Seventy-four boars, forty-six level-two, twenty-eight level-one.
