Chapter 10 To Offend Him is to die

"I won't give foot massages to people!" Ivy decisively hung up the phone, worried that Emma might call again, and shut off her phone to get some sleep.

The next day, Ivy woke up early, ready to go out and find a job. But before she could leave, Maria brought Emma over.

"Ivy, your friend is here to see you!"

"Friend?" Ivy tilted her head and looked at Emma. "May I ask, when did we become friends?"

"We are friends now," Emma smiled and took Ivy's hand, half-pleadingly saying, "Ivy, just go back to work. Mr. Ashford said that as long as you're willing to come back, you can choose any position at the Club and set your own salary. You can request any conditions as long as you're willing to work."

Upon hearing this, Maria immediately knew that Emma was affiliated with the Club and stood up for Ivy, "And you dare ask her to go back to work after what your big boss did? Do you want us to file a sexual harassment complaint?"

"Our boss has been replaced. It's not the same person anymore," Emma explained. "The previous boss was too lascivious, and everyone couldn't stand him. Fortunately, a new boss bought the Club, increased our salaries and benefits, and even introduced paid leave. All the employees are rushing to sign new employment contracts. Everyone likes the new boss now."

"Really?" Maria's face lit up, and she quickly persuaded Ivy, "Since the new boss is so good, you should go back. It's hard to find a job now, and the Club makes money quickly. Besides, you have six little ones to support. They always want to eat meat, and it's impossible without a high income."

Ivy wanted to stop Maria from talking, but Maria spoke too quickly, and Ivy couldn't intervene in time. Maria had already finished speaking.

"What six little ones?" Emma was extremely curious. "Ivy, what kind of pets do you have? Can I take a look?"

"They're not pets..." Maria was about to say more.

"Maria!" Ivy covered Maria's mouth.

"They are pets, but they are nationally protected animals. I don't want others to see them," Ivy explained with an evasive look.

"Nationally protected animals? They like to eat meat?" Emma mumbled to herself. After a while, her face suddenly changed. "It's not snakes, is it? You have six snakes?"

Ivy could tell that Emma was afraid of snakes. She nodded and said, "Yes, six large pythons. They love to eat meat, so I had to hide and raise them. If you really want to see them, I can take you to meet them. After all, we're friends."

"No, I don't want to see them. I...I have something to do," Emma said as she kept stepping back. But when she realized that the task wasn't completed yet, she added, "When are you going back to work? Let me know the specific time so I can inform Mr. Ashford."

"What if I don't want to go?" Ivy tentatively asked.

"Then I'll lose my job. No, losing my job isn't the real issue. Mr. Ashford won't give up easily. He might come to your house personally," Emma replied.

"Ah? That won't work," Ivy said. If Alexander came here, she wouldn't be able to keep her children's secret.
