Chapter 101 She Has Six Treasures
Ethan was sharp-eared and heard Leo's words, and clearly knew the family heirloom Leo was talking about was Ivy's six children.
But, without Alexander's permission, he dared not tell Annabel anything.
Ethan remained silent, but Mrs. Ashford could no longer wait. "Ethan, do you know Ivy's real identity? Who exactly is she? Who's behind her?"
"Well... She's got somebody behind her, but I can't spill the beans without Mr. Ashford's permission." Ethan smiled inwardly, thinking that somebody behind Ivy was no one else but Mr. Ashford!
"Name your price and tell me!" Mrs. Ashford pulled a long face, believing that Ethan was trying to make some extra money out of this secret.
"I'm not a money-grabber." said Ethan righteously, "I can't say anything unless Mr. Ashford approves."
"What a loyal dog!" shouted Mrs. Ashford in anger.
She glanced around the servants with her gloomy eyes and suddenly found a familiar face. She stopped frowning immediately, and pointed to the tall maid, "You! Come over here! Tell me whatever you know about Ivy."
The tall maid stepped forward in excitement. "Mrs. Ashford, Ivy has six..."
"Ahem!" Ethan cleared his throat loudly and warned the tall maid with his stern eyes that she would absolutely come to a bad end if she said something she wasn't supposed to.
The tall maid shut up in no time when she thought of those hundreds of terrifying slaps. She covered her face with her hands and looked at Mrs. Ashford in grievance.
"Six what? Tell me!" said Mrs. Ashford coldly.
"Six treasures." The tall maid looked at Ethan in fear.
"What kind of treasures are they?" Mrs. Ashford stared at her and pushed coldly.
"I... I don't know. That's all I know." The tall maid noticed Ethan's face was bloody cold, and didn't dare to say anything else.
"What happened to your face? Who did that to you?" Mrs. Ashford pretended to care and touched the tall maid's face. "Tell me. I'll seek justice for you!"
"I slapped myself." The tall slender maid lowered her head.
"She indeed slapped herself, but Mr. Ashford told her to." said Ethan, "Because she showed no respect to the owner of the six treasures."
"The owner of the six treasures? You mean Ivy... or Alexander?" Mrs. Ashford narrowed her shrewd eyes.
"Mr. Ashford," answered Ethan. Anyway, he was right because Alexander was the father of the six little girls.
"Oh! I see." Leo was suddenly enlightened, and said, "Grandma, it turns out that Ivy has six family heirlooms. And Alexander became the new owner of the six treasures after he took them back. This maid must have tried to steal the treasures. As the new owner of the treasures, Alexander had good reasons to be pissed off. It's reasonable that she was punished."
"You deserved it!" Mrs. Ashford glared at the tall maid and then glanced around the crowd again.
She saw the family doctor with a medicine box, and asked sensitively, "What are you doing with that medicine box? Is it for Ivy's wound dressing? Was she here?"
"No. I'm here for her." The family doctor opened the medicine box calmly, took out the ointment and a cotton swab, and applied it directly on the tall maid's face.
Mrs. Ashford had a strong hunch that the family doctor didn't tell her the truth.
She said coldly, "You'd better tell me what you know, otherwise, I'll get another doctor for Alexander."
The family doctor panicked and dropped the cotton swab on the ground.
"Mr. Ashford won't get him replaced, because he didn't make any mistake," said Ethan.
Mrs. Ashford sneered. "It's nothing about making mistakes! If I told him to choose one between you and the family doctor, who do you think he would go for? If he chooses you, doesn't it mean he'll have to get a new family doctor?
"But, what if I told him to choose between the position of CEO and you? Who do you think he would choose?"
