Chapter 31 A False Alarm

"I know?" Alexander is both annoyed and amused. "Are you suggesting that I provided these monkeys?"

Ivy looks at Alexander with immense confusion, not sure what he means by monkeys.

"Alright, Ivy, don't worry too much. Even if the origins of these six monkeys are unclear, it's not a problem. I will find a solution for you." Alexander said.

Ivy frowns deeply, completely unable to understand what Alexander is saying.

Alexander clears his throat and continues, "Hiding them all the time is not a solution. It's better to make it public. Actually, individuals are allowed to raise monkeys, but you must obtain a license for pet breeding. Once you have this license, you can legally keep monkeys."

Keeping monkeys!

After all that, Alexander didn't discover the secret; instead, he thinks she secretly raised six monkeys?

Heavens, it was just a false alarm.

Ivy is overjoyed, "Thank you for your suggestion!"

"You're welcome." Seeing Ivy so happy, Alexander's mood also improves naturally.

Ivy's smile is innocent and charming, which creates an illusion for Alexander.

He seems to see Ivy taking off her apron and coat, just like that night four years ago, dancing freely in front of him.

"Ivy..." Alexander gently calls out, his large hand reaching towards Ivy's waist.

Ivy evades Alexander's hand in a flash and says sternly, "Mr. Ashford, just because you gave me an idea doesn't mean you can do whatever you want to me!"

Just as they were talking, Emma suddenly appears here. She just came to see why Ivy hastily ran out of the kitchen and hasn't returned for so long.

Emma felt extremely unbalanced when she saw Ivy treating Alexander in such a manner. She tried to please Alexander, but he didn't even look at her. Ivy never gave Alexander a good face, yet he always had thoughts about her.

Is it true that the things we can't obtain are always the best?

Alexander didn't understand why he thought of something that happened four years ago and made such an absurd move. It would be embarrassing if news of him sexually harassing others were to get out.

With a flash of inspiration, he found a suitable excuse. "Ivy, you misunderstood me."

"Well, thank you, Mr. Ashford. The beef should be stewed by now. I'll go check on it." Ivy made an excuse and quickly fled the scene.

Emma looked at Ivy's back with some envy and loneliness.

"Mr. Ashford, should we still let her do the cleaning? Isn't it a waste of her talent? I think she's more suitable to be a mermaid than anyone else. How can there only be one mermaid in the aquarium? Let Ivy and the previous performer become mermaids together."
