Chapter 63 Leo is Here

"Yes!" Maria immediately took the six little girls to her room.

The housekeepers quickly went to pack up clothes and toys.

Just as they finished, Leo barged in.

"Alexander, long time no see." Leo walked into the living room without any restraint and complained when he saw Ethan.

"Alexander, your assistant is so unfeeling. I wanted to see you but he wouldn't let me. He even said I had to make an appointment. This isn't a company, why do I need an appointment just to come over?"

Although Leo should called Alexander "Uncle," in fact they were both the same age with only a few months difference between them.

Leo's mother was Alexander's cousin once removed, which means she had no blood relation at all with the Ashford family. However, his mother used to work as a maid for the Ashfords when she was young and won Mrs. Ashford's favor because of it. Because of this relationship, Mrs. Ashford treated Leo especially well.

Taking advantage of Mrs. Ashford's favoritism towards him, Leo was very proud in front of the Ashfords but Alexander never liked him much.

"You should have told me earlier, I could have asked our steward to prepare some food for you." Alexander said sternly.

"No need for that, anything will do." As he spoke these words, Leo headed straight for the dining room where six little girls' bowls were still on the table along with spoons decorated with cartoon patterns which caught his curiosity:

"It seems like your home is a kindergarten! Where did all these children’s bowls come from?"

"Oh don’t touch those! They belong to our servants.” Maria rushed over and signaled at them: “Why haven’t you taken away their dishes yet?”

The housekeepers immediately collected all six little girl’s spoons while Leo exclaimed in amazement: "Wow, the servants eat so well and can even dine with their masters! Alexander, you treat your servants too well!"

"Of course. Everyone is equal." Alexander said expressionlessly. Thinking of Leo's mother, he added: "Your mother was also a servant and she dined with my grandmother at the same table."

Leo suddenly became anxious: "How could it be the same? My mother...my mother has a higher status than them...never mind, let’s not talk about it."

He went to the kitchen to serve himself some food and ate while exclaiming:

"Gosh! The food for servants is so exquisite and luxurious..."

Alexander had been frowning all along. He thought that once Leo finished his meal he would leave but instead he filled up another bowl of soup.

Alexander was getting annoyed, if it weren't for fear that Leo might discover the six little girls, he would have kept his distance from him long ago and wouldn’t have stayed in the living room with him for even one second.

"Alexander," as Leo drank his soup he said: "It's time for you to solve your personal problems. You're almost 30 years old now, if you don't hurry up when will you? Grandma is eager…oh no I mean great-grandma is eager to hold her great-grandson.”

"What does this have to do with you?" Alexander asked coldly.

"How come it doesn't concern me? Great-grandma gave me an assignment - after entering into Ashford family I must urge you to find a girlfriend within three months. If you get yourself a girlfriend during this period then I'll immediately become a regular staff member otherwise I’ll have to leave the company. Do you think that’s fair?"

It did seem somewhat unfair. A smirk appeared on Alexander's face.
